  1. 7'1" ML/XF spinning rod and love it. Wouldn't change a thing!
  2. If I missed it, automatic state record fish.
  3. DC is the coolest thing ever. Be warned: your first is never your last!
  4. Minnows and small baitfish/juvie panfish are TOTALLY fair game. Gotta get a little minnow catching jig and pull that fresh hatch-matching forage tho, don't bother with the tackle store. If I can't catch it in that water I won't use it there. It's just my opinion but I feel it's the best way IMHO.
  5. Calling it right now- The Rag Rig is going to take the world by storm.
  6. Check out Gliss next time that nanofil gets changed out. You'll never go back.
  7. Zero concern. Baseball can't get any softer without taking golf carts from base to bases anyways lol
  8. Dexters are really nice, I got a sweet 9"er on a killer discount at DSG and love it. I would pay full price next time if I had to.
  9. I throw the 5" and 6" ones. Great baits! You nailed that they are a great in-between sized bait and the way their hook is integrated helps them not get ruined from using them. They do pretty much everything you'd want a paddle tail to do and then some. I'm a fan.
  10. If it's tip heavy, just go with a heavier reel. It's all about the balance, and not really the overall weight IMO. Different strokes, but that sounds like a solid deal.
  11. Sounds like you just need a few tubs 'o fryer oil & fixins, a keg and some friends my man.
  12. Wow. 8 shots @450fps between recharges, no Archer's Paradox, canting etc. and a two-finger cocking mechanism... All with air. Who knew?!?? Definitely wouldn't mind one of these bad boys!!
  13. There's no way they're going to replace or "warranty" that fwiw. Still... I'd just buy another one. Gotta do our part to sustain populations of the rare and endangered white pythons, right? Nature first. Always.
  14. Another day another trick darter load lol... Hakusei glitter carp and a kameyama glitter this time. Trick darters are my Achilles heel. I seriously can't stop.
  15. Hahaha wow, OP definitely got more finesse casting reel talk than he bargained for! This rabbit hole is pretty deep for 5 pages
  16. What reel wouldn't? Fresh mani/pedi buff and a carbontex nail job? She's gonna be better than new!
  17. Stuck home with a sick kiddo, been reorganizing and cleaning fishing gear all day. I remembered I haven't posted a pic of the quiver lately so here goes. Behold: my four horsemen. (Bottom to top) 7'3" HXF 13 "NV" Black w/ Lew's BB1 Pro & 40# Smackdown. Kicker frog tied on. 6'10" MHF Megabass Destroyer Phase 3 Elseil W/ Shimano Exsence DC & 12# CXX. Biwaa Divinator tied on. 7'1" G. Loomis NRX 852c green w/ Daiwa Ito Ai Alphas &15# Smackdown. Megabass Hazedong Magnum w/ Trokar mag swimbait EWG weightless t-rigged. 7'1" 13 "NV" Black MLXF w/ Shimano Stella 2500S & 9# Gliss (reel is currently enjoying the day spa @DVT) I love these combos. Together they cover so many bases and all are simply a joy to even hold and look at, let alone fish.
  18. Inlines are great! Check out the Snagless Sally and the Super Sally. Both great baits and yes they seem to catch everything
  19. Lol at 18 bearings. Do they just open up the side plate and dump bearings in like they're loading a Red Ryder BB gun?
  20. Looser fitting wicking long sleeves are the best. Lighter colors stay cooler also fwiw. I just got one that I believe is a Columbia button down style fishing shirt w vents, and only got it because it was on clearance. Gander mtn has nice ones too, you've just got to be patient and wait for a sale as they are expensive pretty much everywhere.
  21. I started off with an entry-level DSG sit-in kayak. Works great but not very much room and it isn't very comfy. Recently got a canoe because I wanted more space and a fun project. I used it a few times but it's just not the same. I'm delivering the canoe to a buyer today. Too unwieldy for the places I want to go and the paddling just isn't the same. Some have pretty long portages that were far more laborious too, as there is no path. I'm going back to a kayak but I'm getting a sit-on-top instead. Specifically a lure 11.5 for the space, seat, wheel in the keel for those long portages, option for a rudder and the pass-thru sonar console. Hybrids are a great option too, I just really like the SOTs. It's a personal decision though and everybody is different!
  22. Not tackle but I've officially caved to my original idea in regards to personal watercraft. Put my canoe on CL today and when it sells my kayak is gone too. I'm getting a d**n Lure 11.5 and nothing is gonna stop me.
