  1. Welcome! I live in Mifflintown which is right on the Juniata River. I also fish some of the lakes that you mentioned. As a matter of fact I am hoping to be fishing in that tournament on Meadow Grounds with Basser 89. I am on a layoff from work right now, and my son goes back to school next week so maybe we arrange to meet at one of those lakes and do some fishing. I have a 2008 nitro Z7 so it could also be your boat or mine, pm me and we can try to set something up. I also know some other guys that post on here that are always up for a fishing trip, maybe we can get a group togther to fish somewhere. Matt
  2. Make sure that you guys talk to jason and I about long pine. Last time we were there we had pretty good luck. 15lbs16oz total fish weight. Matt
  3. Looks like everyone had a great time. Great to see all of you guys catching fish. Matt
  4. That makes you think for sure. Thank you for sharing, I am starting a 9 hour trip this evening and this will give me plenty to think about. Matt
  5. I am going up to Canada next week for a week long fishing trip. I was wondering if anyone has been fishing in the area I will be in. I will be fishing in a lake that is close to Perth, Ontario. The closest little settlement to the lake is a place called McDonalds Corners. We fish for bass, walleye, and pike. Information of all 3 species would be greatly appreciated. I have a 6yr old son who is really looking forward to catching some walleyes and he is really hoping to hook into a pike this year as well. Thank-you all in advance for your help. Matt
  6. Looks like that was a awesome show!!!! I have never been to a live show, but used to watch all the time on TV. Just one question is the big show and the great kalie (sorry on the spelling) as big in person as they appear on the television? Matt
  7. Great fish man, keep up the good work. A sack full of those would make any tournament angler happy. Matt
  8. Great picture I still remember my son's first bass. I have a picture of it but nothing that I can put up here. He is 6 now and the fish came when he was 2, I still remember it like it was just yesterday. Matt
  9. Great picture, sometimes you just have to wonder what those smaller fish are thinking going after baits that are just as big or bigger than they are. I liked you choice for title I was expecting something a little bigger on the pic. ;D Matt
  10. Thanks again for the help Bass Tracker. That is about how long it took the light finally went green today after just about 12 hours of total charge time. Matt
  11. Thank you Bass Tracker for the help. The charger is a guest 8amp charger. One more question for you or anyone else that can answer. If the batteries are drained how long does it take to charge them back up to 100%? Matt
  12. I have an inboard battery charger on my 2008 nitro Z-7 in the past when making use of the charger red light came on charging green light came on batteries charged end of story. The last 2 times I have tired to charge my batteries after several hours of charging both the red and the green light has been on. My question is this what does both lights being on mean? The charger was to only piece of equipment that did not have a manual as part of the boat's paperwork. The boat and all of its parts are still under warranty. I just need to know if there is a problem that needs attention or if this is standard. Thank-you all for your help in answering my question. Matt
  13. Did anyone catch the Lunkerville episode that had the bachelor party going on? That was a great show, I really enjoyed the girls in the bikinis handing out the beer. They could come along on any of my fishing trips there is always a need for liquid refreshment. ;D I just wish I had thought of something like that when I got married. Matt
  14. Hey LBH, I am sure that if you really wanted to come down to PA and fish with us we can provide you with dates and times to make it happen. I am a firm believer in the phrase "the more the merrier". I am sure that we could all learn something from each other. Basser needs the most help on the Juniata he can not seem to do anything on that river except cry. :'( :'(
  15. nice fish old man!!!!! ;D Just have one question. Are you ready for the float down the juniata yet? I hear we might be having 2 this year. Think you can handle 2 floats down that river this summer? I hope the answer is yes. Looking forward to floating with you again this year. I know how you enjoy floating that river. Matt
  16. great to see dad taking the little guy fishing. Wow what a first fish for him. I'll bet he really likes to fish now. matt
  17. This has been a awsome weekend of fishing for me. Yesterday my partner (Jake) and I totally kicked a$$. We won the tournament on long pine with a total weight of 15.16, which included the lunker for the tournament 4.29 which also happens to be a new PB for me. The story just gets better this morning I went out on a float trip on the Juniata river with a friend of mine starting at 630am and ending at 1230pm we caught around 35 smallmouth nothing real big but still some very nice fish. I do not think I will ever be able to duplicate the success of this weekend but it was a lot of fun and will be a good memory for me for the rest of my life. Matt
  18. Went out with my son and jake for a short outing last night. We went to a local lake, trying to get the boy into some fish we had a pretty good outing catching somewhere between 12 and 15 bass. Nothing real big but it was fun to watch him reel them in. At one point he stopped doing the reeling because he wanted to operate the net instead. Did not matter to him how big the fish was if we hooked one it had to be netted. Jake also managed to catch a muskie that was in the 25 to 30 inch range. All in all a very successful outing the boy told me on the way home that he had a really good time and wanted to go again some time. Thanks Jake for going along with us on the outing. I'm sure you could have found something more productive to do with your evening. (like your wife's honey do list) The only bad thing to happen was the muskie and some of the bass were caught on the "new" banjo minnow 006. I was foolish enough to buy some of the original banjo minnows and never caught a thing on them. Now jake thinks I need to buy some of the new ones they are the best thing since sliced bread. Matt
  19. Looks like you both had a great time. Nice fish also, going on a father son outing on wednesday, wish us luck! Matt
  20. Congrats to you all, sounds like everyone had a great time. Sounds to me basser like you are all set for a t-town to millerstown float now. We should be able to put lots of fish in the boat this time. Matt
  21. Thank-you for the map. The motor worked very well, I had the boat up to 45mph at a little over 1/2 throttle. Did not run it full out yet to much crap in the water for that. We caught 8 or 9 bass total, jake has pics is supposed to be posting them here as some point. Gas gauge does not work right, will need to be fixed. Other than that I am very pleased with the boat and the performance. Water got pretty rough later in the afternoon the boat handled those pretty well too. To bad basser could not come along, I'm sure he has forgotten what it is like to ride in a boat with a motor on it. Matt
  22. I realize that I might just be repeating history here, but I am going to Raystown lake for the first time this weekend. The main purpose is to break in my new motor on my boat. However we would also like to wet some line while we are there, what I need to know is this. Where are the best launches to put your boat in? Also any good areas where we might do some bass fishing? I have never been to this lake before and I know nothing about it or the area it is in. Any advice/ information will be greatly appreciated. Thank-you for all of your help. Matt
  23. I live in Mifflintown, so I have had lots of chances to fish around mexico. If you have the time to do it you should put in above mifflintown at the junes drivein access, and then float down to mexico. If that is to long a float (takes a couple of hours depending on how often you stop to fish an area) Just put in at mexico and go up river a ways and then float back. Sorry I do not know the area below mexico access real well. As far as bait goes, I use motor oil twister tails on jig heads, rebel crabs, jerk baits, pumpkin tube baits, small crank baits. Hope this helps, anything else I can tell you that will help just ask. Matt
  24. Great lookin bird! I guess the boy looks like the mother he is to good lookin to take after his father. Matt
  25. This had to be the shortest trip ever. I took the family out this afternoon for a little fishing/picnic. Launched the boat started out across the lake tied on a f-5 series rapala minnow on my 6 year old sons rod and set him up on the back platform to cast his little heart out. 5 or 6 casts into the afternoon he hollers out in pain. He let a little to much line out and when he tried to cast he put the lure and 2 of the 3 hook points on the front treble into his arm After several attemps to get it out with no success, off to the emergency room we went. No more fishing today. The hook is out and all is well now but he is not so sure about using lures anymore he thinks he will stay with live bait form now on, just drop it over the side no casting and no treble hooks!
