Never. He's too smart to get his hands dirty like that. That's what his henchmen are for.
  3. BS!!!! She's rented! ;D
  4. I don't know the exact name of this one but the Shaw Grigsby plastics (strike king) make a tiny little craw that is a very nice, SMALL succulent little morsel. !/8 oz bullt, pegged or as a trailer, deadly. I want to see if LBH can talk Brent into researching both a tiny craw and a craw trailer for 08.
  5. How do you get your sponsored fishing partner to share the wealth? ;D ;D
  6. I should thank you, haha,. Russ has made videos of my kids since they were born. Those, especially the fishing ones, will be priceless to the boys when they are older. I can't wait to start fishing and filming again. Nick has been casting at snowbanks over in the high school parking lot. He said he feels like "the guys" because he's fishing in his snowsuit. He thinks his snowsuit looks like the bibs we wear fishing. I'm ready, the boys are ready, i just wish mother nature was.
  7. When the bite is real good, that's when I like to change up a lot. Try some of the things I have been throwing around in my head. Get a bite on it and move on to another new bait. This gives me the confidence to throw these newer baits again in the future.
  8. I use 2 super magnums for home storage and keep a smaller falcon bag for on the boat.
  9. My old stage name 8-) ;D Actually, LBH used to have names for his go to jigs. The Rocky ledge finesse was called Dirk the Jig-Lure. I adopted it from there.
  10. Thank you everyone, you've all been a big help.
  11. I need some suggestions for finesse baitcaster's. Something for lures in the 1/8 to3/8 range. I am looking at the BPS pro lite finesse and those ratings are in my range. Can anyone suggest a reel with these qualifications that is slightly higher end than the pro lite? Thanks in advance. Dirk
  12. Assuming this is a joke. Please put a "lol" after it or something so he knows you aren't serious, he's looking for real advice. You can now get Gore-tex shells close to the same price range as FT's. Avoid the insulated stiff, this is for winter. The shells are great, you layer accordingly underneath. Well worth the few extra dollars for a FITTED, 110% waterproof, breathable garment. FT's are not warm, are like wearing a big bag and have very little wind protection. Yes, they are ok for the money but their best feature is that you can squish them into a ball and shove them in a glove compartment of your boat. (Stow-able) Most importantly,...the "waterproofness" wears out. If you do a search for "rain gear" "eain suits" or "foul weather gear", you'll find a few threads from last year that were quite lengthy. If you do go the Gore-tex route, shop around. Cabelas guidewear are a great value but if you can afford the cream of the crop, I highly recommend The North Face. This stuff is worth saving for IMO, you'll use them for more than just fishing. WORD! I don't have the North face stuff like Russ but I wouldn't get caught in weather w/o Gore-tex gear EVER again. I had toggs, hated them, they are like wearing a bulky chamois cloth. They are very rigid and non conforming to your body. By the time they soften up, they don't work anymore. I threw mine away and then my brother got me a set for xmas,hahaha,... I gave them to my dad who ended up buying the cabelas guidewear as suggested above. I think the toggs are in his golf bag now.
  13. Pretty soon, we will be going through THISagain ;D
  14. I only use morsel type tiny finesse baits so it's always a #4
  15. which buzzbait (not including mini ones) can you work the slowest?
  16. LBH is waiting to hear from work in regards to getting the time off and if he does,....I'M THERE!!! It KILLED me to drop him at the airport last year and then turn around and drive home. Those were 8 of the longest miles I've ever driven But I'm pretty sure no one saw me cry :'( ;D
  17. That thing has made my head snap around way too many times this summer ;D And yeah, I cheated, I put "guppy juice" in my Bang bottle ;D ;D
  18. Crazy. Just crazy. This is my favorite moon of the year, it makes the fall not so depressing
  19. I've only seen 1 gator in my life, at Fork on the first BR trip. I don't think I would want to fish around THAT one!!
  20. I was raised to wake up at dawn and go with my dad. Around 7th grade, girls were more important, fishin on saturday was more of a chore and i got away from it. Then around 9th grade, I went down to Stump Pond, bored, had a few lures in my tackle box I hadn't touched in a few years. I always used mostly dads stuff or he had me using live bait to keep me interested. It was so bad, my best lure I had after inspecting my box was red devil, lol well a couple casts from shore, daydreaming about how I will spend the rest of the day once I prove to myself why I got out of doing this, and WHAM. I had a fish on. It was probablt THAT moment although I never really thought about the exact moment till reading this. Cool thread. So, I kept casting and was catching fish after fish,......on an artificial. I think this will be a key factor in many of the replies to come on this thread. Just like Avid, it's the first "real" one,...on an artificial....that makes you feel like you may have talent,...very rewarding, very addicting feeling for a young male. Now look at me,...hahaha I can't control it.
  21. I would concentrate on the mouths of those 10-13 ft deep coves. Use whatever you have confidence in.
  22. What a day, thanks for including me Hook
  23. I just wanted to say HI and THANKS for all the comments on the recent LBH videos. My son Nick thinks he's a movie star now. I am still trying to explain to him that bass don't grow to be 189pounder bass ;D Below is a pic of Russ and I at the CAST event. What a day that was, icredible. I'm not an emotional guy but I sure was this saturday. So I just wanted to check in and say and wish LBH safe travels this week. He is heading to Cali to meet up with Redlinerobert to discuss some business opportunities and to fish clear lake and the delta,WITHOUT ME!!! HAHA, just kidding, have a blast Russ, I'll keep our green friends company while you are gone. 1 more thing,I plan on being at this years get together. It killed me to miss it last year. I hope to meet many of you there.
