It depends on the spot. There are certain spots around here that you cant stretch your arms without hitting someone. If its that location i am fine with it. Otherwise, i am right there with you. I hate when people i dont know start crowding my spot when there is plenty of real estate. When shore fishing i dont stay in the same spot very long so ill just move. IMO when it comes to shore fishing, if the people are already standing next to you, and add in anxious kids, the spot is already ruined because of them stomping around. If you really want people to leave, just say that you want to warn them you have the flu or something else thats not serious but contagious. Most people arent going to want to stick around. Everyone has the same right to fish i agree, but that doesnt mean its not rude.

Didnt Chicago recently start allowing concealed carry permits as well?

I imagine the carp are quite big on the potomac. The only time ive ever been on it was a river boat dinner that took us past the reagan airport and i couldnt believe how much junk was in the water. Im not really a carp fisherman though. I mostly just stick with bass. Im also not going to be able to take a lot of rods with me so im going to leave the cat setup at home. Im really looking to catch something we dont have around here (snakehead), and from what i read i can catch them using bass equipment. So not only can i fish for bass (big fan) but at the same time possibly hook into something jeremy wade did an entire show about.

My buddy lives in the area and his says he sees signs that say to kill them and such. Would i be able to get into snakehead territory with a regular freshwater license? While i love catching small mouth, i kind of want to see what all this snakehead fuss is about while im out there.

Are the snakehead abundant in that area? Id love to catch one out there. But I thought they were rare. Ive also read a lot about bass fishing being tough out there with all the tournaments, is that a heavily fished area?

As far as licensing? I will be spending a week out in Maryland with a chance to bank fish the potomac. Im a little confused as to what i need to get, i see they have non tidal/ freshwater license does that cover the potomac? I thought i read somewhere that the potomac is a tidal river. Any advice is appreciated! Thanks

I am 100% with this. I see a lot of people talking about throwing search baits out and then moving to a slow bait . I start with the slow bait a majority of the time.

all my red hooks are gammys and i dont think they are inferior. They do chip up to gold, and they still catch fish. Im a firm believer that hook color doesnt make the slightest difference. If you cant catch fish with red hooks id bet money its a confidence factor.

The sign of a good red hook is one with the paint knocked off. If it comes in red ill buy it. I was always told it looks like blood or something. I dont believe that. I think they look cool though. I fish things without red hooks but ill go for red over black or any color. Now if they came out with blue hooks, i would be all over those.

This is spot on correct. Shotguns can be great home defense weapons, but for all the reasons listed they can also suck. The racking of the slide can tip off the intruder to your location, and that you are armed. Recoil, and pump action is going to cause it to be tougher to get back on target. They still require aiming and aren't a magical shot let everyone claims them to be. And they are tough to wield around a house, without training. Not that id recommend a female who is alone to go out and confront the intruder/s but if you had to move it would be a disadvantage.

I fish a pond similar to you. I didnt think it held big fish, i could catch a crappie or bass a cast. I got sick of it real quick so i started throwing big baits. Ended up catching a 5lber. Big baits dont always catch big fish, but it will eliminate a lot of small ones

My Grandfather is a retired OSI agent and swears by a .38 special. Ive never shot a snubby but have a S&w with a normal barrel length and can say i am honestly surprised how smooth shooting it is, and accurate. Not to mention the simplicity of using one. I would recommend though you get a .357. That way you can shoot both .38 special and .357. With the way ammo is anymore you are able to broaden your range of finding it.

I never was a big dipper. A bunch of people in my family do but I just never got the hang of it. I was constantly spitting as where they didnt have to spit every 10 seconds. I was a big fan of the cigs. Ive cut my line multiple times on accident because of it.
