  1. Jen? Sarah? Tasha? I think you dated her whole family dude. ;D You guys have no idea. He likes them pretty but God help them if they can spell ;D
  2. Bittersweet. The day Russ was striper fishing I was out with my wife for her first trip of the year. I got my new PB of 7.3. In roughly12-14 ft, watermelon/red *** beaver (Thanks Brent), 1/8 oz black bullet. Hit on the drop, think she was on a bed?? Sucks Russ wasn't with me, almost didn't feel right but considering the fish he was catching on the Bay, as a team, we covered all the bases for the infamous june moon frenzy.
  3. Nicholas just asked me,Dad, am I gonna get to fish on tv too? Do I have to ask Rusty? Can I call him?"
  4. Everyone, on behalf of my family, i thank everyone for the kind words. The responce from a bass site isn't usually taken so personally but although I don't post here much, you all know me as LBH's best friend and partner in crime in his videos. EVEN STILL, with my limited presence, you guys step up and say some very comforting things. My wife has read this also. Like Russ said, if 1 person wears a pfd more now, than it wasn't all in vain. From the Jordans- THANK YOU Bassresourers
  5. When Russ first came up with the idea, I was like,oh d**n,the kids got it this time. He asked me to help with some of the internal stuff and that's when I really saw the potential. It's too bad this kind of stuff takes so long. He's had the idea since like 1999 I think. First all the patent stuff and all the waiting. Now that it is rolling, it is still creeping. He has the week off and is pulling his hair out, stuck between stages. You guyz know how he is.........go,go,go,go,go, it's almost funny to watch as his friend but I wish him and his new partner the best of luck. Couldn't happen for a better guy if it goes. Go get them Hook, your home crew is behind you 100% (and of course, I want one when they come out!!)(I think NEED is a better word but you get the point, don't forget me! ) ps- are we on for tomorrow? 4am mom and dads? Hit me on the radio
  6. I GOT ONE!!!! Doesn't even smell funny, lol. Russ made those last year to give out to some key folks at the fork trip. I got one, (blue) HawgHunter got a green one (seen in his videos) and Matt fly got an orange one (in new fork video that I am still trying to get over not being in ) We have had vests and hoodies for a few years but since the whole video thing, Russ gets constant inquiries about where they can be bought. I believe he is working on meeting that demand as we speak. Edit this if I "outted" you hook.
  7. terminator finesse jig (1/8) w/ strike king craw trlr
  8. oh yeah, way to go posting a map of our holes. That was smart. :-/
  9. Excellent Russ!! Looks like you had a good time Hook (russ's nikname at home-Rusty Hook) Early warning, your battery is dead in your car. I should have started it a few times for you but couldn't get over there till Thurs. You said the batt was 4 yrs old to so let me know if you need me today and we can go get another one. ps- ask Art if I can borrow his phone for a second ;D. I think I want to work at the bureau of reclamation too!
  10. Boy I wish I could go again this year. I should be there next year though and will probably be bringing my oldest boy,Nathan. I hope you guys have some fun! I can't wait to see the pics and video, even if it kills me,lol.
  11. Ha ha, I'm at Russes for lunch, he showed me this one to read and had to log on and contribute, lol. Hey guys! Matt_Fly- funny stuff, popcorn, pull up a seat, haha
  12. Lol $1/ per word $50 for a bus ticket when he can't produce them! Where's the beef?
  13. You mean with that big list of companies you rep for, you can't hook the guy up? Make him "pro-staff",lol
  14. .....and the LBH clan grows bigger.....and bigger,.....and bigger.... Welcome Aboard Nate! 8-) ps- thanks for the hook retrieval!
