  1. Hey All, I visit my brother in law down in Jacksonville a few times a year and since I have just gotten into bass fishing within the last 6 months I want to do some bassin while I am down there this coming spring. Could any of the fine Florida folks point me in the direction of a good reputable bass fishing guide in the Jacksonvill area. Thanks for your time! Tight Lines and Happy Fishing Joshua
  2. Was def gonna give you a call Ron, unfortunately with the holidays and other life events it will probably be around march when I will be able to upgrade. If they are gone at that point I may check with you on another Dobyns series or maybe the Denali Kovert.
  3. Thank you all for your prayers and kind words. Nice to know folks in this crazy world still care. God Bless! Joshua
  4. I have decided on which rods I am going to purchase come spring to step up from my "entry level" stuff. I have heard great things about Dobyns on here and really like the Coalition Weapon series. So I believe the CW 703C & 704C will take care of my senko, spinnerbait, t-rig, frog and jig needs, but for soft plastic swimbaits from 5in paddletales up to say a Mattlures U2 bluegill would you go for the 705C or the 735C? Also if I have something confused with the needs covered by the other rods let me know. I would love to buy every model but that won't happen lol. Your knowledge is much appreciated! 7. Yes, haven't tried a glass rod for cranking so this is a great time to give them a go!
  8. Really bad day not mistake day
  9. my mistake day was yesterday, had nothing to do with fishing. My wife miscarried for the second time this year. That's three babies I'll get to hold someday when the good Lord takes me home, but I got out for a few hours today and man did the water and little bit of fishing sooth me. Its amazing how therapeutic fishing can be! I'm in a much better state now than before.
  10. Don't know why I never thought of it before but I took the head rest off of the passenger front seat, leaned the seat back a bit and put the butt end of my rods on floor and seny the tips over the seat. Worked great! Thanks for making me think a little folks.
  11. How do you arrange them in the cab? I have been putting the 7ft rod through the back driver side door and passing it through my front seats with the butt against the rear panel the tip has roughly 1.5in of space between it and the dash beside the passenger side door. Maybe I am just not using enough imagination here lol.
  12. I have a Ford F-150 Crew Cab with a short bed. Up until my recent 7 ft medium action casting rod aquisition I have only had 6.5 ft rods that fit fine in the bed of my truck corner to corner. Well the 7 footer doesnt sit well and I don't like how it puts a slight bend in the tip as it rests in the bed. I really dont want to cause any damage while driving. What options do I have for rod storage accesories that arent crazy expensive? Tight Lines and Happy Fishing Joshua
  13. Gonna grab the clear water squarebill and lipless crank models when my OT check hits on Friday...thanks for the heads up!
  14. Have not had a chance to fish it yet but I spent some time casting my new mettle reel in the yard on Thanksgiving and holy crap is this thing smooth. Hoping it holds up well on the water and if does I will buy several next time I catch them on sale. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and a merry start to the Christmas season. Tight lines and happy fishing!
