Lemon colored worms?
This color along with bright pink, orange and very strong chartreuses catch bass when they are aggressive, seems to work in the early a.m times for me, but they can work whenever, while on vacation an owner of a tackle shop that i go to put it best" when they want these bright colors, thats all they want and they will smash em, when they dont want em, they'll ignore them", so basically some days they will only touch these colors and others they ignore them like the plaque, after learning this my friend bought bubble gum colored worms, used them the following day and was catching fish left and right, i used more natural greens and darker colors to test the theory, sure enough i was lucky to catch a bass or two.

Snake-like lures
To answer your question long mike, my fishing buddy and i did purchase his snakes and i thought they were garbage, not to take anything away from the man, hes a great fishermen and extremely smart when speaking about bass and their habitats, but as far as the lure goes, the eyes would constantly fall off, the plastic used was junk, within about 10 minutes in the hot sun, either directly in the sun or in its original packaging and shaded by being inside a tackle bag, the lures would melt together and their would be gooey plastic everywhere, ive owned roughly 200 different types of plastic lures and none have done what these have, the hooks that came with the lure did noy stay rigged proper after fixing them constantly, overall i think this lure could have been perfected better and more field testing could have been done, i know when i saw these things the first time on the internet i was psyched and when i used them i couldnt be more dissapointed and for the price of the kit they werent cheap either, id steer clear from these, as far as the big snake comment, just using big 10-12 inch worms can get the job done, it doesnt have to be a snake but more likely if its a big worm it resembles a snake and works, these are all my experiences and my opinions, just throwing it out there so im not attacked haha Jon

fishing spinner baits
Nope for me fishing since i was five with and only with spinning gear ive had no problems setting hooks, how long has your cousin been using spinning tackle? Maybe he's just off on his timing and missing the hook sets

fishing spinner baits
Use whatever your comfortable with first, id say if you want to expand your horizons use the spinning gear with soft baits first, the reason i say this is because you can use soft baits that fish will grab, and you will have to do very little, im not saying this is always the case with regards to having to do little, but for example like a senko often you just pitch it out there and they take it on the initial fall, the reason for this is, it will give you sometime to get used to your new equipment, once familar with the gear use anything, in my particular case ive used only spinning gear my entire life, im going to join the baitcasting crew this spring, therefore im going to use lures that have the least techniques needed, that way i can focus on the reel and how to use it, bass can do most of the work, then ill learn the proper use of the reel to reel them in with the new equipment, for me it seems to simplify things for first timers getting used to new equipment. Hope this makes sense and helps- Jon

Favorite Bass Cover
For the most part i think many of us are going to agree regardless of location but as a new yawker id have to say first and foremost slop, absolutely love pulling bass out of the weeds, the more weedage as i like to call it the cooler the strike and explosion is, after that id say lily pads, fallen trees hanging in the water, and definitely stumps round it out for me

how many canoe fishers out there
I'm a canoe guy as well, its my friends canoe and i fish in the front, im one of those standers, and only sit down when flying down the bank doing 5-10miles per hour haha, i just love the feeling of fishing while standing up and setting the hook home

Jitterbugs
Hey Skillet, what ive heard and have yet to try which i really should is... if you take a drill and make to small holes on both sides of the metal plate, that it really makes a difference and the jitterbug now gurgles a lot which drives the bass nuts, thats just what ive heard but now that you've brought it up im going to take one jitterbug and sacrifice it for the sake of the experiment ;D

Topwater Bait
haha i second that bass109! I also wish they worked on better and new types of snake lures, maybe both hard plastic ones as well as new soft baits
-
GYCB Kreature
I texas rig it weightless with ewg gammy hooks, and for some darn dumb reason havent used this lure much in the last year or so, it really is a good lure
-
Favorite smallie bait ?
A discontinued bps brand lure named "rockin daddy" which is a soft plastic crawfish rigged weightless mostly or with a small bullet weight
-
How do you organize your worms?
Id personally leave them in their original packages and get a small pack like by bps to carry them in, then when your done fishing for the day, put the rigged worm back in the package to regain salt and the attractant the others give off I.M.H.O. Jon

Overall Favorite Soft Bait Company

Yum LPT
Kind of a side note and sorry to not answer your question, i am interested in purchasing a bottle of this stuff but ive heard that it leaks into almost all baits and changes their colors, so im hesitant to buy them, not positive if this is true but thats just what ive heard

HP`s Vampire Blade
I had the vampire spinnerbait by hank a few years ago, i thought it was going to be the next best thing since sliced bread, sorry for the corny phrase, anyhow i didnt get a thing on it and my line tied directly to the lure would get caught up on the blades consistanly, id avoid it like the plague in my opinion

To Tell or Not To Tell
I think im too kind sometimes and give away too much info to other anglers, usually we'll exchange just whats working but who knows if what they are saying back to me is truthful, most fisherman are good guys but giving away secrets seems to be like pulling teeth, personally i dont seem to mind much giving away what lure and color works but exact location i try my hardest not give away, at the best it would be very general, like their being caught in the weedlines about 3-5 feet deep but i wouldnt give away my honey holes!
