It's a 6 footer. I basically wade out until the water is almost over my waders, then plant the ladder. It also provides me with a stripping basket which is a neccesity for the shooting head system I am using. Lots of fun, but your feet hurt like hell after 10 hours in 40 degree water on those narrow steps.

Fish big swimbaits. When I did that I spent less money on replacing gear. Well, on most trips anyway. I did break off 4 Huddlestons one day, and that was when they were still 39.99, lol

Ive caught carp up to about 30lbs on conventional gear. That was the only time I ever fly fished for them, in moving water, @ 7,700 feet, in Colorado.

Youre gonna discover that keeping the hook clear is only half the battle with the hudd, even after you have mad e the hook weedless, the nose of the bait is a big problem.
