Do they have a timeline for adding Lowrance support?

Do you do a lot of pitching with a 7' rod now? I much prefer a 7'6" and I also dont really care for a split grip on a pitching rod since I like a little bit more weight on the handle.

I tie on the weighted trebles and start casting out of control. If that doesnt work I start preaching to my crankbaits. Have not had to think up a 3rd tactic yet.

There is always the option of hiring a guide if your set on snakeheads now (sorry lol).

Your fine with just freshwater md licence then. Just stay north of dc and disregard that whole bottom rig thing lol. Bring a frog rod and get you some snakehead! Fwiw you might check out a VA license instead, there tends to be a little better access on that side of the river for the area your going to be in.

It really depends on where you fish as far as licence goes. If your not on a boat it makes it a whole lot easier, can you be more specific on exactly where you plan to fish?

I set mine just tight enough to not slip on the hookset. That changes significantly depending on if I am fishing a crankbait or a jig. I try and make it a habit to adjust the drag whenever I adjust spool tension since I do that every lure change. I think of it like this, I can easily and quickly adjust after I have the fish on but nothing I can do if I miss the hookup.

You dont really need to know the gear ratio, you can spool some line on the reel and measure inches per turn which is just as good if not better information to have.

I have a revo s 6.4:1 on a 7' mh veritas rod and it is a great combo. I used to have a lews speed spool on the rod and i hated the reel, the mg is probably a better comparison to the revo s but my experience with lews made me jump ship pretty quickly. I have a revo toro winch in 4.6:1 on my okuma guide 7'11" h as a swimbait setup and I am also very happy with that. It will take some serious convincing for me to buy another non revo reel in the future although rods are another story. At the 100 mark there are a ton of good options and veritas is as good as any plus there are rebates on a combo from abu (thats the only reason I went veritas vs ***).
