  1. Nope. I was kind of cursing myself for not just buying all of them haha thanks for saving me from going back and cleaning house!!
  2. Nah, I keep it really simple- I buy what I want and I throw what I enjoy the action of. No need to even elaborate beyond that IMO
  3. This provides endless chuckle factor for me. The BS surrounding it just cracks me up.
  4. I hope you guys never learn how many hazedong magnums I have in my plastics tray What makes ANYTHING "worth it" though is whether or not you enjoy it. If you do, it's worth it.
  5. I got a MF 6'10" 13 Ohmen spinning rod for $65 at Gander once. Also got I think a 7'1" MHXF Crucial for I think $75 iirc @DSG closeout .47 tag extravaganza. I'll be signing autographs later if anybody is interested.
  6. Yeah but was it a "country" mile?! I think they're like nautical miles but with more Copenhagen.
  7. Uh, yeah so apologies in advance to all of your pockets but if you're a Trick Darter user you need to get to that auction site like 5 minutes ago. Mega blowout on aisle 5 and stacked orders knock intl. shipping down to $1.50. I even left a Pro Blue behind for someone! Dang and I have rod holders as well as another TW order inbound today. The Bait Monkey is pleased haha
  8. I think it was like $30 from the Job Lot but it's got a nice grippy carbon handle. Good enough for me!
  9. Smaller swimbaits suspending jerkbaits bladed swim jig spinnerbaits magnum (5-6") soft jerkbait with a 3/16 or so swimbait EWG. flashy swims and kietechs rage blade of some kind Obviously I'll change my mind in 10 minutes but that's a good start Find the warmest spot in the place and fish everything you can. Subtle flash and vibration is usually key during these times for me. If I don't get hit on the above I'll usually start Ned rigging or using a mendota rig if it's weedy to see if there's anything at the bottom that can tell me what's going on down below and begin to formulate a picture and a plan from there. I fish from a kayak primarily and sometimes it takes a little longer to learn your waters enough to really know what you want to throw so it's tough to say.
  10. I've always thought of jerkbaits as wanting a quick snap of a hookset and then holding light tension from there. I fish lines with low or no stretch so it transmits very well. May not work as well with light mono or flouro fwiw
  11. Pro Tip: They're KO's. They're all bad ones. The good one is the fluke!
  12. A mendota rig is probably the best as far as snagless bottom contact jigging but I didn't include it since it's more of a punch rig and not a jig head. Even a punch skirt has to "turn" when you pull on it. A mendota just goes up and down, no twisting of the body or turning of the head. Even that can get caught in rocks and such. That light touch is really what it's all about. I have a bad habit of making huge hooksets into stumps so don't feel bad OP. It happens to everyone!
  13. I would love to do this! Just gotta handicap dem southern boys haha... Just saying.
  14. I've been told abstinence is the only way to be 100% sure.
  15. At least the water tables are looking to be a little more normal so far. Lakes and ponds were crazy low last summer in WMass.
  16. Sorry to hear that! I got got my card stolen on vacation once while I was out in Utah. F'ers cleaned me out of like $2k and then of course I had no money whatsoever, and no way to access my savings either! That was a really rough couple days out there lemme tell ya.
  17. It's so hard to pick favorite megabass colors though... There are so many special editions and limited batches floating around, my "favorite" changes all the time. It would be way easier to name a top 5-10 than to just pick two. That's a tall order haha
  18. Pagani raigyo gg bass (for looks) tennessee shad pro blue (for hatch matchers)
  19. Ordered up a bunch of parts today. Fabricated most of a rod holder system before realizing I didn't like it so I ordered up some golf bag tubes for the rod tips and 'End of the Road' style rubber strap clamps for the handles. I've already got the footings mapped out so the tubes will be easily removable but I really think that will be the safest and most secure way of doing it. On to the trailer hitch/wheelbarrow cart thingamabobber that's in my head now. Thankfully I have some heavier-wall aluminum square tube stock to work with... Just have to find some suitable wheels and a trailer receiver now to really start messing with stuff.
  20. Wow I have been on a tackle buying spree lately. It's like the more the skiing season depresses me, the more the stoke just transfers over to fishing. Should be able to finish up my new canoe's rod holders today too... It's good to have high quality distractions when your luck is down.
  21. Props for her even knowing the names! She would probably look great on a new boat too I bet.
  22. Lol... Of course it's a terrible investment. Many of life's greatest pleasures are!