  15. Me and LBH actually target them sometimes in the spring when they are running crazy. Considered a junk fish to many, but to us a great fight is a great fight. I think he had senko77 out there this spring and they had a "snakey" day. Lots of fun no matter how you slice it. They also do a fine job at helping the snapping turtles keep the bluegill population from exploding. fishrulz- Be careful when holding this way. I like to do the same but put my fingers right on the gill plate so they cant slip up and catch a gill if the fish squirms, but of course we all know pickerel NEVER squirm, lol, yea right! JUST DON"T LIP THEM!! lol
  16. Mulberry fishing. Wierd but certainly a blast!
  17. LOVE those, thought they were my secret. Are those originally made for Pike do you think? My father has some s/b's twice as large for pike (not so much weightwise but profilewise) Ledgebuster, just the word gets me antsy to fish, haha
  18. I got this one, lol. The reason we use spinning gear at that place is because over the years, we have learned that "the long cast gets the bass". We have lightened the lines and lengthened the rods. When we first started at that lake we were both strong Baitcasters. That's pretty much all we did. As we progressed through the stages, we learned that the fish we want, are NOT on the banks. Open water fishing, lighter lines, longer casts, resulted in bigger, better bass. I have fished clubs but Russ hasn't. As a team, we fished the Clear Water Challenge for 2 yrs and our technics and tactics that we had devoloped at our home lake paid off like nothing I've ever participated in event-wise. We converted quite a few baitcasters when it comes to clear water. This is nothing new. West coast has been doing this for years. As for that particular fish, we had doubles going. He actually hooked first and said get the camera but i couldn't because I was also getting ready to say the same thing so he opened his bail and filmed me 1st. Hence all the make-up when I finally landed mine and he was able to pass the camera and get to his rod. This makes a huge chance of losing a fish but we were doing well and the fun of a double is always worth it. Especially live bait fishing. We have had more "fun" fishing in the last few weeks than in a looong time. That's what it's all about,,right???
  19. Not sure if I'm going to be able to make it this year guys. I'm going to try and LBH has assured me of a place to sleep should I decide last minute but family obligations are a priority right now with my boys at that age I just don't want to miss. If I take a vacation, out of state for a week, it should be to do somthing with them. You guys are just the type to understand that!. As LBH pointed out to me, I'll never get these years back, before I know it, one day they will be 4 and the next day I'm picking them up from the police station, lmao and he also reminded me that in a few yrs, the 3 of us will be there but for now I gotta share them with the wife, lol. I think he doesn't want me hoggin' all his BASS, DOH!~! Have a blast guys, I'll be there in spirit! (Plus I think we can all assume there will be a video)(or 4,lol)
  20. I fish light line, often. (Clear water) I would hate to have everything rated at 8lb test and have a state record 12 on. I think I would hunt them down and do Baaaaaad things, lol. it looks like the ENDS of the wire point forward and would grab weeds
  21. I am NOT looking forward to this conversation with the wife. :-/ :-? :-* Right now, I'm trying to Pre-calculate how many pairs of shoes this will ultimately cost me again, lol.
  22. I will echo what T-Mike said. Great advice right there. Guides are also available for the 1/2 day and will usually accomodate you for whatever you want to do. Be it a father/son learning trip, I would favor those days most if I were a guide.
  23. So all the extra motors are needed to achieve the 3-5 mph in those boats because they are so heavy? Are they loaded with stuff that makes them THAT heavy or is the weight from all the extra batteries needed to run all the motors? That would seem pointless, I don't get it. Can you explain more? Thanks
  24. Be reeeeal careful. Aluminum is very tough to weld. I went to 2 welders who both turned me down before I asked the guys at the marina that build tuna towers to do it. Somthing about it "arc-ing"? Says you can melt big sections with seconds of overheating. I personally don't know much about it but I do know that the people who do it for a living were nervous. This was for a gash about 10 inches long. If you are talking about bad rivets, there are lots of other, safer solutions. LBH ended up with the boat I had welded. He can give you more info. He can also tell you how to use a tapered head nut/bolt to fix rivets. His old jon had like 60 leaky rivets, I helped him do the whole floor w/bolts and it has never leaked since. My dad now owns his old jon (different one) but it still doesn't leak a drop 7-8 yrs later.
