  1. Because bassmaster doesn't have the budget that NASA has/had. Donate a few million to bassmaster so we can all watch in perfect quality please. There's no way that was a serious question.
  2. Easy. Z-man and strike king stretchy ones are the only two that are not PVC.. and I still wouldn't keep the SK and ZM in the same box.
  3. Comes down to money. If we are talking about the pro circuits, they want the pros to catch as many and as big of fish as possible to gain public attraction. Who wants to watch a weigh in where the leader is 3 fish for 7lbs? Most people want to see a 5 fish 25-30# bag! Electronics help locate fish so the anglers have a better shot at catching fish, that's the point of a tournament! Can't really compare it to deer hunting with an infrared scope, we release the fish.. If you want to ban electronics you'll see every tournament won by bank beaters and flippers with 5 fish limits of 2# flipping fish with a kicker or two (like club tournaments).. won't be too exciting.
  4. The best angler of all time? Possibly... probably. The best angler in the last two years? Not even close. This is coming from a big KVD fan by the way... I have his 2012 classic jersey signed by him and guard it with my life.
  5. If you can trailer the boat with the motor in the down position and have enough clearance then you don't need one.
  6. They can be tough. Take a small piece of cloth and wet it with a thicker oil then wipe the outside of the male "threads".

Lurecraft made some silicone molds of the paca craw and paca chunk back in 06-07. Netbait filed a lawsuit since they have a patent on those baits, they won and LC had to stop making the molds. Netbait also sent letters to EVERY person they could find selling baits from those molds saying they needed to stop making those baits for themselves or anyone else or they would file a lawsuit for patent infringement.
  8. No problem! Also there is an in hull mount for kayaks and pond hoppers. All info is on garmin's website
  9. No I didn't. Your transducer is not an universal trolling motor transducer. Downview is not made for trolling motors, they supply a trolling motor mounting bracket for it that works on SOME trolling motors. This is a trolling motor transducer https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/shop-by-accessories/trolling-motor-mount-transducers/plastic-in-hull-trolling-mount-transducer-with-depth-temperature-airmar-p72/prod88666_010-10200-20.html
  10. okie dokie. Ive done it and am wrong, you havent and are right. Sounds about right for the "biggest and baddest" type of guys. i run autozone batteries. It draws 50 amps max LOAD. Big motor up and TM on high is not pulling 50amps unless you are stuck in weeds or pulling a 22' glass walleye boat.
  11. 4 batteries to get 12 hours??? I had a 55 maxxum with one group 27 battery and i could troll on high pulling crankbaits for walleye for a good 5 hours. This was a 17' 2000# ranger deep v hull. Bass fishing i would fish 2 days without charging then charge on sunday night. Probably a good 13-15 hours. On a little 15' riveted jon i doubt you would need it over 40% even on really windy days, probably 20% for normal fishing. It will run all day on a good battery. If you need 6 batteries to fish all day then you need to get some better batteries my friend! Now with my 24v 70 maxxum i can fish all day and when i plug in my charger the batteries are above 70% charge still. When on trips i have gone up to 3.5 days of fishing without charging when i couldn't access an outlet. Its not good on your batteries to do this, but i had no choice!
  12. Buy a trolling motor transducer? Or just mount it to the boat.
  13. With all due respect your boat is nothing like his riveted jon. Imagine someone telling you to not get the 24v 70 but instead you need a 112 36v for your boat. Thats about the same as telling someone with a 15' riveted jon he needs a 70+ 24v. 38lb is standard for his boat, 55 is MORE than enough, 70 is wayyy overkill.
  14. I got a sample of that 303 stuff from my last iboats order and was wondering what to do with it! I think ill wipe my dash with it after reading that!
  15. You only need 55lb thrust. Buy the 55 and see how long you get. If its not long enough then simply add another battery in parallel. There is no need for 80lb thrust with your boat, waste of money IMO.
  16. You just need to keep it from getting wet and keep the sun off of it. Carport, garage, or cover is all personal preference. Sad to say that garage is my only option.. While i live in a good neighborhood i feel my electronics and prop would not last a week with a cover on.
  17. Thats exactly what it comes down to right there. Keep your values, morals, and reputation and bust your butt trying to make it work... Or sell out to sponsors to take the easy path to what you want to do which comes with losing your reputation and morals. its easy to find the ones who sell out, its harder to find the ones that havent. The man i put above all the rest is lunkers TV. The guy busted his butt in the millitary, fought for our country and got injured doing so. Came home and made his own company and worked without a paycheck to build it to where it is today. Now he has a nice family, a nice home, truck, boat, and can fish and make youtube videos. He took the honest route.
  18. I was considering one for my 17' ranger alum. I did the calculations and came up with right at 1900-2000# (1050# dry boat weight). I asked a few power pole dealers and even their CS directly.. all said the same thing. It will work on calm days on relatively hard bottom, but if the "spike" is in muck and the wind blows the boat against it there will be issues. They said the weight limit of 1500# is conservative, but I would void any warranty with a boat weighing over that if there are any issues.
  19. Even if a $100 cheapo only lasts a year, its unlikely a $1000 one will last 10 years of outside use.. Probably cheaper in the long run to use cheapos and patch them with an old one when needed.
  20. Check fish kds for rod covers, thats where i get mine.. A lot cheaper than rod glove brand. I use them to keep rods untangled in my rod locker. As for the remote, you are right they are great for open water fishing! Theres a reason you dont see them on pros boats though, they are tricky when dealing with docks, stumps, following cuts in weeds, etc. that goes for all motor steering, not just remote.
  21. Should be able to siphon it, ive done it with a ranger before. Easiest way is out the fuel line.

That's when I throw the sexy sunfish or shad depending on forage. I don't think I've ever thrown the chart/blk in that clear of water so what do I know... could be the best thing out there.
  23. Kevin22 replied to stk44's topic in Fishing Tackle
I'd guess about that as well.

It catches fish. I don't know why, but it just flat out kicks butt in murky water. Pretty sure thats what KVD won a classic on in murky water.
