Sealing Up Hollow Body Frogs
I just got done sealing up some scumfrogs today. Yep, I said scumfrog! OLD SCHOOL Just have to use waterproof silicone sealer and lightly spread it over the openings with your finger being careful not to put on too much. Then two holes poked in the top with a hot paper clip bent straight. Since they were scumfrogs I also put a couple pieces of lead shot in the silicone as I applied it. It helps them land bottom down and cast a little further. Don't need to do it with most.

My WAG would be around 4lbs. Looks gut loaded.

What's Your Home Defense Gun? Aka House Gun
Intent is bs. I took two years of law enforcement in college. If you have the right to fire upon someone you have the right to kill them. That crap about having to stop shooting is bs.

Transducer Question
Just below or exactly flush. Your sonar shoots the waves out in a cone shape from the bottom of the transducer. If it hits something on its way down (like the boat) it will show interference and lose a lot of sensitivity. I set mine up so I can run a piece of board or something across the bottom of the hull and it just hits the bottom of the transducer.

I use 4/0 EWG, never had a problem. Throw them to every dock post you can find.

You Might Be An Angler If.....
You put groceries in the front seat because the truck is full of rods at all times

Transducer Question
1/4 inch. It needs to be below the boat though or it will get interference

One Rod: Braid Or Mono?
I tie direct. Blood knot

One Rod: Braid Or Mono?
Either one. I use mono.

One Rod: Braid Or Mono?
Here you go. This is an eagle gt.

One Rod: Braid Or Mono?
Put that rig on 8lb test and on the first cast you will have five 7lb'ers eat it.

One Rod: Braid Or Mono?
That itself is also BS. I have ruined two tips from using braid. These were on cheaper fenwick eagle and HMX rods. The braid cut slices in the guide and pretty much ruined them, any time pressure was added it frayed up the line terribly. I'm not saying to not use braid, as I use it a lot also... just don't use it on any cheaper rods.

One Rod: Braid Or Mono?
If poppers are one of your primary baits, I would not suggest a co-poly. I have tried to fish poppers on a co-poly, it is not fun. If you fish them slow, by the 4th or 5th pop the line has sunk and the cast is ruined. I would instead suggest a heavy braid. A heavy braid will float enough to work well with poppers. I would suggest a 50 or 65# braid, especially since you said plastics and jigs also.

Shakey Head Craws
I just noticed this was in the smallie section. When I fished the shakey head/craw I was targeting largemouth but I did catch a few smallies on it. I would say it would work pretty good for smallies in rocks. But if I was going to target smallies with a chigger it would be on a rage rig. Give it a try... it's one of my favorite ways to fish a craw. It's just a weighed shank EWG hook and a craw. Drag it along the bottom and it will look very natural.

Shakey Head Craws
No I have not, I'm not a fan of the chigger. But I have used a 4" hand poured craw worm similar to a paca craw on a shakey head and did real well. I would say under the right circumstances a heavier shakeyhead and a chigger would work very well.

Black Square Bills
If anyone is wondering, it is a bandit 100 series #118. Seems to be a stock color, not sure why the fingerprints are in it.

Black Square Bills
Howdy guys, I've thrown a lot of square bills but never a black one.. The other day I was fishing a small lake here and when I pulled into the parking lot I saw a fancy bass boat fishing where I wanted to (this is a TM only lake, very small). So I went to the other lake just over the hill and fished for a bit, about a half hour I peeked over the hill and he was loading up his boat at the ramp so I headed over. I was working the stumps/cribs with a senko and caught a couple when I noticed red eyes looking at me from one of the stumps. It was a crankbait stuck to the side of the stump with about 5' of line on it. Since I was fishing from the bank I could reach out with the tip of my rod and carefully hook one of the back hooks and gently pull it off. It is a very nice crank, custom I'd say.. and not a very good one. It has fingerprints in the clear coat! Solid black with red eyes. I am pretty sure that is what the bass boat was throwing along that bank, I would have given it back to him since it looks to be well used and he probably caught some fish on it.. but he was long gone. So anyways, I have it here and looking at it got me wondering... How many people throw black square bills? I have personally never even seen one until now, and never thought to use one. I either throw chartreuse/blue in dirty water or a HD bluegill color in clearer water. Looks like a bandit to me, what do you guys think?

Dropshot In Murky Water ?
Murky water, yes.. around cover, no. As for lures, try a bait with a lot of action like a super soft drop-shot worm in a white or chartreuse. If you are fishing around brush in murky water, why not just use the simple t-rig?

Poachers Really tick Me Off!
Bingo! Send the info to the next higher up. Call and talk to them in person after sending the email. The more people that call the more pressure it puts on them to open an investigation, or at least go talk to the guy. If the officer hands the guy the picture showing him with a speared smallie then he will probably cop out. Seems like plenty to go on, you have his picture with a d**n speared smallie!

Tungsten Weights
There are tons of videos on how to put inserts in tungsten weights. No sense in buying expensive weights when you can buy the cheap ones and do it yourself for cheap. A weight is a weight.

What Technique For This Rod?
I have that same rod in 7' MH. It is SUPER stiff. I use it for throwing huge pike baits as it is way too stiff for anything else IMO. I have lost several frog fish with it because it is just way too stiff. It is like an H XXF rod IMO. No backbone bend what so ever and very little tip bend. I even cracked some of the epoxy around the guides frogging with it, the guides were flexing at their feet because the blank would not. Unless yours is totally different, I would not suggest it for anything. It is however, a SUPER sensitive rod. If I could get just a little bit of backbone bend with it then it would be a heck of a heavy t-rig rod.

Thoughts/use Bps Baits
I have caught bass on BPS brand plastics quit often. I actually really liked them. All of my BPS baits are gone and frankly its not worth it to order from BPS for me, the shipping makes them cost just as much if not more than what I can get locally. Sucks because I liked the BPS stuff. Wish we had a BPS closer than 2 hours away.
