I will be attended also this weekend. Ive never attended the backwoods show, although i have attended the OKC hunting and tackle show. I was impressed by the amount of fishing vendors at the OKC show. Hope the backwoods show is the same.

I fished dirty bird this weekend. I was confronted with the same problems as you. With me living in noble I tend to go to thunderbird as my convenient source. Although I did notice they have put cut up cedar trees in the water to help structure since the last time i've been out there. I am with cyro on this one, I think it is overfished.

Unfortuantley I don't know anyone with private ponds around the shawnee area. On the upside, One of my favorite lakes in the state is not to far from where you're at. Try out sportsman lake. It definatley produces for me.

Hey guys! I recently got my tax refund back and was wanting to buy a new bait casting rod and reel combo. I'm looking for a rod that I can fall back on for slow moving baits. I have been considering a lews reel with a falcon or dobyns rod, but would also like to hear your opinions. Thanks fellas.

Welcome to Oklahoma buddy. You got a couple of good lakes around you. I personally like Lake Lawtonka right outside of Lawton. You can catch largemouth, but why I like it is because you can also catch smallies. Also another small lake I like that isn't to far from you is Lake Louis Burtschi. Good luck fishing new spots man!

I appreciate the info. I'm gonna read more into it, although I'm leaning towards the side of collecting it. I have many reels including old abus that are tore up and still kickin. I'm just glad I was given this reel whether I fish it or enjoy it through collection. Thanks again

I recently was given a Abu Garcia ambassadeur 5000c. The reel is in very good condition looks brand new. I'm wondering if I should go ahead and string it up and use it or keep it as a collectors item. I'm not very familar with the history behind this reel but hopefully some of you are.
