  1. Althought the day was slow, boy did it feel great
  2. My main goal for bass fishing is to learn to identify structure better, especially in deeper water. I have always bank fished and FINALLY got my first boat. So I have no idea what to look for from a boaters perspective. My other goal this year is to catch my PB muskie. But its more specific than that, it MUST come from the susquehanna. Right now my PB stands at 47 inches. Caught from shore about 5 miles from my house.
  3. this has already been done
  4. accuracy accuracy accuracy. See that hole in the weeds 35 yards thataway, yep you can drop a jig directly into that hole. They also have more power in my opinion when winching a hog out of heavy cover or any cover for that matter.
  5. you mean the veritas??? Do a search there is plenty of info on here about them. Early runs had issues with rods breaking but that has since been fixed. They are very light and sensitive for the price point. Excellent rods at 70 bucks
  6. you will get better distance with m rods. That light of lure is struggling to load the rod
  7. I actually like the arkie jigs from walmart. I have hundreds of bass accounted to those things. BUT, that being said, I would make an order with siebert outdoors. As soon as I need to restock, im going with siebert jigs. I have some of his punch rigs and they are hands down AWESOME
  8. to this day my first bass is also my personal best. I was 11 years old and my parents took us to a little private campground for the weekend. I had never fished a day in my life. I caught her on a tadpole under a float. I have a picture of myself holding her floating around somewhere, ill have to see if I can find it. I didnt truely get deep into bass fishing until highschool but to this day iv been after a bass to match or beat my first
  9. I really like the strike king rage craw and baby rodent. Inexpensive, good action and good quality
  10. I figured lol I was just pulling your chain
  11. Im going to pick up a jon boat in the next few weeks for going up and down my local river (susquehanna) I found an awesome deal on a 12 foot semi v, but how stable are they? Would a flat jon be better? I plan to put a 7.5 to 10 hp outboard on there
  12. No issues with mine. I love them for the price
  13. Right now ther veritas is on sale for 79.99. CANT GO WRONG with this rod at that price. Light, sensitive, balances well.
  14. Born and raised in Athens/sayre.
  15. My wife moved into the house across the street from my parents when I was 14. We dated for a year in highschool then when I joined the army I foolishly cut ties with her. When I came home (medical discharge 2 years into my career for a heart condition) she was seeing someone else pretty seriously. I spent the next 3 years trying to convince her to go on another date with me. Finally, she let her guard down and gave me a shot. Fast forward 4 years, we have two beautiful children and just married in november of 2013.
  16. Life slips by so fast. Between work and bills and the hustle and bustle of every day life. 5 years ago my best friend of 15 years married a woman that I did not get along with very well. After that I quit spending much time with him because I didnt want to be around his wife. I HATE MYSELF FOR THIS EVERY DAY. He was diagnosed with stage 3 intestinal cancer at only 27 years old and died 6 months later. That was a year ago next month. I look back and think about all the time I missed with him because of my own selfish views. Truth be told, he married one hell of a good woman. She stood by his side every second of every day while he battled this. I speak to her once a week now and I make it a point to tell her every time how much I respect and thank her for being there for him while I selfishly did not
  17. With the veritas on sale right now at $79.99 you cant go wrong. If I had the money I would buy ten of them. Super light, very balanced, great back bone.
  18. Any local bass clubs? I know of a few that are a couple hours away but is there anything closer?
  19. Well, I ended up spending more than I wanted. But, I got the wifes approval first (its sad, I know) Ended up snagging the 7' Abu Veritas MH/F for 89 bucks shipped overnight!!! Too good to pass up at that price

  21. Im a major budget fisherman. I only have 2 rod/reel setups. One mh/f jig rod, and a cranking rod. Well last night I discovered that my jig rod was snapped in half in my shed from a falling car tire. I only have $50 to spend on a new rod (so my wife doesnt kill me) Any suggestions in that price point?
