  1. I doubt it very much. Our fish are in a funk right now as well (at least they were on Fri). The weather is still too unstable, one day cold the next warm, water gets to 65-66 then drops to 52 in 3 days.. all puts stress on the fish! I've never seen a lake get pounded by bass fishermen on the ice, but I guess its possible. Not possible to be fished out however.

KVD 1.0 and 1.5 (1.5 90% of the time). Chart/black back, Sexy Sunfish, and Gizzard Shad are the best producers for me.
  3. I would think this would be a great use for the UV epoxy. Put it in the gap, place in your lip, adjust it just the way you want it and stick it under a UV light for 10 seconds. Then proceed to painting. I use it in fly tying to attach foam bodies to hooks so I know its water proof, at least the stuff I got at hobby lobby is. Keychain UV light was $0.98. I don't know how durable it would be on big deep divers or square bills bouncing rock though, have to test it and see.
  4. Beats my PB which is 0". I've seen them a few times, just haven't gotten lucky (or unlucky?) enough yet!
  5. Merc engines are to be rain in neutral at under 2000 rpm at all times and not for extended amount of time per merc specs. If you haven't gotten it figured out yet I would absolutely take it back to the mechanic and tell him something is wrong. They should be able to hook it up to muffs on the spot and test it. I would say faulty bulb, probably has a bad check valve in it. Anyways, I have that motor series in 115 and while mine is rigged with 3/8 lines (double checked today while performing maintenance) it is spec'd to run 5/16 fuel lines. I would imagine yours is the same. So the fuel line and connections shouldn't be the problem unless they aren't properly clamped. I would guess he used 5/16 because that's what he had on hand and is all that is really needed.

Minnow raps catch lots of fish, if you can get past the $9 price tag locally! Berkley came out with a minnow in the flicker family recently, that one is fantastic and only $5. http://www.fishusa.com/product/Berkley-Flicker-Minnows

Thats not a minnow rap. Ive had that color before but not in a rapala, not sure who made it. here is a minnow rap (i replaced the hooks)
  8. My merc has one like that, must be after market. I just pulled it today to inspect it as part of yearly maintenance. Push slightly, twist apart 1/4 turn and pull.
  9. The cabelas ones look pretty nice as well, they arent crazy priced either.
  10. Line to the left usually means too much pressure when spooling or too big of an angle. Do you pinch the line with one hand in front of the reel when spooling? That's a common cause.
  11. Line caught around the hook keeper? I did that on Thurs and put a big kink/abrasion in my line. Thankfully I was vertical fishing so I only lost about 20' of line. Pulled the hook keeper off the rod with pliers before the next cast.
  12. Great looking rig! Congrats on the purchase
  13. Thats the same as my ranger trail, you need the kind that bolt to it.
  14. Just saw this pop up on my FB. Buy 2 get one free.. Free shipping over $50 like TW. http://www.fishusa.com/product/YoZuri-Hybrid-FluorocarbonNylon-Line
  15. That was my reaction too. Whaaattt??? Buy the croix, sell the reel for $75 and enjoy a $25 rod. Then if you dont like it buy whatever you want and sell the croix for profit or keep it.
  16. Seafoam every fill up. Its $6 and treats 16 gal.
  17. More boat space with tiller. Easier handling and boat control with console.
  18. Be safe, spray your socks with BANG Craw & Garlic
  19. Happening to me too. Using chrome if that matters.
  20. Click on triumph x and then read the description. Free daiwa. http://stcroixrods.com/shop/freshwater/
  21. Depends on the age. I would take a '01 motor with 200 hours over a '13 with 200 hours. But to answer your question, seems outboard motors usually last between 1000-2000 hours before simply wearing out to the point that they need rebuilt. Lower end for 2 stroke, higher end for 4 stroke. I guess there isn't a set number that would cause me to avoid purchasing a motor, I'd have to see a list of what had been done to it and take a look at the motor before making a decision to pass.

  23. Got any buddies that could give her a cast? That should tell you if something is wrong with the rod.
  24. I'm sure they were doing just what you said, I've seen it multiple times. They weren't spawning with each other but using the same spot. The jet black crappie would be a male and the bass was probably also a male.. each trying to run the other out of the spot. Bass and crappies are of different genetic subfamilies, they cannot crossbreed.
