  1. I want to assure everyone that the comment about KVD Line & Lure making line brittle is not even possible. It's like saying that hand lotion made your hands crack. The symptoms mentioned are not related to the use of Line & Lure. Even so, if fishtank is dissatisfied with the product we will gladly refund his money.
  2. Yea, if you want to live under a murdering communist dictator. Heck, you risk your life to even go Peacock fishing there anymore.
  3. Not that I like the oil situation better then any of you, but I always try to find a way to me put things into prospective. Helps keep me from going postal. The press rarely mentions the fact that the whole world (except OPEC nations they pay $ .50/Gl.) is being held hostage by OPEC. Here's a list of what other countries pay for gas. It could be worse! 4. Here's the skinny on Line & Lure with braid. Line & Lure will help your braid in a number of ways. 1. Wind knots are greatly reduced and if you get a w/knot they pull out very easy. 2. Line & Lure will help keep the factory finish from wearing off the braid because it reduces the friction that is inherent with braid. 3. Line will spool more uniformly using Line & Lure reducing the problems of line bury. The lessened friction is the key. Keeping the factory finish on braid will extend the life of the line and ensure more predictable performance with fewer problems. Treat those bulk/filler spools before you spool up. It's the easiest and surest way to get all the benefits from your Line & lure treatment. Rob
  5. By the way everybody, if your favorite shop is not carrying KVD Line & Lure, please ask them to start carrying it. Let them know that they can order it from Big Rock Sports distribution, American Rod & Gun, Pitman Creek Wholesale, Tom Coss fishing, Folsom Sports distribution, or of course directly from us. Making this suggestion to your favorite shops really is a great help to us and also makes things more convenient for you. Thanks for your support.
  6. Hey all, Sorry to hear about the sprayer problem that Dollarbill experienced. When you buy thousands of sprayers your bound to get a few bad ones. Remember that we guarantee the product and that includes the sprayer. Don't go out and buy one , just email us by getting on www.lineandlure.com and we'll send you a new one. Furthermore if you would like your testimonial posted on the L&L website for the world to see, we'd sure appreciate it. As far as reel loop penetration goes, three sprays directly on the line as close to the line as possible will treat at t least 50% of the spool depth (the part your casting). As some guys do, you can also cast on the grass or strip 50 yards of line then spray, reel up and re-spray. That will get the whole spool. I believe that treating your filler or bulk spools is the most effective way to deal with application. BTY casting on grass will not give you an indication of improved casting distance. Water is the deciding factor; it is the water that creates the casting resistance (drag) on the line. Casting on line grass is totally different then the dynamics of casting it in water. Thanks, The gang at KVD Line & Lure Conditioner
  7. Amen Quinn! We all need to support Casting Kids, or any "take a kid fishing program". There are many great kids out there that just need a helping hand and our prisons are overcrowded already.
  8. I started my son fishing at 2 years old with unbreakable equipment (Ugly stick and Zebco 202). Mind you, their attention span is about 30 seconds so be patient as you won't get much fishing done in fear of a hook imbedded in one of you or that he'll fall in, but memories you'll both cherish. One his first outing, I took my boy to a local pond. After rigging him up and trying to teach him the finer points of the proper cast, I realized defeat and left the child to invent his own tecnique with this new toy that I had entrusted him with. After better then an hour into this ordeal/adventure and having retrieved him soaking wet from the pond twice. I sat back and watched him guardedly while he dangling a night crawler in about 2 feet of water at the edge of a pond. With the fishing gods watching, bang the rod bends and the fight is on. I don't know to this day who was more startled him or me. Luckily there was only about 4 feet of line out ( NOTE: kids don't reel in line well). Anyway, he was able to drag his first fish to the bank without assistance. A nice 2 1/2 lb. large mouth lay there on the grass. The ensuing reality of his victory just about scared the kid to death. Fear faded with all the praise that I was giving him for his fishing prowess (luck) and the spot-light that ensued as we shared the story and the fish with neighbors, relatives and anyone else that would listen. (As you have gathered there was no catch and release story here.) That bass lived in our freezer for 5 years waiting to be paraded out on special occasions like school show and tell, family gatherings and the like. Time and decay wore on the poor old guy and one day he escaped the freezer. We never did figure out what happened to that fish after those 5 odd years and I guarantee that my wife isn't talking! The point is, the boy is now 25 years old and a fine man that I am very proud of. This experience is the earliest memory he has and he occasionally tells of it. When the story of that first fish passes his lips, I see that little boy with such pride telling the story just as he did so many years ago to his kindergarten class. I believe that this experience and the other outdoor adventures we shared helped make my son the honest and loving person he is. What those times did for me is priceless.
