Hello I'm taking a road trip with my family to Tennessee in August. We'll be staying in Memphis, Nashville, and (most of our time) in Gatinburg. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on lakes to hit on the way or any lakes that might be around us. I'm coming from oklahoma so I'm a blind squirrel hoping to find a nut on this one. I usually fish for bass but from research I'm assuming that fly fishing is very popular. Also if anyone has any recommendations on any entertainment you enjoyed while in these cites it would also be much appreciated. Thanks guys.

That fish right there is going to make him fish regularly for atleast another 5 years. Just for the chance to catch another fish like that.

I have only fished Eufaula a handful of times, and boy has it been hit or miss. Some days I couldn't stop catching bass and crappie, others I couldn't catch a cold. My girlfriends grandparents have a lake house down by the city of Eufaula so that's where I frequent. I know down in eufaula cove by the marina there is tent spots. Also if they are doing it this year, there is a local tackle shop that puts on a tournament every sat. The meet up is at braums in Eufaula and anyone is welcome to join, there are really great people. When you decide to head that way give me a message on here and I'll see if we'll be going down there, and I'll show you where I caught most my fish.

I just got home from the backwoods show. It was certainly heavy on the hunting side but also had lots of fishing booths. They had about 5 tackle store booths. They also had a bunch of guide booths to the local lakes. I'd say it was worth the entry fee.
