  1. My Rosewoods are the best rods In my box hands down.
  2. I would go with Denali also The Rosewood line is awesome
  3. I would suggest learning in the back yard when I was learning I would set up 5 gal buckets in the yard and cast at them ,I still practice flipping into cups and other objects to stay sharp .if you practice on the lake you will become frustrated and give up and go back to spinning rods ect. I learned how at probably 12 years old so you can do it, good luck.
  4. I fixed one of mine a long time ago I put the insert on the sharp end of a pencil and super glued it back in place .
  5. I use the Denali Rosewood Frog rod paired up with a 7.0 Lews Baitcaster .it is an awesome setup the rod has power and sensitivity and works great for me. and the reel picks up the line fast enough to make a solid hookset and quickly gets the fish to the surface almost skipping them across the pads
  6. I made my own for real cheap with just a trip to home depot . it lasted for a year with no problems until the wind blew me in to the mud and my TM got stuck when I yanked on it hard ( my fault) it broke the plastic connector piece on the TM .I felt the same about paying 30-40 bucks but I will buy one before the spring.
  7. I would suggest based on your budget to take a look at the Denali Jadewood flipping rod, its 7'6 extra heavy fast action rod and comes in at $120. I have the Kovert series Flipping rod witch is 7'8 with the same action and it is awesome. it however is $150 and is getting away from your budget . But the jadewood line is an affordable series of rods and offers a variety of technique specific rods . I have over a half dozen Denali rods and all of them have worked flawlessly for me ,I would look there before buying any rod .
  8. I don't have any koverts yet but I do have a dozen Denali Rods and there is not one that I am not impressed with. I have the Denali Rosewood cranking rod and it is off the chain
  9. I would look at the denali noirwood 7' worm and jig rod. They also have some more budget friendly rods In the jadewood and rosewood lines. They are all great rods and are very well built.
