I believe the Menace tails come packaged with the tails connected : Is that the prefered method (tails connected) for flipping and punching ?

While Yo-Zuri Hybrid may be good for many things - I would still choose mono line specifically for top water baits .

I recently discovered the Rage Tail Menace - I'm starting out using it on a swim jig rigged as a trailer with the twin tails up & down (vertical) . I'm sure there are other rigging options (both rigged alone and as a jig trailer) ... What are your favorite ways to rig the Rage Tail Menace ?

Thanks for the replies ... I believe I will skip using the bait holder and just use just a small dab of super glue on the head to hold it secure .

The Strike King Tour Grade Swim Jig (TW) has a seperate trailer rigging wire below the hook : Do you thread your soft plastic Trailer on the hook first - then through the "trailer rigging wire" next OR just rig your soft plastic trailer separately on the "trailer rigging wire" blow the hook ? ...I have not seen a swim jig with such a separate "trailer rigging wire" below the hook before and just needed advice on the best way to rig soft plastic trailers to the Strike King Tour Grade Swim Jig ... Thanks in advance !

Zoom Super Fluke : White Pearl , White Ice , Water Melon , Smoke'n Shad colors Gammi EWG 3/0 ~ 4/0 hook 10lb. ~ 20lb. Braid with 8lb. ~ 10lb. Mono or FC leader Zoom Super Fluke Jr. *Same as above except Gammi 2/0 EWG hook

Here's the deal with that : It's not methiolate OR any other color you would recognize ... Big Bite sells these in packs of five which are basically mistakes , one off's , an odd-color run , or something they perhaps made up as an experiment they tried for some pro angler . DSG's sells the same thing - most colors are aweful but occasionally you will find a gem in the stack if you look .

Here's what I believe to be an interesting question - when do you tone down a jig trailer that has lots of action (Zoom Ultra Vibe Speed Craw) for a trailer with much less action and a more subtle approach (Zoom Super Chunk) ? ... Do you base your decision on water temperature , bass activity level , or some other factor(s) ? ...Let's see your replies !

For those of you who use the Zoom Swimmin Super Fluke Jr. (3.5") - what are your favorite methods to rig them as well as the retrieve ? Based on their size , I'm thinking a 2/0 Gammi EWG hook with a 1/16th oz. bullet sinker and a bobber stop might be a place to begin ... Perhaps a 2/0 weighted swim bait hook (not sure which ones are good) might be another possibility ...The Swimmin Super Fluke Jr. also has amazing thump at slow speeds - I imagine a steady retrieve may be best - Your thoughts ?

#30lb. braid with mono 30% ~ 40% mono backing ; join lines with double uni or crazy alberto knot . Spool your braid through the middle of a thick telephone book to get some tension on the line - key to keeping braid from digging in is reel it on tight ! Here's another tip : Carry a small wash rag with you - every so often after casting , wet the wash rag , weave it between a few fingers and run the braid between your fingers putting tension on it as you reel the braid back in . Lastly , watch your drag - braid has NO stretch so loosen up the drag more than you would with mono or FC . Hope this helps ... Follow above with #30 lb. braid and you will have few line related problems - except professional over runs which are on you

Yes Raul , but had your Culprit worms developed a decidedly different smell at 10 years old vs. than when they were new ?

I'm curious if anyone has experienced the below issue with long term storage of soft plastics ? Over the last couple of years I bought a variety of soft plastics on sale from Netbait , Roboworm and a few others . I stored them in their original bags in my basement ( fairly even temps / perhaps more humidity than upstairs in the house but I do run a humidifier ) . Moving on , I went downstairs to pull out a few bags from the basement inventory and noticed quite a new smell coming from the bags : The best way to describe it is the soft plastic smelled as if it had "turned" or something - almost smelled "musty" but otherwise looked alright and were still soft and pliable ( not dried out or anything) . To conclude , the soft plastics were like new - except for a strong smell as if the soft plastics had "turned" ? I'm concerned that bass may not be attracted to these soft plastics now unless there is a way to rid them of the new smell ? ... I'm thinking to rinse the soft plastics in water , then take them out of their packages and then lay them outside on a picnic table to get abundent fresh air . Anyone experience the above with long term soft plastics storage ?? ... Any advice how to restore these soft plastics ?? ...If I can't find a suitable method to rid these soft plastics of the smell then I will resort to only buying what I need for immediate usage and forget stocking up when the sales hit !
