  1. This is my third video of some highlights from April including my Fiance's first bass. Took some of yall's comments on board and found a software program that will work on my laptop (kind of).
  2. Personal preference....Try a few and see. I like mustad. Lots of options and dont bend or lose their point easily. They also have grip pins which can be very useful keeping your plastics in place.
  3. Thats what i figured. Probably just list em for sale.
  4. Anyone know if these spools will fit into the fuego ct? Ive a couple of t3's that unfortunately are at the end of their frames life but spools are perfect and would like to salvage if I could.
  5. I typically wear jeans for their ability to ward off a stray treble hook. The peak of summer i will sometimes wear cheap zip off pants/shorts but they arent very comfortable. I don't like wearing shorts fishing due to skeeters/horse flies/sun.
  6. I will interject into the financial advice. Dont put it into savings, the interest rate is non existant. Invest your money into CDs from local banks...but a $100 CD for a year would onky net a dollar or 2....so invest in yourself; buy a cheap sit inside kayak and life jacket. Your skills and knowledge will flourish. Rods and tackle can be had second hand if need be especially from local clubs when guys have rod sponsors and need to dump their old models
  7. Kvd and evers both have outstanding records on Ky Lake. Had both of them. Mcdaniels stumbled and Horton didnt do much. I took a punt on Mullins with a solid hx on TVA lakes figuring he would be one of those top 12 underdogs...wrong! Im starting to learn that you have to play the hot hand and take your losses as they come just like gambling
  8. Went out yesterday (in WV) to a long feeder of a river (different from other feeder mentioned previously) after work and saw no beds. Granted it was a little rainy and dark but I can usually spot them well. Temps in the creek probably lower than in the pond but still...should be seeing more beds. Going out Monday to a new small pond to scout...maybe the females will be on beds there....
  9. Spawning in tennesse now. Last week i caught 2 big females in the entrance to a feeder creek just off entrance to river. They were in classic prespawn pattern following a ditch. I think spawn is just starting this weekend full swing. Havent caught any skinny bass.

  11. Im so sick...was a hair away from picking Shaw....i knew it was spawn time and Shaw is undisputed best sight fisherman. Pick Horton instead and he just hasnt got into any big onrs
  12. I understand bluegill spawning habits. These werent bluegill beds but were small for bass beds. I found a couple instances of bluegill starting nesting colonies....or at least sticking close to their old colonies. Maybe they were from geese feeding. The males i caught did not show any signs of spawning except 2 had a tiny sore on tail fin.
  13. Water is actually low. There are a lot of geese in area but other beds are quite circular but perhaps too small for bass
  14. I fished a shallow grassy pond in WV yesterday, with mid/low 60 water temps and warm weather last few days. Caught a lot of male bass, some squirting and a couple with slightly abraised tails. Caught 1 off a bed for sure and many others I suspected on beds. A shoreangler caught 1 off bed that I had seen and reported seeing other single male.bass on beds. I saw a ton of beds. Many empty beds (some from.me spooking probably). I saw no fry (well maybe i saw a couple fry b but no balls of fry but couldnt determine species...maybe yellow perxh spawn before bass?) Also saw bluegill preparing beds. What could explain the abandoned beds?
  15. I think a few boats dont have marshalls Evers and mullins with no fish on Kentucky Lake? Doubtful
  16. I am toast after being in a position to win. Multiple final papers and approximately 10,000 words later...i missed another flew tournament....
  17. Wavelengths don't change due to cones and rods. Red may be distinguishable but if red light cant reach the lure then it is not red. As for white and chartreuse...white requires all color wavelengths. Yellow lasts a little longer than red. How that translates under watee im not sure...probably creates a blending of shades of white/grey. Black and blue creates different shadings of black that stands out well on bottom... So basically red cranks are great shallow and muddy water....
  18. Two key aspects I think are worth heeding is 1. Have confidence in various baits/techniques. It does you NO good to "slow down" if you have no confidence in the bait youre slowing down with! People get spun out quick throwing a senko in the wrong depth or getting line twist on dropshot. If you have confidence you can sense the right conditions. 2. Youd be surprised at how speeding UP a fast presentation can result in more fish activity. Burning balsa cranks on the edge of blowout is sometimes ths only option. This ties into your confidence and sense. It is important to stay focused in order to vary your retrieves and casting angles.
  19. Had a spro lil john knock off....key word: had.
  20. You got a purty mouth
  21. Didn't read. But a good spool/braking system will help you skip efficiently...leading to better lure placement. Or just buy a spinning reel.
  22. On facebook. Injuries are fairly serious. May be done for year
