  1. They aren't public courses they are private courses. Unless they start fishing privately owned lakes nothing can be done or should be done. These guys know to expect this, or at least should know.
  2. Yeah the smell could be bad at times. They offered some folks to re-locate to other plants. Also there is another plant of some kind supposed to be opening soon nearby there so hopefully some can find work there. But it will definitely be tough for a lot of folks.
  3. You're welcome. Glad to help out!
  4. Also yes it has already or will be shortly shutting down completely. No buyer. Just closed up for good.
  5. Hmm looks like they may have changed names. It's called The Ranch House now 256-685-2002 Open 6am-9 pm
  6. Long Mike, There is a place in Town Creek that has what you are looking for. It's called The Farmhouse.
  7. Hmmm..Can't think of any that are real close by.. Killen Diner is fairly close..Its probably about 10-12 miles away. There are Hardee's and and Mcdonald's in Rogersville(about 7 miles away). Seems like there may be a place in Town Creek but I'm not sure. Haven't been through there in a while. Most of the other real close places are convienience stores that fix breakfast but not sure how much variety they offer,
  8. I think I know what you are talking about. Its prob. half a mile or less away actually. They do have a small deli. I haven't eaten there so I'm not sure of all the offerings. Its located at the corner of Highway 101 and Highway 184. There are a couple of convienence stores across the river that are that sort of thing too. They have biscuits and sandwiches. Nothing big.
  9. 1. Abu 2. Lew 3. Lunker 4. Bandit 5. Rage
  10. If anyone needs any info on how to get around down here such as directions to tackle shops, eatin' holes etc. hit me up. Also I run a meat market at a local grocery store so I can get a halfway decent price on meat for the cooks in the group. Just let me know what and how much a few days ahead of time.
  11. I have a pro ripper I got from Fishound. Used it a few times on Pickwick back in the late summer/early fall. Only thing I caught was a gar
  12. Wasn't aware they allowed year round camping at Colbert County Alloys Park. You may be getting it confused with the campground at Riverton/Rose Trail down on Pickwick. Year round "squatters" used to be a problem there but TVA put a stop to that.
  13. I haven't been down there in a while but I would agree with you.
  14. They are coming out with a system for clubs/tourneys http://majorleaguefishing.com/scoretrackerlive/index.html
  15. Just an FYI,. Unless they have fixed it I would not recommend using the boat ramp at Fisherman's resort. There is also a Wise Alloys campground with boat ramp about 4 or 5 miles away going back towards Muscle Shoals just off River Road. http://www.colbertcountytourism.org/index.php/2012-11-08-15-09-04/rv-parks-campgrounds Colbert County Alloys Park/Campground 180 Alloys Park Lane, Muscle Shoals, Al 35661Located on Wilson Lake, this new RV park/campground has RV, tent & primitive camping, electricity/water/sewage, dump station, bathhouse, boat ramp. Open year round. (256) 383-0783
  16. I really love the Strike King line of crankbaits. The 3XD, 5XD, and 6XD will take care of the 10-20ft range. The 3 and 4 series will take care of the shallower 3-10 ft. depth. I use any of the Shad colors, Sexy Shad, Citrus Shad, Sexy Chartreuse Shad, Gizzard Shad etc. I have a couple of other colors I use but can't remember what they are but I don't use them as much anyway. Also I have had good luck with the Bandit 200 series crankbaits for the 4-8 ft depth range. However I have really started to use Strike KIng almost exclusively.
  17. I primarily fish Pickwick too, but yes I have fished around the old train track, have not fished much standing timber, if at all.
  18. First, just let me say I haven't fished Wilson as much lately as I have in the past. Lots of sloughs and creeks on WIlson, more docks and boathouses than Pickwick for sure. Yes It's pretty easy to cover water on the main lake, but you also have lots of creeks you can run up in such as Shoal Creek, Bluewater, 6 mile creek and Big Nance. No submerged grass to fish, but there are weedlines and the like. I think patterns are interchangeable to some degree between Pickwick and Wilson. Current is always a factor, especially below Wheeler Dam. Also, a good place to check out monthly fishing reports for Wilson and Pickwick is http://www.aonmag.com/page.php?id=143&cid=178 Local guides contribute to these reports. 19. One of the sponsors on here, Valley Sports, has a sale going on through the 1st. Use Coupon Code BF13 for an additional 5% off
  20. Doublehead Lodge is located on Town Creek so you won't have much trouble there. If you get out on the main lake at times the current can be swift. Especially if it has rained a lot recently. TVA has a smartphone app that shows lake levels and current flow on the TVA chain of lakes. If you have a smartphone you could get it and check it out and get an idea of the usual current and water levels. If not here is a link to the TVA website with the same info. http://www.tva.com/river/lakeinfo/index.htm
  21. Pickwick is where I mainly fish and have been doing well lately. Catching 12-20 fish a trip. Mostly in the 1-2 lb range but have caught a couple of 3 lb smallmouths the last 2 trips.
  22. I haven't had any experience with Kayaks on the big river but I have seen folks use them in some of the creeks, i.e. Shoal Creek, Bluewater Creek, Town Creek, Big Nance. I personally would not feel comfortable getting out on the big river with them. But I am not experienced with them either! LOL .
  23. PS There are no bass in WIlson Lake
