  1. I daringly retrieved a bait from 8-9 feet of muddy water this spring when the water was 52. I broke it off an hour later. Awesome.
  2. It happens. If its any consolation, I have left THOUSANDS of dollars stuck in rocks and trees.
  3. White Onyx.... What is your address and what hours do you work? Is the Key under the mat? How big is your dog?
  4. I have lost sleep waiting for Modern Warfare 2. Fact.
  5. I truly think that it affects knot strength. I stopped using it about six months ago, after a few mysterious break offs. The bad part was, they were fish on 8-10 inch swimbaits. So not only big fish gone, but a couple hundred dollars worth of baits too. Hasnt happened since I stopped using the stuff. Im not gonna flat out say that L&L was the problem, but it definitely hurt my confidence in my gear.
  6. --fourbizz to girlfriend-- " Check out this website!, you wanna try?" fast forward 2 minutes --fourbizz is ready to send the effen computer through the wall.-- That repetition gets annoying quick if youre not the one playing with it, lol.
  7. What can I say, I'm a lightweight ;D
  8. I heatset every coat except for the finest of dustings.
  9. The main ingredient in both Heet fuel treatment, and Heet windshield deicer is methyll alcohol. So regular old jack daniels, or denatured alcohol would have the same effect, unless there is something in mix that causes it to stick to the surface better. In either case, evaporation would probably be a big problem, at least as a deterrent. Im sure it would work fine to de-ice your rig, but probably not to prevent it. Anyone with experience with silicone lubricants would recognize silicone as a big part of KVD after using it. Maybe I am an internet fisherman, cause I dont have any steelhead pictures to prove my worth on a bass fishing forum, lol.
  10. Nope, pure wild rainbow. The only cutts we have at drive up destinations around here are Lahontans, and they care characterized by very very few spots. The same day I caught the brookie, I caught this Lahontan. There are two little lakes in Yosemite that have Colorado Cutts, and they are a bear to get to. We also have Paiute Cutthroat, which are the rarest trout on the planet, and they grow to about 9". There is only one lake to my knowledge that stocks Cuttbows around here, and they are triploids.
  11. He is a freaky, weird bastich... But I dig his music.

  14. Boy what a week! On Tuesday, my girl and I headed up to a little river that has always been very tough for me. It is a wild trout only stream, barbless artificials are the only thing allowed. I tend to only fish it in the summer, which is why I always struggle. After about half a mile of swinging streamers and moving downstream proved ineffective, I switched to a small beadhead BWO nymph and proceeded to lose a 20+" brown and smaller rainbow. Moving farther downstream, I saw a few fish picking BWO emergers from the film. Switched over to a BWO dry and picked up a bow about 17", a 22" skinny bow, and a fat 20 inch brown in the next hour or so. After that the hatch died off and so did the action. Missed a couple and lost one. Might have only been three fish for the day, but I was stoked. This little river has always beat me up and sent me home bloody. We then drove to the trailhead for Wednesday's destination and crashed in my girls car. The next morning we got up and hiked the 5ish miles into our lake for the day. We eventually came over the hill to see this Right away, I had a large brown follow my offering in. I was blown away. Very big fish for a hike in backcountry destination. I was fishing a large streamer and finally had one of these russian subs suck it in. I hooked it and started freaking out and yelling for my girl to come help me land it. I managed to keep it hooked for all of 4 seconds before it pulled loose. I felt like crying/vomiting/breaking stuff for the rest of the day, as I was unable to get another one of them to eat it, and I had lost both of the flies in that effective pattern. Thursday I had to work, and that sucked, but I ran down to the fly shop and picked up $50 in streamers, as I was gonna take a second stab at those big brownies. Friday morning my buddy Brandon and I piled into the car at 5am and headed to the trailhead. As soon as we came over the hill, I found one fish cruising and it summarily ignored me when I presented a tasty streamer to it. Brandon didnt see that one, but as he was casting, he had a fish follow in his lure and not commit. It moved out of his casting range and into mine, so I plopped my fly down in front of him and he responded to my slow strip by moseying on over and leisurely sucking it in. The second I hit him he freaked out and headed straight for a deep drop off littered with big old boulders and I knew I was screwed. Knowing I had 6lb flouro tippet, I put all the pressure that I dared on him and was able to keep him from breaking me off in the boulders. After a couple hair raising minutes of powerful bulldog runs, I got him in. 24", weight unknown. This fish was significantly smaller than the fish I lost the trip before, which is scary, because I thought the first one was about 24", now I know just how big that one was, and it makes me sad, lol. I lost one other good fish, not as big as the one I landed, and also caught a handful of 14" fish. Brandon was unable to get a big one, but he did stay pretty busy with the little ones. We crashed in South Lake Tahoe that night and headed to our next destination Saturday morning. I didnt catch a ton of fish, but I did set a new pb. A cute little brook trout of 21.5".
  15. Are you using water based paints? If so, just heat set and forget about waiting for it to dry. Many thing coats are better than thick ones.
  16. Great story Micro. "and became the master of my own domain" has now been added to my lexicon of innuendo ;D
  17. For standard, light line dropshotting, I use Sufix Braid in 10lb test, with a 4-8 ft leader of Sunline FC Sniper Flouro in 6-10lb test.
  18. an EMPTY .22 case is all you need. put it in the chamber when dry firing. i did this a lot installing a Power Customs action in my 10/22. Yep, but dont fire it over and over in the same spot. Use other empties or turn the casing a bit.
  19. I would get the 7'6", but then again, I really do not like any of the 7'11" Okumas.
  20. Okuma 7'6" XH Gloomis 955 Gloomis 956 Graphite USA 85 Monster Mag wrapped by Alpster Ive owned quite a few others, and have fished most of what is available off the rack.
  21. Is there a more intelligent combination that could mean "nice job dummy"?
