  1. Thanks for the advice. Why are curado e's worth more than chronarch e's? i thought chronarchs were one class higher?
  2. Where do you buy e series? can someone pm me where you can buy em?
  3. What exactly does it mean to flush a bearing out? Does that mean with acetone?
  4. allright i guess im going with the citica
  5. When i say light i mean around 1/8 oz t-rigs, and 1/4 cranks
  6. I am finally moving up my budget to around $250. I would like a reel that can cast 1/4 oz crankbaits nicely and t-rigs w/ 1/4 oz weights. I have narrowed it down to this: shimano chronarch shimano curado E shimano citica pflueger patriarch daiwa t3 ballistic If you have any other suggestions, please tell me! Thanks
  7. yeah, but doesn't that make the revo S bad for lighter lures such as 1/8 oz- 1/4 t-rigs?
  8. but what about the whole balance thing? dont you have to have brakes accross from eachother so they balance? look at this picture- the pitch are accross from the spring loaded so if you wanted to use 2 brakes you would have to use one of each, and if you wanted to use 3 you could choose? What you said is pitch brakes are only for pitching, but wouldnt you be forced to use them if you wanted to use 2 brakes?
  9. can you tell me about how you use the internal braking system
  10. Can the abu garcia generation 3 revo s handle lighter lures? After learning about the unique pitch brakes i am kinda skeptical
  11. Can someone tell me a little about the pitch and spring loaded brake combination on the revo s. That is the only thing holding me back from buying it right now
  12. I think my main problem is the line. I gave it a test yesterday and i can cast stuff pretty far, but the lure comes to a sudden stop cause the last 50 feet of line i have on m reel is very stiff/stubborn.
  13. bmlum, what settings are you using on centri brakes when you get that kind of distance?
  14. Can any of you tell me a little about the abu revo s braking system? I read about the pitch & spring loaded brakes and all and it seems kinda confusing....
  15. why are alot of people saying lew's!?!??! my lew's tourney pro sucks!
  16. Yeah i have a feeling my line could be a big part of the problem. Yesterday I cleaned/lubed the spool bearing and the bearing on the side plate. I also put a little bit of oil on the copper ring that the centri. brakes rub against to slow the spool down and that really seemed to do the trick. I can cast a 3/8 oz rebel wee-r about 80 feet, and at the end of the cast, the lure really comes to a sudden stop and i think it is because the line is not too good and i don't have alot on the spool. I think i could really throw a rat-l-trap with this reel now. A 1/2 oz rat-l-trap was the only lure i could get good distance on with this reel ever.
  17. I will be buying a reel this weekend, and i want to make sure i get the best reel i can afford. Revo s or citica g?
  18. Does the level wind on the c3 disengage during the cast?
  19. I dont think thats true...
  20. H20 mettle hands down is the best baitcaster i have ever used for light lures... heck, its the best reel i have ever used overall! It casts so far with any lure. I could probably cast weightless 4" senko about..... maybe 40 yards if i really tried. Oh- and its only $50. If that doesn't sound good to you, check out the crappie maxx baitcaster made by Basspro.
  21. There are sooo many baitcasting reels on the market, and i am kinda overwhelmed, but i have narrowed it down to a few. ($150 or less) revo s citica pro qualifier quantum energy pt (found one for a good price) abu garcia ambassedeur c3 If you have a suggestion other than these reels feel free to say it. This reel will mostly be used for 1/4 oz - 5/8 oz crankbaits and also t-rigged soft plastics, and jigs. Oh, and on 12 pound line monofilament
  22. Got a good idea/innovation for the fishing reel world? It could be a braking system, reel shape, material or anything. Feel free to share it. Lets see what kind of cool ideas we can put together.
  23. I recommend the blue h20 rods from academy. only $50, but they are really nice.
