  1. Revenge may have one
  2. I'm a sunline fan and have been enjoying crankbaits the last couple years, so when I saw this line I had to try it. I purchased it in 12 pound test. It casts smooth and quiet and handles reasonably well and the smoke gray is a nice color if you are into that. That's where my compliments end. I read reviews before buying and chalked up negative reviews as user error and focused on the positives. Truth is, this line at this price point is essentially monofilament. Similar if not larger diameter line than similar priced monos, poor abrasion resistance against wood and rock (if you have to pick a backlash out, pray you didn't damage your line!), typical FC knot issues (sd jam mitigates), and it actually has little stretch. I tied 10 inches to a 2.5 pound weight and measured it at 11.10. When testing my pline cx premium in 20 pound test (a line known for low stretch) I went from 10 to 11 inches. Maybe this line would be okay in heavier tests with swimjigs or chatterbaits, but as a cranking line shallow or deep, I don't think it's the best option. I will use the rest of the spool this year, but it's not a game changer.
  3. There is a thread a few pages back where a poster tested multiple lines. Flourocarbon stretched the most on average. Trilene XT the least of all. (Not all brands/models were tested) There is also another blog if you search google for line stretch with similar results (not TT). If you think stretch is not a factor then you haven't fished braid. Sometimes you need stretch sometimes you dont.
  4. I like using bc for skipping, especially swimjigs. Need a rod that loads up and to dial up tension and brakes and slowly back off to where you nearly backlash. It's all practice, need to develop muscle memory and technique and have faith in your gear. If you are afraid of back lashing you'll stop your lure before the skip.
  5. I took my 30 ipt 7 to 1 ratio reel on the lake last weekend. I was simply cranking my crankbaits too fast and slowing down to an effective speed was fatiguing. Also I tried a moderate/deep diving crank and it didn't have the power to pull it like my 5 to 1 does. (Both tatulas)
  6. I've punched matted cat tails in early spring in 1 foot of water and caught numerous bass. If it's warm, has food, and is deep enough to cover their backs they will be in it.
  7. Buy sunline leader. It's cheaper and smaller spool. If you like it buy more.
  8. I have a tournament in a couple weeks on a Highland impoundment. Bass are in prespawn, but I don't have much experience with Highland fishing. I'm thinking football jigs primarily, jerkbaits, and shallow running craw type cranks. I need to restock my craw cranks anyway, but is there anything I'm overlooking?
  9. To be fair, Chris Lane won the Sabine with BPS carbonlite combo.
  10. They can go ahead and buy a sub 100 dollar carrot stick, or an ugly stick with a sub 40 dollar reel. When their drag fails, their carrot stick snaps, or they can't feel a fish pick up the jig, I'll be using quality gear and having a better day.
  11. I was wrapped around a branch and tried to pull my jig out. Had to unwrap it after it dug into the branch. It had nicks and scrapes that would have busted flourocarbon I've used. I retied but I didn't think I needed to.
  12. Got to use it extensively in my tournament yesterday in 20# as a long leader material. I was impressed. Extremely abrasion resistant, very low stretch, and pretty managable. Didn't hook up but I have faith that it's sensitive. I haven't used shooter or toray flouro but I don't see how they could be too much better when they cost over double if not more.
  13. They are not. But panic spreads fast, hence why everywhere is out of stock as everyone hordes their lures. Funny how xcalibur profits from excalibur shutting down.
  14. I have two packs but haven't used them yet. What's the tail action like?
  15. I have 12 pound test. It has thinner diameter than mono and it does have stretch. It casts very smoothly. I was cranking rip rap last Sunday and did notice that the line had abrasions. I simply cut and retired so unfortunately I never tested to what extent the abrasions had on the lines integrity. My past experiences with fluoro would dictate that these small abrasions would snap the line with little pressure. So basically this sunline reaction is a thinner diameter monofilament. I'd say save your money and buy mono or go with sniper which is more abrasion resistant and still contains stretch (almost as much as some monos!).
  16. Large freezer bags labeled by type/use with original package. Then stuffed in a Flambeau storage box. Some original packages make it tough to fit like keitech and rage baits

Got it yesterday in mail. It's a small profile compared to 10xd. Morning dawn looks amazing. The magnet holding the tungsten weight is really innovative
  18. Just got this color from TW. It's like a pearly green pumpkin with slightly translucent claws. Probably most realistic craw color they have. Do they make other rage models in this color? I didn't see any on TW, but they don't always carry all the colors
  19. Anyone use these worm hooks? Has an interesting bend and are at a good price.
  20. I got mine for 150. Hell of a pitching reel at that price. Haven't had an issue with it so far.
  21. Very cool...Although a weightless soft plastic with a skirt in front would be similar
  22. I managed to tie a Palomar knot twice on my gills...took a while though... No bites but it's very weedless, the thought of using it to punch lily pads went through my mind. I swam it up and over timber too. Quick tip, if you bring the rof5 to the surface it will want to lay on its side and you can 'surf' it along slowly like a dying wakebait.
