Break Out Another Thousand

chances are it was probably just a headache but it doesnt hurt to get your shot. Im redoing my deck and got scrapped by a rusty nail about 3 weeks ago. I immediately came in the house and cleaned it out with alcohol. Havent died yet but i do plan on checking my records and going to get the shot if i need it.

Long story short i had a terrible morning walking the river bank. On the way back to my truck i decided that id toss a mepps out to see if that would change anything. It did, however because it was such a slow day i was lazy and tied a junk knot. I landed the fish (2.5ish smallie), had my thumb in its mouth when it started fighting again. I lost my grip but caught the line as the fish fell. The last thing i saw was the fish tumbling into the water with my lure still in its mouth. The knot slipped..... I ended up catching a small largemouth so i wasnt skunked but man i was so angry at myself.

I need to pick up a new spinning rod. I currently use a 6' medium ugly stik. Its been a decent rod but I feel like im missing out on a lot of feel with it. I fish a lot from the shore or small flat bottoms so i dont have the luxury of being able to take out a rod for every technique so I use mainly 1 spinning setup for most of my soft plastics. This new rod will be mainly used for weightless, shaky heads, and wacky. Id like to stay around 100-120 for the rod. at my local store i really like the st croix mojo series but i hear a lot about the *** here so i figured it would be best to ask for your opinions on which brand and specs. My local shop doesnt carry the 13s so i wont be able to get a look at them before i buy, but if they are superior id rather take a chance.

i hooked a popper into some shrubbery yesterday morning. I gave it a good yank and did a matrix move just barely missing getting hooked in the side of the face.

will i catch 9 out of 10 fish with them like the add says?

I usually fill the spool with mono backing so that there is at least one full layer of it, then i fill it with braid.

back when i was little i put a hook through a cigarette butt and slayed sunfish on it in a neighborhood pond.

looks interesting but i dont see it happening any time soon. How would it make change? Plus with that design the pizza would get cold flying through the air. Would we have to tip though?

Anyone know where i can order an individual hula skirt? Preferably in blue. I recently went through my great grandfathers tackle box and found an arbogast hula dancer that was in pretty rough shape. Its skirt was cut and the paint was chipped so i decided to do an overhaul on it. Im currently in the painting stage and would love to be able to put on another skirt without buying 10 of them. I've never done any lure making before so i was hoping you all could point me in the right direction.

I bought some floating worms the other day that actually say floating on the bag and they dont float. I want to think they are zoom, id have to check though. They do float in fast running water but sink in anything else.

Simple question. I like to fish new places. I've always done well fishing neighborhood ponds but haven't fished one in years. I was driving the other day and noticed a new development with a couple decent sized ponds with a lot of open (vacant) lots. Just wondering what the rule of thumb is on how to fish them. Is it ok to fish the open lots that havent been purchased?
