Solid. Replace that clutch with the gold Hedgehog one. *Maybe* silver knob cabs.

Mono vs. Flouro?
I wish there was any sort of industry standard. It would make our lives easier. Power Pro makes diameter equivalency claims but they are pretty much worthless. Plus PP is sort of oval shaped. However 30 or 40 lb green is a great all-around line. I use a lot of 30 lb, with and without a leader.

Mono vs. Flouro?
Remember, pros are paid to sell fluorocarbon, not to provide correct technical information.

Mono vs. Flouro?
Red Label 10 lbs and under is pretty good. Better than a good nylon? Maybe, maybe not. Yo Zuri is decent but feels dead in my hands; casts nicely, knots well, and is very manageable though. If you want good fluoro, you're gonna have to break out the wallet unfortunately.

Can we talk about finesse Casting rigs?
YEP. I'd prefer a forest green to match my NRX, but purple and green would work well together too.

Can we talk about finesse Casting rigs?
Is anyone else ready for winter to be over? On topic, the Daiwa Alphas platform or various Shimano 50E reels are good starts that won't break the bank. I greatly prefer casting reels for shad raps and other small hardbaits.

Thoughts between these 2 JDM reels
Probably get an Exsence while you can. Fairly certain they are discontinued.

Shimano 51e Spool Question/Help
I don't have personal experience with the Yumeya spool, however there are at least a few people with one so someone will be along shortly I'm sure. Also there's probably some posts on TT about it. I'd definitely float a PM to Matt the hooligan. Shimano 50 spools are his jam.

Shimano 51e Spool Question/Help
Open sideplate. Remove spool. Drop spool on floor. Curse extensively. Insert new spool. Also 32mm is the 50/51 size spool. Why are you interested in the new spool? BFS?

That's actually kind of interesting.

Shimano Calcutta Conquest 101 & 201 Applications
The 101 has 50-sized capacity. 201 could do it but I'd go 301.

Ha. Bass Pro Shops doing something correctly.

Is there much use for a Medium/Moderate CB rod for Bass?
Med/mod rods throw balsa cranks nicely.

Surgery #3...and just in time for ice out darnit!
Thanks! I'd definitely discuss all that with your surgeon. I also found the following helpful for reducing anxiety post-surgery. http://www.uhhospitals.org/case/services/surgery/our-divisions/general-and-gastrointestinal-surgery/comprehensive-hernia-center/postoperative-instructions/groin-inguinal-hernias/laparoscopic-inguinal-hernia-surgery-care-instructions I had one inguinal and one femoral, both on the same side, repaired lapro. Surgery was six weeks ago today. The recommendation I received was 10 lbs or under for the first four weeks, then two more weeks until any weightlifting. Personally I felt terrible up until last week, but my surgeon said it's fifty-fifty on the pain thing; some people are pain-free two weeks after or so. One of mine was a tear instead of a vulnerability so that may be part of the reason. I'm going to wait a few months until I squat or pull anything over a plate. Today is going to be the acid test because I've done very little since beginning of December aside from shoveling snow earlier this week. I can say that I didn't feel confident fishing within four weeks of surgery (we had some warm days and it was tempting). Your mileage may vary. Definitely bounce all of this off your surgeon though. They do this all the time. I'm also happy to answer any further questions you (or anyone else, this is pretty common) may have based on my experience.

A-rig/swimbait setup
Fury 795 is a good place to start. I'd probably say a rounder is the way to go. Cardiff 300/301 seems popular as a budget choice. If you had a low gear Zillion or something I would also try that. Not sure about the CH200E5.

Dude, me too. High five. We can be double-hernia buddies. I had surgery end of January and my weight restriction comes off tomorrow. I hope you have a speedy recovery!

Spinning Rig - $500 Budget
I might even be looking at MH spinning for 5" Senkos depending on the cover and rod brand. My preference would be a St. Croix rod 7' M in whatever model you like with a Shimano or Daiwa spinning reel.

td zillions (non TWS)
Yep. If I ever give up tackle enthusiasm, I'll just have a bunch of OG Zillions. I think one of the reason that we hate on new Daiwa reels is that they got the Zillion so right in so many ways and things since then have been, well, eh.

Suggestions on a small swimbait rod
I would consider the Dobyns Fury 735, the Daiwa Tatula 7'4" H (if you can swing the extra inch), and the Okuma TCS 7'3" H. The Tatula may come in at close to $150 but the other two should be well under. Slightly outside your budget is the Loomis E6X 884 swimbait rod; it would be $160 with a 20% sale. However it's pretty much ideal for your needs. Unless you equate Loomis with Shimano, in which case please disregard.

okuma tcs rod
I'm not really into the reel seat, but you can do worse at $100. Black and blue looks nice also.

Suggestions on a small swimbait rod
Any reason you're looking at those brands? Sponsor discount from a club or something? Is there a length you prefer? Treble or single hooked baits? Cork or EVA? Pepsi or Coke?

BIG HANDS/ MEANS ??
Shimano and Abu do not share handles. Abu, Daiwa, and Lews do though. Hawgtech is where I go for my Shimano handles.
