  1. I have $40 left over! A lot of good anglers for under $15. Florida was not kind to many people
  2. I use YHZ hybrid as a main line on my topwater/jerkbait rod and mainline on my cranking rod. I honestly use braid for everything else.
  3. Man, GP is where its at. I really dont use anything else unless as jig trailer. Gambler actually has a green pumpkin black swirl that is best of both worlds.
  4. I like yhz a lot and have switched my crankbait rod to 8# yhz after trying various lines including sunline reaction FC. I like reaction a lot and I'm sure sunline crank is great too, but for a lot less I can get a large spool of YHZ for same price or less. YHZ has tested out to be one of the least stretching lines (mono, copoly, and flouro) and I've tested that out setting hooks on 4 pound+ bass in heavy laydowns. There are few lines that compare
  5. I've narrowed my chatterbait rod choices down to two options and I wanted to know if you all have had any experience with these rods. The first is the ALX Ikos Hustler. It is a new proprietary glass blank on a 7' rod (11 midmicro guides) rated up to an ounce. The blank itself only weights 4.5 ounces which is great for a glass rod. The second? Daiwa Tatula Elite Brent Ehler 7'4" (10 guides) rated up to 2 ounces. It is a composite glass rod. I fish a lot of grass and edges of lily pad fields with 3/8oz chatterbaits. I figure the Daiwa has more backbone to horse them out of the cover I fish but the Ikos Hustler is made in America, and comes with midmicro guides which in my experience make for better casting. The Ikos is also slightly cheaper.
  6. Scanlon got me a whopping 12 points... And Scott Martin tanked...i was betting on sight fishing being a big factor and there are few better than him in Florida bed fishing. Many anglers said they are in between waves of spawning bass.
  7. Casey Scanlon is killing me with 22 points and bradley dortch in the 100s as well... Things can change on 2nd day but I am not hopeful of a strong finish. So much more parity in the FLW...you just never know which fisherman spent his free time practicing x lake, or got some sort of help before the season.
  8. Tournament starts in a few hours. Make sure you get your picks in.
  9. Duo realis. End.
  10. Harris Chain of Lakes coming up this week. Lots of good options to choose from! But who is that one obscure angler who will do well that will elevate your team in standings? I picked a bunch of safe bets this go around
  11. Well in lures about 100....mostly restocking soft plaatics Nees to replace rod and reel so an extra 300 And getting powerpole micro so 600. More than i would typically at start of season
  12. I'm looking at finally getting a powerpole for my yak and have bought an adapter plate for mounting. I plan on buying the power pack and a 3rd party 9 ft pole. I will be unmounting and switching it to my dads alum boat when we fish. Should I consider the c-clamp mount for his boat? Are there any tips/tricks/modifications I should be aware of or any money savers?
  13. I love beaver huts. Always a gold mine. I throw everything at them depending on conditions. I like to start with a crankbait or chatterbait on the outside edges...im talking about 10 to 20 feet away as branches can be scattered. Then ill swap to a jig or small soft plastic and work the immediate edge and then I will punch through any branches on surface near house. Sometimes they will be right up in tight holes really shallow...juat like in thick grass. My most consistent producer is a drop shot! You can hit deep and shallow targets and can catch fish after fish after fish off one hut.
  14. Brass fittings, a competitive seat, and pedals are not enough to overcome the benfit of purchasing a nice SI unit with yakattack cellblok and a powerpole microanchor with the savings of the price difference. Your financial ability to modify and add on to the kayak is a very important factor some overlook
  15. Ole timmy Horton let me down. Oh well, Jacob Wheeler was bigger bust. Should light a fire under his ass for next tournament...however Ive followed that train of thought before and got burnt so it isnt always a safe bet
  16. Some people prefer paddle over peddle. Seating is very similar as the feelfree seat is arguably best in business. Hobbie rod storage is merely rod tip protectors you hide your rod under if you lay it down on deck. Brass and transducer mounts are not worth price gap. Is it a great kayak I would own? Yes. Is it worth the difference in price? No, you are paying for brand name and the mirage drive technology.
  17. The margins between top positions and the bottom is very slim. Day 2 will see a lot of changes
  18. I have dropshotted in MUD and caught good bass! You throw it where they are at they will eat it.....especially if the mud has turned them negative
  19. Roboworm is my 2nd favorite manufacturer. I catch a lot of bass on em and one of my PBs. I will buy these but not for ned rigs. I dont ned rig. I will buy them for dropshot, finesse neko, and weightless jerkbaiting.
  20. Lol feelfree by a mile at that price point. Why on earth would you spend over 4 times as much for a similar product? Spend that on upgrades like electronics and powerpole.
  21. Good catch scaleface. I was thinking the scores hadnt been fully updated yet but they shsould have been. I felt like my points total was low. An fyi for yall new to FLW: to have a decent season, scores of 1000 if not 1100 are required. Chance to win FLW prize would require about 1400.
  22. Thats why he is valued at $16! Market saturation
  23. 15 braid 8 flouro. Great sensitivity and lower diameter means more natural presentation
  24. Bass resource does. There is a thread on it already I believe
