mono for frogging
So, curiosity, why are you throwing a frog in a place with little to no vegetation?

Opinions on Fluorocarbon
Shooter and Sniper are what I prefer to use. Red Label 10 lb or under is fairly good for the price as well. Invizx is crazy stretchy under 15 lb test but it has its place.

Reel for Frogs and Big Swimjigs
OG Zillion is my pick. 200/1 Conquest HG would be sweet if you like setting money on fire. I think heavy cover is a good place for a round reel if you're into them.

prediction time
Gold Duo lipless or a black and blue Siebert jig, 'cause that's what I'll be throwing in cool, dirty water.

The Monkey got me
Hopefully you're getting these on sale. No need to pay retail in February, though I am hearing of some open water in places. Solid rods for St. Clair though, depending on what you throw.

mono for frogging
Walking fifteen miles in the snow both ways aside, if you're a novice frog angler, certainly use braid. It's the right tool for the job.

mono for frogging
It's not fun. Setting hooks on mono at distance is just terrible.

Your favorite Rock/Metal scream?
This is a good start. Starts at 0:11 and happens a lot throughout the song. I'll try not to "ruin" this thread with a bunch of death metal. But yeah, these guys are pretty good. Canadian thrash with some fantasy thrown in. Two horns up.

Square bill rod
Megabass Flat Side Special is one of the better 1.5 rods imo. 7' 4.5 power and whatever flex regular is.

Zillion TWS Drag Washer Diameter
Should be the same drag as the Tatula.

New Metanium 2016 w/ MGL spool
Maybe aluminum star drag or something. Pretty sure the '13 Met's is composite.

new spinning rod for senkos
Add the Zodias to your search. Lot of rod for $200.

Shimano Calcutta d
Good thing I don't need another reel. Said no one ever.

1st Japanese Reel Purchase
Their English is far better than my Japanese.

I'd like to NO ?
I would try to avoid paying retail for anything, so I won't comment on price. However, you will not be disappointed in the Chronarch Ci4+ for general bass fishing. I have one and it's a solid reel. If I was on a tighter budget, I'd have more. Someday I'll have to trade the Antares in for children, but it is not this day. I've also seen no reason to be concerned with the durability of the Ci4+ material. Unless, of course, they all start exploding at the five year mark. We'll know next (?) year!

New rod/reel
I use the big name ones during sales. SFT is supposed to be legit, will likely give them business in the future. I shop JLS and JPangler for reels occasionally. Rods from Amazon come in cardboard usually. Risky but the deals are there sometimes. Locally I've gotten some fine deals at Sportsmen's Direct in Harrison Township, right off the lake.

What would you use these rod/reels for?
Is that the Medium Regular Zillion rod? Might be a little soft for Keitechs if you're not fishing exposed hooks. The DX (762?) is probably good for Ned but would be long for drop shotting in my preference. Too much grass in my area to throw Neds but probably be good on St Clair. I'd throw a 3" Senko on that rod so that's sort of the same thing.

Which baitcaster casts farthest
Zillion with an Ize HLC spool over 1/2 oz. Spool will take a bit of searching and about a hundred bucks but totally worth it.

team daiwa sol baitcaster
Nice reel. Star drag doesn't click. There are upgrade options available, notably the Alphas SV spool.

Magnesium vs Aluminium reels
For whatever reason, the '13 Met feels very good and there's something about it that seems to enhance feedback. I'm a believer after reading the TT threads and trying it, but I'm not sure frame material is the explanation as to why.

Daiwa finally lost it
Fat bottom reels, you make the rockin' world go 'round.

New Shimano Products 2016
Met MGL for me depending on performance. The Ant DC looks good but probably really pricey.
