Good comments - yes , motorized / pedal drive with good stability . I'm 6'1" 300 lbs. so weight capacity (i.e. 450 lbs. - 600 lbs. ) versus being a real tall guy are requirements . I believe there are two types of stability : Primary and Secondary ? I believe secondary stability refers to resistance to tipping over after reaching a certain angle ? Any way , yes - a stable platform for a high seat position as well as stability fishing while standing . The ability to add a stand assist rope / bar would be great as well . Just sort of sounding like I want a "floating dock with a rudder attached" (lol !) bass fishing while seated in a low seat position in a SOT bass kayak is just not real appealing to me versus a high seat position or standing while bass fishing . Lastly , Old Town and Wilderness Systems are good name brands but I did not see anything that appeared to be better than suggestions already made in this thread .

Strike King Rage Swimmers for more aggressive / warmer water bass and Strike King KVD Swim N Shiner for less action in colder water / less aggressive bass .

*My conditions mirror yours , so I would prefer better control with less possibility of backlashing versus distance . I switched to Daiwa spinning reels and have been happy with the quality / features at that $140 and under price point so I would expect the same with either the Fuego CT or Tatula CT .

Perhaps the best "Big Guy" bass fishing kayaks I have found so far with peddle drive or electric motor option are : Jackson Big Rig and Hobie Pro Angler 14 . Although not a true Kayak per se , the Jackson subsidiary Blue Sky Boat Works has their 360 Angler which is an interesting , ultra stable concept ... *I'll take stability over speed - especially for standing , so I can flip , pitch , drop shot and fan cast . So , with the above said what are your favorite / best picks for a stable Big Guy , non - inflatable , bass fishing Kayak with peddle drive or electric motor option ? ... Thanks in advance !

Yes , ^^This^^ ! ... Sorry folks - just commenting my Dobyns rods are on the lighter side of their respective actions / ratings . It's just fine with me as I adjust for it within their rod line up .

Although I did not buy it at this time - I did get to handle a Dobyns Fury 705CB for crank baits at local store and it felt real nice ... I can now see why it is so popular at it's price point !

*For those who routinely use a spinning reel set up with light braid (i.e. approx. # 8 lb. ~ #10 lb. braid for the Ned Rig , please provide any tips you have found useful for reducing those irritating wind knots that often plague light braid / spinning set ups . Please also suggest a light braid line brand you may have found which is less prone to wind knots as well if you have noticed a difference . Thanks in advance !

*I'll add here : Fish it also like a bottom contact crank bait reeling steady with various soft plastic trailers - yet still keeping bottom contact. I use 3/8th ~ 1/2 oz. swing head jigs mostly using various makes on bare bottom pea gravel , sporadic rock reservoirs . The rod I use is specific to a swing head Jig : A 7' Abu Garcia Veritas H/F action and line is a low stretch FC or Co-Poly line in 14 lb. to 20 lb. strength . Reel can be a 6:3:1 which is a nice medium speed for cranking . **With low stretch line and a H/F I get an immediate ricochet of the swing head jig when ever it hits a rock or other obstruction on the bottom - that's when you usually get that desired reaction bite ... A rod with too much tip and / or a line with too much stretch will make that swing head jig hesitate and provide a soft ricochet on release from an obstacle (which again , you don't want) . Besides Tom's article, various articles by Tommy Biffle - forum member @smalljaw67taught me a good deal of what I learned about the swing head jig presentation & equipment choices. Lastly , I will also 2nd the use of an All - Star Carolina Rig specific bait cast rod 7' MH / F (which is more on the heavy side for a MF/F rod) and it does a very good job as a Swing Head Jig / Carolina rod with a low price point .

Much love for Dobyns rods and to each their own for wanting to use such a light bait casting set up requiring a special bait cast reel capable of handling such light lines and lures (i.e. Shimano 50 series). I personally draw the line at a 3 power (Medium) action bait cast rod set up - any lighter and I switch over to a spinning set up .

A leading manufacturer's cranking specific rod under $150 now looks like it may be a good place to start . *The closest rod I have which may work would be my Dobyns Sierra 733C. (rated as MH/F but more like a MHL/F) . I also have a older, perfect Berkley Lightening 6'6" Med/ Moderate Fast bait cast rod I could try (although I would prefer a longer cranking rod) .

In say 7 ~ 8 ft. water depth or less using a KVD 1.5 (or similar) squarebill crankbait - what is your favorite rod , reel and line set up ? ... I lack a true a true shallower water crankbait set up and need to address that - thanks in advance !

I know lines such as Berkley Sensation and P-Line C-XX are co-poly lines - but what about Berkley Big Game and Sufix Siege , are they really mono lines ? (I like all of these lines by the way...)

Keeping mono in a light proof box indoors is a good idea - back in the day in Florida with just one rod & reel I would use a spool of mono that had become dry with powder - like residue from UV damage and still catch bass with it (lol !) ... Today that line would definitely go in the line recycle bin .

*Good comments Tom - try the snap / non snap rigging methods on the TR Tremors and see what works best for you . Zoom Regular Flukes (4") in Pearl White or Shad colors are a good starting point for trailers .

Your only option is to find what you want online and either order multiple packs or order other items from the web site to make shipping charges more worthwhile for you .

*I use the Eco Pro 3.8 on occasion is some colors - while other colors I find better / more consistent runs with the Keitech Fat Impact . Scent is different too on the Keitech Fat Impacts (Squid scent) which no one else uses .
