  1. Just show him this forum.....maybe he will get the hint on his own. If not.....send him swimming!!! I wouldn't let him fish with me until he decides to take the hook out on his own! The ONLY time I LET someone else touch my fish is if they want a shot at guessing the weight.
  2. correction....I didn't need to say during the hunting season. If you are in the act of "hunting". Rattletrap- I agree!!! Although I don't if we have to have the boaters saftey course here.....I don't think we do but it is "recommended".
  3. I should have said...."during the hunting season". :-[ My point is that the kid had a line in the water....same if I was in the woods....sitting, waiting for an animal. I am still in the act of attempting to harvest an animal illegally. According to my uncle, a PGC officer, it is still poaching. Although to be convicted...i'd have to at least shoot at an animal. Fishing differs because the "shooting" is when the line is in the water. That was just explained to me. Bad choice of words....but you get my point.
  4. Well lets put it this way. If, in PA, you are caught "spotting" deer at night, during deer season, you lose your license, all your guns and you have to pay a fine. So I think that losing your fishing gear is appropriate. No matter how you look at it, you are poaching! If I take my gun in the woods, without a license, "knowing" that I won't shoot anything, I'm STILL poaching. Poaching=the illegal harvesting of wildlife, whether it be fish, deer, moose, elk, bear, or whatever you are "hunting". Yes fishermen are hunters also. That being said I think that the kid got off EASY. We have to pay over 30 dollars, thats with the trout stamp, to fish. Just my 2 cents.....
  5. you belong to a forum called Bassresource.com!!! ;D 8-)
  6. Getting LIP isn't a bad thing!!
  7. I only got to try it once, and got some action on a stop and go action. I was just wondering what was working for other people too. Can't wait to see what everyone else is doing!! ;D
  8. I like the idea of a BassResource.com compilation. Gotta get some footage after I find the fish....and the camera. LOL Maybe when EnigmaX and I finally hit the lakes we can get some "good" footage. HAHAHA

I always got to have something Penn State on. Evey time I go out without the PSU I get skunked. Last time my wife washed my PSU hat....went fishing....got skunked.....the next game was the ONLY loss of the season. :'( Talk about a jinx!!! Can't wash the hat after the Blue White game anymore!!!!
  10. Thanks guys!! Being new and all I am trying to save as much money as I can and still be out on the lakes! Easier said then done. Of course I have to clear it with my uncle to go get it but I don't think that will a problem. After being on this forum I started thinking about how to get out there, on the water, instead of in it! LOL I'll let you guys know the progress.....and maybe get some pictures.
  11. About two years ago my Uncle and I found a boat on the property that he bought (it was in some brairs near a little creek). Called the police to see what they said and after about an hour they told us just to keep it. There aren't any numbers on the boat that we found. Currently it is at my cabin about 3 hours north of where I live and doesn't get much use. My question is.....Is it worth it to try and get it registered and out on the lakes around here? I live in PA and can't stand to think that it will only be used a couple times a year. We have a small lake up at the cabin.....the boat does float. Oh yeah it's a little 10ft. flat bottom. Any advice would help. Thanks
  12. I'll be happy with a 5lber. Since I haven't even broken the 4lb mark. Last night I caught a 8" rock bass.....wasn't too bad! Still haven't gotten any lake fishing done.....no boat. :'( But I WILL be out there sometime soon.
  13. Oh yeah, the first job is always fun. I built houses for my first job, always liked the money. Had to quit after each summer, that's when I realized how much the mighty dollar meant. Make sure to have fun with whatever job you take....it is what you make of it. Good Luck! Hey nb1226, are you over there for the war? If so thanks for all that you do! Hope you make it home safe! We will be sure to get some extra fishing done just for you. ;D
  14. Being new to the sport...I like to go out with someone else. I don't have a boat, and my cousins boat is still waiting for the papers. So most of the fishing we do is in the river where we can wade. I like to go with someone mainly for the company. Showing what we catch, my fish is bigger then your fish,..etc. I would really like to find someone that has a boat and would like to teach me how to fish "properly". However, most people, even though I try to "read up" on the fishing techniques and such, don't want to go out with someone "inexperienced". So me and the guys walk the river and creeks...been pretty fun so far. Even if we only catch "dinks".
