  1. Does anyone make a Pro Senko or Thin Senko knock off? Of all the stick baits I have used, these have produced the best for me but they are even more fragile than the regular ones and it is pretty easy to go through 2 packs a day when thats what they want. It's kinda hard to justify $20 in plastics for some reason even though I have lost way more on lost cranks with far fewer fish and that never bothered me too much....
  2. Dig for worms. Seriously, its up to you how much you spend. I have been unemployed and dug worms, caught fish and fed my family. I have thrown a $75 bait on a $400 rig as well and released the fish, there is lots in between and most, if not all works and will give you enjoyment if your grateful for what you have.
  3. I keep 6 3700's behind me and a deep 3700 in front of me that has all the baits I think I will be using that day along with any related terminal tackle, this also serves as my dump box as I switch lures throughout the day. I also have a Native Ultimate with raised seat that I keep a 16"x16"x4" deep box that has all my plastics and scents. Most days I never use anything out of the 6 3700's in the rear but it makes me feel good to have it, plus I have a 450# capacity and a bassyak so I am not worried about paddling the extra weight
  4. Check out neoprene dive gloves. They make a huge range of thicknesses from 1mm neoprene up to 9mm so you have a much better selection than the "fishing" neoprene gloves.
  5. Yeah, give it one year maybe. Depends on how deep their pockets are to support an outdated and shady business model, but my guess is since their "launch" is sporting such a nice selection of only jigs they are not too deep.
  6. Man that is sweet! So we now will have 3 companies competing on this technology, I imagine that will speed up the features curve. My elite 5 can record and has gps so do you think lowrance will eventually support this sonar charts or try and keep it on the hds and up just to try and get the extra $ on the upgrade? This is where I was confused on the compatibility http://www.navionics.com/sites/www.navionics.com/files/documents/Americas_CompatibilityGuide_v16_Jan28th2013.pdf.pdf Oh yeah, are you using the lakemaster? In Virginia????
  7. Thats really great. I bought my lowrance elite5 this year with the intention of using dr depth to create my own maps but 3 weeks after i bought it the product was discontinued. I like the sonar charts option better than the lake insight option and I would like to start doing some mapping myself. It looks like the cheapest option on lowrance finders is hds5 but with structure scan it is still over $1k. Not real familiar with hb but is there a compatible unit with sidescan and sonar charts capability that is less than that? Can sidescan be added later like with structure scan? Im on a kayak so 5" screen is plenty big for me. Id look used but I want to make sure that it is compatible with sonar charts and sidescan.
  8. Thanks, I always wondered if the sonar charts data was available through the web app and now I know how to turn it on. I can't believe there is still no chart for Occoquan Res but it looks like people have been busy mapping out Hunting Run.
  9. The bait company part sounds great. The distribution method sounds horrible. Supposedly the site is launching tomorrow so it will be interesting to see how they present it. If it is no minimum order and geared towards the end user I would be pleasantly surprised. If it is geared towards getting people to buy a briefcase of gear and hawk it at the docks I imagine it will be a short lived venture. Some ideas are better left in the 70's.
  10. Does anyone have a picture of one (not the graphics from the order form)?
  11. You could probably make a simple parallel wiring harness that would allow all 3 to be charged at the same time. My guess is the trickle charger from solar power is going to be pretty low current so small gauge wire and clips will work and be cheap. There are some disadvantages to doing it this way but if it is in a storage unit without power the trade off might be worth it. I would suggest giving them a full charge with a decent charger before storing and then leave the charger hooked up as a maintainer if that is a possibility.
  12. Im looking at the same two but there are a couple things that are making me lean towards xi5. The footpedal looks better and it looks like it has spotlock on the pedal, that is a big deal imho. I use lawrance electronics already and being in VA lakemaster is non existent. That said, I would not drop that kind of cash for a tm on its first year. The xi5 is compelling enough though for me to put off my purchase for a year so i can let others be the Guinea pigs and maybe I will get a chance to use in person before making final choice.
  13. +3 on duct seal. I used it as a temp solution until I figured out a permanent spot but it worked so good I had no reason to move it. I may move it into the water next season just to get better temp readings but the graph readings are perfect with this method.
  14. Thanks to the thread a little bit ago about good reading material I put a ton of stuff on my amazon wishlist, I got about 10 books that are highly recommended by y'all.
  15. Add me to the list of happy campers with the Revo Toro Winch for this application.
  16. Man, I really dig the simplicity of this. Can you tell me more about it? Any more pics with it loaded for a day on the water?
  17. 1. Hp restrictions instead of speed limits 2. I need 5 state licenses 4 non residents to fish a 50 mile radius. 3. Migratory birds and their nps guardians.
  18. I can if I buy a used boat Yeah, the wife will buy that.....
  19. I'm torn between two: 1. Spend less money 2. Buy a new boat
  20. What retrieve/ presentation do you use for lipless in the cold? Targeting suspended fish or on structure?
