dealing with rude ignorant people while fishing
Is this seriously a question? What to do when street gangs attack while bass fishing???? Fish somewhere else

Is it common/acceptable...
Could be. Some are just hull some are the whole package.. I have no clue what the laws are in tennesee or florida, I just named the most restrictive and if I'm wrong then yay for you! lol I suppose you could have him remove the electronics from the sale since they technically are not part of the original boat, and just buy those from him separately. Dunno how that would work in terms of state taxes, I know on his end he is paying income tax on everything. You would have to pay with two checks (or cash), one for the boat and one for the electronics I'm sure. That seems like it would be different than just writing in a lower amount (tax fraud) as we originally thought you were asking about. I'm no lawyer though.. if in doubt call one.

Its illegal, so no. You pay vehicle/boat/rv sales tax on the whole purchase (total amount), seller pays income tax on whole amount. You will be charged for registering the hull with the state, plus transfer fees on all titles (boat and trailer). If the boat, motor, and trailer all have separate sales records or titles be sure the seller divides the total amount and writes it on each one. For instance if you pay 6000, that would be 2000 on motor, 2000 on boat, 2000 on trailer, not 6000 on all or you will be paying sales tax on $18,000. If all 3 are on one title then you write $6000 on the sales record.

dealing with rude ignorant people while fishing
If you have multiple people arguing with you and wanting to get into fights, I have to wonder what they are accusing you of doing??? I can't say as I have ever had someone yell at me or want to fight me while fishing. I've had people cut me off when in the boat, I've had people fly past me going WOT 50 feet off my side, and while shore fishing I have had lots of people throw at my feet from boats.. I always choose to keep calm and ignore it and not yell at them. I've never had someone yell at me. I guess those instances I mentioned would be rude, but I never wanted to assault someone for doing it.

Changing hooks on a big walking bait
Should make it walk easier, will have less drag than with the thick coated saltwater hooks.

Adding a locking ring to a reel seat nut
Put your reel on and tighten it down. Take a colored sharpie and carefully put a dot on the threads above and below the nut. Back the nut off and put plumbers tape on the threads between the dots. When you tighten it back up it should be a good snug fit and you won't see the tape.

modifying Veritas trigger
I just cut mine off and sanded it flat... Not on a veritas, but a quantum that was bruising my finger.

Jon Boat In Tournament?
I visit a resort on a lake each year as a family vacation. There used to be lots of fishermen there and the ones who bass fished would go out in the morning and evening and come back with a livewell full of big bass for pictures, then let them go at their boats and the resort docks as I'm sure people had been doing every week that summer.. After 3-4 days I caught on and would get up early before anyone started up their boats and throw a topwater around everyone's boats... Just unhook my boat and fish IN the resort. I was pulling out 3-4# fish every morning and almost all of them had hook marks.. but by 6:30 am Id have 20# of fish before anyone had coffee. Finally got busted when the resort owner got up early and saw me out there, then told everyone everyone what I was doing. The next day everyone was fishing just like I was. Point of the story is that yes, fish sometimes don't travel far!

Do you close your gas tanks vent when storing your boat?
Are you treating your gas? Gas can go bad quick... I would imagine if you add seafoam to your tank at the reccomended dosage you will notice an improvement. my tank auto vents out the fill cap on the side of the boat.

Explain Planing Please?
Its when the boat levels out parallel to the water and rises up on top of the water (on a plane).. have to think back to highschool science for the term "plane", then it will make more sense. Not all boats get on pad, very few do actually.. Just bass boats and flat bottom jons. V bottoms don't have a pad to get on to.

No lights working on boat trailer?
Loose or pinched wires. Start at the plug, make sure they didnt come loose from the pins.

Trailer guide problem
What is your step made from? My ranger trail trailer is that way, it is steel all the way and the side bunks are bolted onto it with 3/8 bolts.

Boat won't plane out
Because it starred you out i would guess you had the number thirteen in there.. So thirteen X 19 maybe?

Otter or nutria
They will stay endangered as long as people keep killing them to protect their fishing holes. Iowa is trying to get them back in the state, they worked for years BUYING otters from bordering states to try and reintroduce them. We finally have enough around that there was a trapping season on them last year. So far since last summer I have been in 3 conversations where people saw otters on their favorite pond/fishing spot and are planning on shooting them this summer. Sad to see people won't let nature work. The difference between an otter and a nutria is pretty big... are you sure it isn't a muskrat?

No lights working on boat trailer?
Do what Brent said before you rewire anything and clean everything up. First take it for a spin around the (storage unit?) and make sure it gets a good ball connection. Could be some gunk up under the tongue.

Windows 10
I went from 8.1 to 10 on one computer and 7 to 10 on another. Both crashed within a week (have NEVER had a computer crash before) and had to be fully restored. The 7 never came out of it and needed a full windows re-install... It was on its last leg anyways so I went ahead and upgraded to a new computer with windows 10 already installed. No problems yet! The 8.1 was restored and works fine again.

No lights working on boat trailer?
FYI at any trailer shop (uhaul in dav has them) they sell a power checker thinger (sorry dont know the correct name).. Its a male 4 prong with LED lights that you plug into your truck.. if the lights come on its not the truck. They are cheap.

No lights working on boat trailer?
Could be ball-grounded as well. If that's the case a rusty ball will cause ground issue and no lights. I had a buddy call me once at 3am with the line "Just hooked up my boat and the lights don't work". I asked if the ball was cleaned and he said "Its not on the ball, I just backed up next to it to check the lights before hooking it up..." I said to hook it up and call me back. He texted me a minute later saying "works now". lol

Launching by yourself?
One thing to add. If you are backing up the empty trailer and get into a bind, don't panic.. Just put her in park and walk back and lift the back end of the trailer and move it over. That trailer won't weigh much at all.

Launching by yourself?
No, none were rollers that I can remember. Most were deep V's on carpet bunks and flat bottom boat blinds on carpeted bunks. One was a pleasure cruiser on carpeted bunks... his actually bounced once and landed in the water and floated down river. Think of a 3,000lb hammer hitting a piece of aluminum, it about made me mess my shorts when I heard it. All were pulling out just like you described. Most had someone in it, did the old drive her on and yell to the buddy to pull it out.

Power anchor(s) for RT178
The trolling motor spot lock is probably going to be a lot more than $100 upgrade as the 24V power drive 70lb is about $1200. If you need more than 70lb thrust, the 24V 80lb ulterra is $2000, and the 36V 112lb is $2300.
