  1. bps buzzbait
  2. I would use shallow running crankbaits, plastic floating worms, and walk the dog lures for shallow stumps and for deeper ones lightly weighted texas rigged lures, and buzzbaits
  3. Jomatty i agree word for word what you have said about brad, ive ordered from him as well and its absolutely a pleasure, its a good idea and nice of you to leave a post about him and his great business ethics
  4. Like zara spook said, its extremely hard to get hung up with a spinnerbait, have it knick and bang against the timber and pause slightly, keep reeling it but at a slower turn of the reel, take a look at your lure to see if that type of algea is staying on the lure as well, if the algae is affecting the lure keep it above the algae line, if not then theres no worries and you can use it anywhere, a texas rigged plastic sounds perfect for this situation if you haven't used them yet for this
  5. Welcome aboard man you will love the site and ask all the questions you have
  6. My favorites are heddon spit n image, heddon crazy crawler, moss boss, and bps buzzbait
  7. If you search you can find tons of previous posts about them, but to answer your question i do not like them at all and would recommend you stay away, many other guys like them but my guess is the overall feeling is people do not like them i.m.h.o
  8. Id absolutely use a propeller lure like a devils horse, with the raining hitting down on the water it creates a choppy effect just like windy days, these are perfect for those type of conditions and it has worked for me, ive caught some monster bass right before and during the rain with propeller surface lures, give it a try
  9. Both, try to do as much fishing as possible, but obviously like others would agree the freedom to get to spots not assessible from the bank via boat is very clutch
  10. 5/8 once firetiger bomber square a
  11. Sorry for the really simple question but i never knew the huge difference in each lures, the straight tail and curl tail worms. How does one work better for certain situations then the other. Never thought much about it until i read in my favorite book about bass fishing that i call my bass Bible, anyhow any clarification would really help so i can try out the new methods this season, only thing on this topic that i know is curly tails get caught up more easily in timber and weeds while its easier to pull through a straight tail worm
  12. Any big profile creature bait in natural colors texas rigged, propeller lures like devil horses for big bass on top water, black and red flake lizards catch me many big bass, yum crawbugs and lastly and most importanly for me hard jerkbaits in firetiger patterns
  13. Welcome man, very nice boat i must add
  14. Definitely give them a shot, might very well help you i really like the looks of their el salto lizards and 4 inch minnows
  15. nope never even heard of them but responded to get your thread back to the top, maybe someone else has and will comment on them, good luck man!
  16. Id have to go with Rapala as well, their lures in my opinion are made well but wayyy too expensive compared to many other crankbaits and so far i have not had luck with these lures, have recently purchased the dt series to fish deeper to target bigger fish, but as of now their my vote, other cranks at cheaper prices catch me quality fish
  17. Im a huge fan of these lures, i havent used the gold colored ones yet, but will this season, in the past ive used the silver ones, what i do know is many people own them but rarely throw them for awhile i did that myself until i picked one up and had great success the entire day, they are optimal for running through sparse lily pads and produce atleast in my case some nice monsters, id also add a paca chunk jr, seeing those arms kick while having the spoon wiggle has caught me many bass and pickerel too, hope this helps- Jon
  18. Lol hahahaha im with the other guys i have caught many small lil bass but this one takes the cake for sure, haha the little ones are quite cute in a striaght way of course ;D
  19. Very nice bass they look really healthy, ive fished a few gold course ponds near me and have caught some nice bass but man your fish are amazing, keep hitting those spots and good luck man
  20. Nice amazing to hear LBH, cant wait to hear all the stories espcially about the big uns that were both caught and lost , great to hear most bonded well!
  21. Id use some crawfish plastics like the yum craw bug with a baby booyah jig head in whatever color works for your lake, or ask a local tackle shop what color the crawfish are in there, that's what i would do, hope this helps
  22. Has anyone used this lure and liked or disliked it, im sure its like all the other surface rubber frogs like the bronzeye and others but i am curious, just won one on ebay with many other baits for a great price, thanks in advance for any input- Jon
  23. Man you guys are tearing it up, wish i could get out on the water, last hurrah of winter seems to have just ended here in yankeeland, keep up the nice numbers and sizes coming and congrats guys!!
  24. I just personally wouldn't have the mentality to ask a ton or any for that matter questions at a dicks or a walmart, i would just go in select what i want and head for the check out line, at a smaller personal tackleshop is where i would stay and talk as much fishing as possible and have my questions answered, they immediately give off a store that has a decent to good selection slightly different than bps or cabelas with some of their own personal store brands but not a store to ask questions and expecting great answers
  25. What does everyone think of this fishing show, ive watched it a few times now and seem to enjoy it, its striahgt forward and to the point, most of the stuff i know, but i still pick up some new things and for some reason just like everything about it, wanted to hear everyone else's opinions good or bad, thanks Jon
