  1. Any 7-7.5' H rod will handle the small stuff.
  2. Editing. It makes a better show. They can cut stuff and add stuff that will make a 100% more dramatic, better show overall. Yep. Due to the geographic spread of the tournament area, there was no way they were going to be able to have time to edit all the footage in time to air the way they have the last few years. Live weigh-in would have been nice, but I'll take five good hours next weekend.
  3. You're just a dirty old man Mike. Dirty I say. :-X
  4. Just finished. Good stuff in what KVD was saying.
  5. Yep, the older I get, the less I trust my colon.

  7. NASCAR, professional fishing, etc. They are all sponsor driven. Without the sponsors, the sports wouldn't exist. How many of these fishermen could afford to fish the Elite Series without sponsors? How many drivers could afford to drive a full NASCAR schedule without sponsorship (where a major sponsor will spend 10-15 million per season)?
  8. : Posted everywhere on this site... Strike King spinnerbait (according to KVD at press conference, available only from BPS) and SK KVD 1.5 in chart/black back.
  9. What, no photo of Remitz's log donkey?
  10. Yep. Sounds stupid, but I've seen people try to use a 1 7/8" ball with a 2" coupler and vice versa. Good way to get yourself into trouble.
  11. That is what gets me! Brand new lures that are not even on the market yet. So, how much of their catches are because of something new the bass have not seen before? Virtually nil. It isn't as if these new baits are game-changing. They're basic plastic baits (if you're referring to the new Berkley baits) with a few little design changes. It's the indian, not the arrow.
  12. Here's the reality of the situation. Without (as you put it) all this 'product pushing', these guys wouldn't be able to fish what they fish. If they don't make money for a sponsor (and I'd love to know what KVD's impact has been for Strike King and Quantum over the last four to five years), they don't fish. If they don't get that sponsorship, then professional bass fishing doesn't exist. I just do not understand why so many take so much offense with people plugging products for which they get paid to advertise. Just cannot fathom the mindset.
  13. TW is already sold out of the 1.5 and 2.5 chart/black back. Back ordered for a month. ;D
  14. SK spinnerbait, KVD 1.5 crankbait.
  15. Fishing a tournament on Watauga Lake in extreme eastern TN (about 15 miles from NC) last spring. About 45 boats gathered at the mouth of the creek waiting to blast off. Just before daylight, severe T-storm moves through. Lake went from flat calm to 2-3' waves. Wind picked up to 20-25. Lake lays in a long E-W valley. We're taking off from the dam and I've got a 8 or 9 mile run to my first spot. We blast off and as soon as I hit the main lake (I run a Tracker PT185), I knew we were in for a fun ride. We were going with the wind, so it wasn't too bad. Still did a lot of wave hopping. Got nice and wet too. Wind never let up all day. We ended up working our way back up the river, almost as far as you can go. Got into a few fish, wasn't paying attention to the wind. As we started fishing our way back towards the main lake, wind started picking up again. Heading back to the ramp, 3-5' waves and we're going into them. Speared a couple of waves, stayed pretty dry though. My back wasn't right for a week. That was one of the two or three times I've ever been scared on the water. Another time was on KY Lake at the Roadtrip in 09. Fivebasslimit and I fishing on the E side of the lake, wind really picked up from the W. Hella-big waves coming right at us as we made our way back across to Hester's. Even in a 22' boat, that was a scary ride. I didn't want to make that crossing. Didn't say anything to 5bass, but I almost shat myself a few times.
  16. If you lie down and look up inside the coupler, you'll see a 'shoe' on the rear of the coupler. The lever on top of the coupler moves that towards the ball and locks. If you're having trouble locking the coupler, you need to adjust the shoe. There should be a nut on the back of the shoe. You'll need to loosen that up a bit. Play with it until the coupler locks securely and you're able to get the safety clip in place. Make sure you grease the inside of the coupler with a good grease. I see far too many people run their couplers and balls dry. As for other trailer maintenance, check your lights, ground, bunks, tires (tread, sidewalls and air pressure), winch and strap. Wheel bearings are the most important part. Jack up one side of the trailer and see if there is any wobble in the wheel. Repacking the bearings would be a good thing to do with a new-to-you trailer.
  17. If everyone else can't keep up, sucks to be them.
  18. I plug the hell out of Shimano, Yamamoto, Jewel jigs, Strike King and Spro crankbaits and I don't get a dime from any of them.
  19. If you use Yamamoto baits, it will happen. Chew on an actual Senko and you'll see what I mean.
  20. What is this hoaring you speak of? :-?

I think that area still has some fish in it. He clearly has the spot within the spot or has found out something to get those bigger fish to bite. He had 10 pounds more than Martens or Rook who were literally on top of him. I'm surprised between the three of them they only boated 20 keepers today. Should be good.... Same story as last year on Lay. VanDam had that one spot that just produced and reloaded. He's no mere mortal.

  23. Burley, did you read this? It's great advice, pal. Nah, he had five men in the backfield before the snap. ;D