  9. There Carp. Fun to catch!
  10. Welcome!
  11. Awsome Bobby.
  12. Great trip, great group of guys.
  13. I love Brim, yum...all sunfish. So do the bass.
  14. L&L will keep the braid's factory finish from wearing off 2-3 times longer. Line & Lure keeps water bourne dirt and silt from getting into the fibers of braid. These particles act like sandpaper on the line fibers as well as the rod guides and any other parts that the line might touch. The benifits of using it on braid are: Longer line life (and rod guide) Flatter lay on spool Less line bury on the spool during a good fight Major reduction in wind knots Make sure you let the first application dry completely. I suggest treating to bulk spools when you buy them. Then their alteady treated when you spool up.
  15. Try using KVD Line & Lure Conditioner on braid too. It will make you casting longer, more accurate. Your braid will last longer before fuzing and will reduce the wear on the guides. Check out the threads on it here on the forum.
  16. Try using KVD Line & Lure Conditioner on your P-line. It will make you casting longer, more accurate and easier Check out the threads on it here on the forum.
  17. Before you respool and even afterwards try using KVD Line & Lure Conditioner on your P-line. It will take most the stiffness/wiryness out of the line much better then Reel Magic. It will make your casting longer and more accurate too. Check out the threads on it here on the forum.
  18. Hey All, Thanks for your great comments and open minds about KVD Line & Lure Conditioner. We anglers are constantly bombarded with new products that claim to be the newest and the best. It makes one get very skeptical to most everything. I hope all the positive comments about Line & Lure are starting to convince most of you. We know that by giving Line & Lure a fair try, you will see the value the product offers. As KVD, Bill Dance and many others have stated, just the reduced occurrence of backlash and blow-outs you get using L&L could mean the difference between just another tournament and a money finish or the fish of a lifetime. Heck the fact that line last so much longer when treated is enough motivation for the crew I hang around with. The point is that Line & Lure will make just about any fisherman a more accurate, confident caster. Would those of you that would like to sample Line & Lure Conditioner be willing to pay $1.00 for a 1ounce bottle (1/4 of a full size bottle) to cover postage? If so, I will set up such an offer. We are very proud of the new Line & Lure boat wrap now plying the waters at Lake Fork, TX. This new 520 Ranger belongs to James Caldemeyer at officiallakeforktrophybass.com. He's one great guy and a master guide on the lake. If you're ever on Lake Fork make sure you look him up.
