Posted a few weeks ago. Installed on my 115 OptiMax Pro and it works great! Click the link and you will see how easy it is to install and it will work on 40hp and up Smartcraft engines manufactured from 2003 and up. The pictures are: 1. My purchased product 2. Installation on my 115 OptiMax Pro 3. The information about my engine after the install taken from my IPhone.

How large a part do electronics play in your fishing?

Yes as it accesses the same port used by a qualified technician. When I installed on my engine I had a good idea of the hours and it gave me the correct number of hours and the current status of your required services!

How large a part do electronics play in your fishing?
I purchased my boat 5 years ago this past July, so I do not consider myself a “superior fisherman”, but I am able to share why I think fish finders are important equipment to have on a boat. My boat came equipped with a Lowrence X-4 Pro fish finder, and being eager to get on the water I realized a few things: Fish finders provide you with information about how shallow you can operate your specific boat without a hydraulic jack plate. They also show you as you begin to move away from skinny water were the drop off begins as fish like to travel this ridge for a number of reasons And, as has been mentioned you now know the water temperature So, I started taking my boat to lakes that I have never been on and bigger than the last one, and that is when I realized that my Lowarance X-4 Pro located at the helm was not adequate for a specific issue: The bigger the lake the more I could explore and the farther I went from where I launched my boat. When it came time to head back to the dock and daylight gave way to evening and I turned to head back to the dock, particularly on new and big lakes, I didn’t always recognize exactly where I was on the lake much let alone how to get back to the dock. So, I upgraded to a fish finder with a chart plotter and it came with down scan imaging; now I can go where I please and if concerned about where I am or how to get back to the dock I can have my fish finder plot a course back to my dock even in the dark. Now with all this information at the helm I thought I was set except I don’t fish at the helm. I fish at the bow and that information on depth, water temperature, contour lines, boat orientation I no longer have access to unless I want to rearrange the unit at the helm, so I added a second and larger screen at the bow. Now some of these guys and ladies have systems with side scan imaging and the ability to communicate waypoints and mark structure to multiple units, but they are expensive and may be suitable for your second upgrade.

Yeah, I agree the price point allows you to receive and transmit - if necessary- the needed information on the motor. I feel comfortable knowing I have a log at the tip of my fingers too.

I purchased from a local dealer but financed through Bass Pro as Bass Pro made me an interest rate offer of 2.99% with 10% down at the time of my purchase. If a dealer sells Tracker boats they are required to tell you about the financing through Bass Pro. The best place to purchase is where you receive the lowest interest rate! To be sure ask the dealer and Bass Pro what interest rate they will finance you at, then go with the lower rate. The 190TX and 195TXW as equipped will last you a lifetime! But, I know you will want to upgrade the electronics, trolling motor, and an anchoring system just to really feel comfortable on the water and that is not inexpensive! The 190TX is offered about 5k less than the 195TXW; that 5k would go a long way toward upgrades. With the 195TXW you spend an additional 5k for 35 more horsepower and a 9 inch wider beam! I spent a few months researching aluminum bass boats and what I realized is the various manufactures are competing for your dollars so don't believe all the negative commentary you hear about each manufacture. I have taken my boat to Bass Pro for my installs and they have been great to deal with. The best boat to get is the one that puts a smile on your face and a bass in your live well. Good luck!
