  1. Round bend hooks are good with senko-style worms. No need to use a wide gap on a 5" senko. However, I like skip gap hooks best.
  2. Mend-it works really well on Spro frogs. They still take on water but I feel better about it.
  3. They can probably see it. But then again, they can probably see 15 lb Big Game clear as well (.38 mm ain't exactly subtle).
  4. American Dad
  5. Almost certainly too much diameter for 1/8 weight and plastic. Knock it down to 10 or 12.
  6. True, but it's like $80 on Japan Angler. So you're still saving $15 or so. Still almost the price of the reel.
  7. While we're at it, a custom is a good option at $200.
  8. 7'1 MH XF *** Black spinning rod, $40 over budget but Labor Day brings 20% off sales. This is fun.
  9. Loomis E6X 803s and 853s are rated to 5/8 oz, extra fast, 6'8 or 7'1, and come in under $200. Close enough? I can keep looking.
  10. Hit up Japan Lure Shop. A lot cheaper across the board.
  11. Yeah I'd look at the rubber and brass pieces under the cast control knob. If they're flat, replacements could improve what you describe. I know I had that issue with my Sol and replacing them did the trick.
  12. Just put an SV spool in your TD-Z. Problem solved.
  13. Line conditioner does wonders for Hybrid of all tests. Compare based on diameter and you're good to go.
  14. Megabass Orochi XX Diablo Spec R is what I like @ $300. However, the Shimano Zodias is a lot of rod @ $200.
  15. Can't argue with the price of Pad Crashers. They might actually be too soft; I find that other brands throw water better and walk better. They still catch fish and Dick's occasionally has 'em for $4 each. I have high hopes for the new Terminator frog. Most of the hollow-body frogs that I've tried have some glaring weakness (durability, action, softness, price efficiency, etc).
  16. $300 ish right now. Shipping is like $15? Something like that. I know Japan Lure Shop has/had one.
  17. That probably looks pretty good, or at least unique.
  18. Yeah, but don't cheap out on baitcasting reels unless you want to give yourself an aneurysm.
  19. Triumph spinning rods are legit. Versatile and inexpensive.
  20. Yep. Goose has it right. I've been out enjoying my NRX instead of arguing. XD
  21. I have concerns about long term durability of aluminum micro gears under heavy use conditions. But I suppose replacing a gear set every 2-3 years wouldn't be the end of the world.