  19. Like is said in this thread KVD Line & Lure and Reel Magic are two completely different things. Read the Line & Lure thread from this form at: http: // bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1204938772 from March 7th. here is an excerpt. The Line & Lure Story I would like to point out a few dynamics of our product that will help you better understand some of the benefits an angler can expect with the regular use of Line & Lure and why it is miles ahead of the others line products. The only real commercial competition for Line & Lure is Blakemore's Reel Magic. It needs to be stated that oil based line dressings like WD-40 and Reel Magic have been around since the 1950's and were used to address some of the problems that anglers were experiencing with monofilament line, the predominant line of the time. Reel Magic and WD-40 is merely silicone oil with added petroleum distillates that are listed as toxic by the EPA and on the product's label. The silicone oil adds some level of lubrication to line but is very temporary. Just how temporary these products are, can easily be observed when casting after a fresh application. One will plainly see the oil slick it leaves on the water surface. We anglers love the waterways that we fish, so why would we use or condone the use of toxic products that wash into lakes, rivers and bays? Reel Magic and WD-40 does have a relaxing effect on the corkscrew memory that we see in monofilament line due to the petroleum solvents added to it. Unfortunately, these solvents reduce memory by literally dissolving the outer surface of the line, thereby weakening it. The use of these products, can contribute up to a 50 % loss of monofilament's line strength in just a few days. If that wasn't bad enough, these oils and solvents sprayed onto reel spools are also getting into the reel's moving parts including bearings, gears and seals. The very nature of the oil in these products draws and holds dirt to these parts, negatively affecting their performance and lifespan. The solvents in the products are known to degrade the seals that the manufacturer built into the reel to protect the inner moving parts. Ask any professional reel repair technician and chances are that he will agree. On the other hand, Line & Lure contains a blend of non-toxic, polymers that are not found in any other line dressing or conditioner. The proprietary polymer blend in Line & Lure imparts a coating to line that actually bonds to the line's surface. In theory, this bond becomes a permanent part of the line. The only way to remove this coating is to abrade it from the line, by friction. The polymers fill any line surface imperfections and create a very uniform and smooth microscopic coating on the line. This smooth surface is inherently more resistant to friction than an untreated one. In this case, this phenomenon provides multiple benefits. First, as friction does start to attack the line (as it goes through the rod guides, over obstacles, etc.), the polymer acts as a sacrificial buffer to that friction. Practically, our replaceable polymer finish wears instead of the line itself. This of course extends the line's life tremendously. Secondarily, these polymers are extremely hydrophobic, meaning that they literally push water away at the molecular level. This hydrophobic action reduces the amount of water that is retained on the line during a retrieve. It is this water surface tension on the reel spool that is a major contributor to casting distance restriction. This phenomenon is further demonstrated when we take into consideration the reduction in backlash with bait casting reels and blow-outs on spinning reels that anglers find when using Line & Lure. This surface tension principle is the same thing that one experience when they pick up a sweating drinking glass and find the coaster being picked up with the glass. The less water on the line, the less the resistance caused by surface tension. This equals much longer casts and fewer backlashes! It is also easy to see that with less water retention on the line there will be less contaminants coming back up on to the reel. This is especially important when fishing in saltwater. As we all know, it is the salt crystals that form in-between the loops of line on reels that cause a lot of the wear damage to fishing line. This salt also invades the seals on reels and over time acts like sandpaper wearing on reel components. Just as on the line, the polymers in line & Lure protect the seals from the elements, helping keeping them in prime condition. The anticorrosive properties of Line & Lure also dramatically reduce corrosion damage to rod, reel and artificial bait surfaces. Simply put, Line & Lure greatly extends the useful life of fishing equipment, lines and baits. Line and lure contains extremely high sunscreen protection. This sunscreen blocks the UV rays from sunlight. UV radiation has a massively destructive effect on fishing line. Fishing line can literally burn at about half the rate as unprotected human skin! Using Line & Lure on your line is equivalent to using an SPF 30 on your skin. The competition has no more UV protection then baby oil. Anglers are very happy with the benefits that they get using Line & Lure on monofilament line, but please keep in mind that Line & Lure was primarily designed by Kevin VanDam and RMR Industries to address the inherent problems anglers experience with fluorocarbon, co-polymers and braided lines. Other line dressings have little or no positive effect on these hi-tech lines. After 1-½ years in development and testing by thousands of anglers around the world, Line and Lure has been proven to work effectively on any type of line made by any manufacturer. In addition, it is the only line conditioner that positively affects the flexibility, knot strength, casting and control of fluorocarbon line. Anglers using Line & Lure can expect the following benefits: · Longer casts.......guaranteed! · Virtually eliminates line memory, backlash, tangles, and twists · Restores new line performance to old tired line · Fights saltwater corrosion on reels, rods and tackle · Leaves no oily residues or scents like other line treatments · Contains no polluting petroleum distillates as in other conditioners · Fights fading and damage to gear with high sunscreen · Reduces water spotting on electronics & sunglasses · Environmentally safe - non-toxic · Superior Fly Line Dressing · Unsurpassed de-icing performance in ice fishing
