  1. So the chronarch is all brass and the Stradiv ci4 is different. Hope the brass can hold up.
  2. This is line that is NOT for bass fishing! It is for saltwater fishing
  3. One gear is machined aluminum I believe and the other is brass so it meshes better.
  4. I caught a slab crappie, about a 2.5 lber in strong current and it fought like a 5+ pound bass! Got the best reactions when I pulled it on my boat and it was a crappie hahaha
  5. I will ask some other stores and see what they say. If they all say midway through this month, then maybe shimano stepped it up this year.
  6. I'm would say wait till the new reels come out after icast. There are some sweet new reels coming out!
  7. Pinnacle is coming out with new reels that are pretty sweet. So is ardent and pflueger. I would wait another month for these new reels.
  8. I talked to a bass pro live chat assistance person about the chronarch and he said that it will available mid way through this month... This is awesome news
  9. I see lots of pros that do this, but I see some that don't. For example, Ott defoe tells exactly what he's using.
  10. It is used for ice fishing. It is like a saltwater jigging reel, but on a spinning reel mount so that you can use it on light power spinning ice rods and you can reel it in like a spinning reel. It looks weird but cool
  11. At least it learned its lesson.
  12. I once had a snapper crack my lipless crank bait. The side of it was cracked off. Snappers are such a pain sometimes...
  13. I just got the Lew's tourney pro's I ordered and it is awesome! Pitching/flipping is effortless and casting is smooth and easily goes 30-50 yards.. Haven't tried lighter lures yet, but I am sorta looking forward to see how it handles them! I love this thing so far!
  14. How do you get that award? I caught a few that were around that size at a local pond..
  15. Friend of mine was fishing with me and he caught a bream on a 7" worm. It wasn't even hooked, the worm was just stuck in his mouth haha it was hilarious..
  16. I catch grass carp on flies often. It sure is tough to get them to bite but it is fun when they do!
  17. Locate a creek channel and fish it SLOW with jigs or something similar that you are confident in. Oh, and by slow I mean 4-5 minute retrieves if necessary to catch fish..
  18. I would say smallies fight hardest pound for pound, but I recently had an encounter with a spooted that basically defied everything I ever learned...
  19. If you don't like fluoro (I don't like it much either), go with copoly. It has some qualities that mono has that fluoro doesn't and vice-versa. It is a nice medium between the two lines.
  20. They took the page down.. Shimano probably didn't want it up till the day they can sell it. People were probably ordering the ci4s off basspro before they even came out and there was probably a lot in backorder.
  21. Zona said "right after icast, check these out".. they might be in stores by the end of july!
  22. Maybe they will be in stores sooner than people think.. Zona said "after icast make sure you check these out" in that video about the ci4+. Hopefully they will be in stores in late july
  23. Bass pro has already made a page for the ci4+! it will be a 150 size reel comes in both R and L retrieves 7.6 and 6.2 gear ratios weighs 6.5 oz 11 lb drag line capacity is 12/110, braid is 30/135 7+1 bearings http://www.basspro.com/Shimano-Chronarch-CI4-Baitcasting-Reels/product/1306150615192/ Don't forget to zoom in on that new braking system on the sideplate of the reel! It looks sweet! I'm so excited
  24. Here are some tips: Hook set direction Don't set the hook sideways because it can pull the hook out of the fish. Set the hook up at a 11-1 a clock direction Jig modifications spread the weed guard every hour or so, if it is too thick it is harder to set the hook. Bend the weed guard around. This will keep it spread out. Fish it really slow this time of year, and watch the line.
