  1. Me too. My Reebok cap blew off while I was running back to a weigh-in so I had to let it sink. :'( I figured it would be easy to find another one but I haven't been able to yet. The search is going on 2 years now. The FlexFit Mitchell and Ness caps are nice and fit really well. I cant do the flat bill caps....they just plain suck, plus I'm more than 15 years old. Flat bill is the worst abomination in the history of mankind.
  2. I assume the '****' to which you are referring is simply magnesium oxide. IOW, 'rust'.
  3. I don't know, the 89ish Score was prob. the best. Can't find it online. And I don't recall the photo of me with the hat. :-?
  4. Not as much overhead as BPS. And by offering free shipping for orders >$50, they encourage more spending. I know I won't order unless I have >$50 of merchandise. And there have been many occasions where I'll increase an order to get the free shipping. One of many reasons TW is the absolute best tackle retailer in the country.
  5. I bought Tommy a flex-fit Skins hat for his B-day a few years ago. Have yet to see him wear it. Much like all other brands, the Reebok stuff is hit-or-miss. My Cowboys hat is a draft day hat was an anniversary gift from the ol' lady a couple of years ago. Great fit. Bought a plain Colts hat last fall that fits the same way (pretty much exactly like the Cowboys coach's hat with the block D). Have tried on a few of the Reebok flexes that fit horribly. Hats are terribly personal and I'm very particular about the way I like my hat to fit. I've got two Shimano hats from the roadtrip a couple of years ago that rarely get worn. The crown is too high and I can't pull it down to where I like it without it hitting my ears. I look like George Bell circa 1989 Score wearing them.
  6. Almost as much as I hate having a size S Castlewood hat. :
  7. I've got a couple of Cubs hats, a couple of TN Smokies hats and a couple of UT hats in my junk hat pile. Have a nice Cowboys mesh Reebok that fit pretty well (almost all of the flex fit Reebok NFL hats I've tried fit quite well) as well. Really wanted another UT mesh last fall, but couldn't find anything in the bookstore.
  8. Probably not. The Core 100MGFV is as close as you'll get. I doubt there is much of a market for the Castaic. Honestly surprised they're still manufacturing it.
  9. The New Era flex fits are strange. I've got a couple of Cubs 3930's. The BP hat's crown is too tall and exhibits the same problems as the 5950. The mesh-backed 3930's are great and fit quite well. I've grown quite partial to mesh-backed hats over the last few years. The 3930 is one of the best. My main reason for liking the flex fit is that with my huge melon, most 'one size fits most' hats do not fit. The L/XL flex fit is perfect.
  10. What does the number of axles have to do with needing brakes? Weight is weight and unless you're pulling with a heavy truck (e.g. F250/350, etc), you're always better off to have some extra braking.
  11. Some of the hardest plastics I've ever fished.
  12. Mmmm, sand-battered bass.
  13. You're all insane. Clinically insane.
  14. What is the difference, for your eyes sake, between a 50 dollar pair of polarized sunglasses and a 200 dollar pair? Pardon my ignorance I'm really curious. Ultraviolet light damages your eyes. Quality sunglasses prevents that. Wear a pair of cheap ones on a bright day. Then wear a pair of quality glasses on an equally bright day.
  15. As for appearance of the rod, photos do not do it justice.
  16. Man.............your old lady must be sore this morning. She wanted it worse than I did. Doubtful unless were still talking about the NRX. Both.
  17. Are your eyes worth only $50 or less?
  18. What's reason #1? :-? 2011 will be another year without baseball in October. Patience is a virtue.
  19. What's reason #1? :-?
  20. I didn't know you batted for the other team.
  21. It's small enough that I think it wouldn't be as obtrusive as the foregrips on their other rods. I have yet to lay hands on an NRX casting rod, but from looking at photos, I assume the core foregrip turns. If it does that and covers the threads, it's a good design. My only complaint with my Kistlers is that the threads on the seat sometimes irritate my middle and ring fingers.
