Made it a point to put the card back in it's case last June, now if only I could find the expletive deleted expletive deleted expletive deleted expletive deleted expletive deleted expletive deleted d**n case. With my luck, I'll order another from TW tomorrow and then find the old one next week.

kvd's lures at classic
Tried the 2.5 and 1.5, they wanted the smaller bait more. Also said he put #2 KVD trebles on them.

What length and action rod was KVD using on the 1.5
Most likely the 7' MH or 7'4 M http://www.***.com/Quantum_Tour_KVD_Cranking_Casting_Rods/descpage-QKVDC.html

The UK Top Gear crew visited North Wilkesboro last summer, episode aired a couple of weeks ago. Have to say it brought back a few memories. If I was making the Cup schedule, they would visit Bristol, Martinsville, Richmond, N. Wilkesboro, Rockingham and Darlington twice a year. California, Texas, Charlotte, Dover, Michigan, and Pocono would get one race a year. Phoenix, Homestead, Chicago and Kansas would get zero races a year.

green or blue mirrored glass vs regular copper lens?
My eye wasn't sensitive enough to detect much of a difference between the amber and green mirror. I bought mine from a shop at the beach. Shop owner and I walked down to the water with the amber and green mirror and tried them out. Both were more than adequate on a very sunny day. The mirrored were just a bit too flashy for me. That said, when I buy another pair of CDM's, I will most likely opt for the silver mirror.

green or blue mirrored glass vs regular copper lens?
I can't speak for Wiley, but... Costa mirrored lenses block more light. The green mirror (if memory serves it has a copper or amber base) vs the stander amber lens (in 400 glass) transfers about 10% less light than the amber. IOW, if you're fishing strictly middle of the day situations, the mirrored lenses are probably your best bet. I debated on green mirror vs. amber when I purchased. Opted for amber and haven't seen any reason I would want the mirrored.

my question is: why not change your engine and start at the rear? makes zero difference where you start on the plate tracks... on a side note, odd the 500 winner isnt the points leader. I follow Harvick on Twitter and he never gave any indication about engine problems. Here's his tweet after final practice. KevinHarvick Kevin Harvick Made 6 laps no leaks or vibrations so we are ready to race! 19 Feb Favorite Retweet Reply I just think that with Daytona being the flagship race, it would be wise for NASCAR to say, hey, change those engines before the big one. But yes, starting from the back isn't a big deal at Daytona and Dega.

Copolymers for topwater?
I found both lines very manageable, matched rated strength and Has no issues with abrasion. When I think I need fluorocarbon, these are the two I will fish. Back to Yo-Zuri again...A fundamental advantage of the line is it's actual breaking strength. Generally I think this feature outweighs other factors, especially in the smaller diameters. In gin clear water I can't see #4 original Hybrid and #12 is still stealthy! 8-) The Hybrid is not as strong as CXX, nor as abrasion resistant.

tungsten weights
If you pull the inserts, I hope you retie every 10 casts or so. The reason that insert is there is to keep the rough surface inside that weight from ruining your line. The weights without inserts are finished in a way to not damage your line. Having spent several months using tungsten with inserts and having lost about $50 worth of weights due to line breakage, I won't use them anymore.

Classic winning lure
In the press conference, he said that he spent a lot of time with SK getting the 1.5 and 2.5 just right. He wanted a bait that was very erratic and didn't just move in a straight line with a normal wobble. I remember watching a video with Patrick Sebile (may have been on Tackle Warehouse) where he talked about the engineering of crankbaits and how fluid hydraulics and pressure influenced the way they ran. It's been a while since I've watched it and perhaps that wasn't even where I've heard about the erratic movements. If memory serves, the thinking was that pressure would build on one side of the bait until it overcame the pressure from the opposite side, which would cause the bait to dart wildly to one side. As I've spent more and more time fishing crankbaits over the last couple of years, it has become obvious to me that for the most part it is all about the retrieve. Banging into rocks & wood, starting and stopping the retrieve, giving the bait a good jerk to one side occasionally. Regardless of the engineering and what limited skill I have with a crankbait, it is obvious that VanDam is nothing less than a true master of the reaction bite.

Dont make junk and you wont have to worry about it. Junk? Burton, Boyer and Harvick were the class of the field up until Sunday. Harvick and Burton suffered engine failure and Boyer was right there at the front all day until he got taken out by Newman.

If a Ford had to win, it was nice to see the Wood Brothers make it to Victory Lane. The two-by-two racing wasn't the most exciting. I really wish NASCAR would let teams change engines after the 125's. Asking a lot for those engines to last through qualifying, practices, the 125's and then 500 miles on raceday. Yeah, I'm ticked that 50% of RCR lost their engines.

seeking your line opinions
Braid on a spincaster? That's a recipe for distaster. Line pickup probably wouldn't last a week.

- Copolymers for topwater?
x2, I bent a flippin' jig hook on a log trying to unsnag it. It was 12 lb. line. Very strong stuff. VERY tough though, hard to manage. I wouldn't feel underpowered throwing 8# or 10# on a baitcaster for jigs and plastics. Depends on cover.- Wanna be like KVD? Get 'em while ya can!
I'll do anything to catch fish. Hell, I spent my last three tournaments last year throwing a drop shot and everyone knows just how much I hate that.- Copolymers for topwater?
PLine CXX will do everything you ask it to do and then some.- Wanna be like KVD? Get 'em while ya can!
Don't think I haven't thought about it. Hard for me to spend that much on a Quantum though.- Classic winning lure
Why wouldn't you?- Wanna be like KVD? Get 'em while ya can!
I know you already ordered a couple pair before you posted this link don't lie. I'm pretty partial to Under Armour footwear, but if BPS has them in stock the next time I'm there, I'll probably try them on. I'm a KVD *********, but not that big of a *********. I am thinking about ordering a KVD hat however. :-[- Bassmasters Classic Final Weigh-in
Just finished. Good stuff in what KVD was saying. The press conferences after the weigh-ins is where you get the golden info. Just listening to the guys talk and answer the questions is priceless. Very little product pushing, just info about their spots, how the bite was, why they chose their spot, etc....awesome stuff. Yep. Gold Jerry! Gold! - Copolymers for topwater?
