Mop Football Jig Tactics ?
Just for grins - I picked up my first mop football jig in black living rubber with a few purple & blue silicon strands mixed in (Buckeye Lures Confusion Color Mop Football Jig) . Those who fish the mop style football jig with a living rubber skirt - any tips , tricks or tactics to share ? It appears the living rubber strands take on a life of their own even while the jig is sitting still on the bottom ...Seems like a good cold water jig to have in the line up - just need to know any differences than plain silicon skirt football jig in terms of the retrieve .

March Pre-Spawn ... Favorite Lures ?
In many parts of the country March marks the month when bass will start moving up shallow for the spawn - what are your most productive lures for fisihing the pre-spawn ? Note : El Nino weather pattern has seen many areas of the country receive a lot more rain -> runoff -> very stained water than usual ... If this fits you , how will you change up pre-spawn lure selection ?

Yellow Braid Without Leader ?
Abrasion resistance of using a leader is of course a key reason to not use straight braid (if the situation calls for it) . I have a new ML spinning outfit I'm going to try #8 lb. Gliss in yellow on for a Ned Rig with and without a leader (the Gliss is a VERY small diameter -line color below the water line can't possibly matter).

Yellow Braid Without Leader ?
For those who use yellow colored braid in smaller sizes (i.e. < #30 lb.) how many of you have success without using a leader ? Do you find coloring the first couple of feet of yellow braid makes a difference OR it doesn't matter ?

Black Fat Albert Single Tail Grub Applications ?
I had a neighbor give me a few packs of black Zoom Fat Albert Single Tail Grubs because he never uses them ... *Surely there are applications for a pure black single tail grub ? I'm thinking to use a black single tail grub as a trailer on a black & blue swim jig would be appropriate - any other ideas come to mind for using black single tail grubs ?

Need advice on a shakey head rod
^^This^^ ! The 6'8" - 6'10" length in a M action is ideal and you will find the better shakeyhead specific spinning rods in that length range and M action (MH action is too stiff for shakeyhead) .

Hook Size On Z-Man Shrooms Jigheads
The Z-Man ShroomZ hook size is a #2 for the Ned rig . Bluebasser86 & a few of the other KS Ned rig experts pour some awesome jigs - for something close I use mushroom jigs from Gopher in a #2 or #4 hook size , as well as, a couple of styles I found on E-Bay ... Your best bet though is just pick up and move to the Ozarks

If you fish fluoro
Don't listen to Raul - he uses #12 lb. Big Game Mono just to catch monster size Bluegills in Mexico (during the Bluegill spawn he jumps up to #15 lb. )

Pro Qualifier
Currently they don't get any less expensive than $79 on sale . Two years ago when the BPS Spring Classic REALLY had a good sale I bought 3 new in box PQ's for $49 each (in store only).

BPS Classic - dissapointing turnout
Poor turnout because over all - the BPS Classic sale offers were not that good as compared to years past .

Small jigs on spinning gear
Booyah Baby Boo Jig + Zoom Creepy Crawler Trailer is a GREAT finesse jig combo (better jig than Strike King Bitsy Jig at the same price). For finesse botom dragging - it's hard to beat a Bass Patrol 1/4oz. football jig (inexpensive) with a baby Paca Chunk Craw . Green Pumpkin and Black & Blue are the only colors you need to get started !

Best braid for Ultralight spinning?
I just bought a spool of #4 lb. Seaguar Senshi mono to try as leader material - now to find some #5 lb. Power Pro to use as mainline - I would love to try the #3 or #4 lb. Power Pro but it doesn't look like anyone on-line is carrying it currently .

Need some finesse jig feedback
^^This^^ !! ... ML / Fast spinning rod with #6 lb. co-poly , mono or FC line ... For the rod / line setup you have I would look to buy Strike King Bity Bugs or small Booyah jigs in like 3/16th , 5/16th , 7/16th or 1/4th oz sizes and use a baby Net Bait Paca Craw , baby Strike King Rage Craw or smallest Berkley Chigger Craw . You could also look to use a small single tail or double tail grub (<3") or lastly a small paddle tail swim bait (<3") . Black & Blue and Green Pumpkin colors will cover the majorty of your needs in PA.

Best braid for Ultralight spinning?
Daiwa new "J" Braid #8 lb. or Power Pro #8 lb. braid with a 5' section of #4 lb. ~ #6 lb. mono or FC line joining the two with a Modified Albright (i.e. Crazy Alberto) knot . Tied properly , the knot will go through the guides just fine - just make sure not to reel the knot actually into the reel to prevent a snag / delay while casting which could cause the line to break ... Good Luck !

Shakey head worms
^^This ^^ !! ...A real sleeper worm - size wise a cross between a Roboworm thickness and a Zoom Finesse or Trick Worm available in 4.5" & 6" lengths - both are good and cost effective (Larry Nixon design) .

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
Well here I am in rehab at : "Whispering Meadows Bait Monkey Clinic" in upstate GA. My last update I noted that with good behavior I was scheduled to get out before the Spring Sales Events - that is until I got caught with : "TW's Pros Winter Picks" which was smuggled inside of a cheescake which arrived shipped with a Kansas City postmark ( no doubt a do gooder Ned Rigger trying to help me out ...) I have another week added to my stay here for additional treatment - I hope it goes by fast ...

Shakey head worms
I find the Flick Shake worm better for whacky rigging due to curved ends.
