I fish from the bank so I've caught my share of dinks, but lately these past couple of months I've been pulling in the bigger ones. I was fishing with one dude over in Rockaway off of Green Pond Rd, and he pulled in a 5 lbr. I was like man that could of been me. So I know they are there.

I know they are out there, I've seen them watching me.

Almost a 2 and a halfer that's about the average size I've been catching. My PB is a little over 2 and a half. Anything 2 lbs and up in Jersey is a darn nice catch. If I catch a 3lbr and up I'll pee my panties.
  6. Shweeet, that's definitely primo top water frog territory. I was like you, my first hollow body frog fish wasn't big either. Now that frog set up will go with you every where because everywhere is where the weeds, mats, and pads are. I don't leave home without it.

Went to a new to me lake on Friday. It was around 68°, and the water maybe lower 60s upper 50s.Threw out everything cranks, spinners, jerks, top waters, and nothing was biting until I rigged up a Black/Blue Strike King Hack Attack jig with a Black/Blue Rage Chunk, and just hoped it off the bottom. Felt the lightest tap and swung for the fences. Not the biggest, but made my day or the couple of hours I fished.
  8. Caught this one and only at a new to us lake on Friday. A good one for a slow couple of hours.
  9. As I rapidly and repeatedly click the "Dislike This" button
  10. Try a Craw type bait, Used a Jig and Craw caught me a 2 and a halfer today. Did'nt see any Bream or anything around, and there arent any shad in this area.
  11. Great responses. Well took my new HJ 10 I bought today and tied it on the 6'6" M/F Fenwick Eagle on braid wit a FC leader, and it worked pretty well until the third cast where it got caught on some grass or weeds. I tried to pop it free, and I had Alberto knot failure at the FC leader (operator error) Bye bye HJ. I seem to always have bad luck with Rapala lures for some reason.
  12. Definetly will, I was asking because I had that rod laying around. I was just wondering to see if it was in the ball park. I am getting to a point where I'm starting to switch over to Technique spec rods. I do have a MH/MF Crankbait rod but I think its a little to whippy to be jerking around so to speak unless thats the way it should be. Thanks for the info guys.
  13. Would a M/F 6'6 be fine '
  14. What power and action for a suspending Husky Jerk 10 or the like.
  15. I have one, it does fill with water quickly. It walks nice, but there aren't really any mice where I fish. Maybe if it was like a chipmunk or ground squirrel it would get hit.
  16. We're gonna have to start wearing bank PDFs
  17. I've caught the usual Pickeral or Pike. I don't mind catching Pike as long as they don't break off my lures.
  18. I wouldn't mind at all going bass fishing, and hooking up on a Tarpon our or Snook.
  19. Nice, did the same thing, went out after the rain. Only caught a pickeral and a dink. Fell good to go out though.
  20. Time to start digging up the backyard...
  21. I would of bought the Duckett Ghost Crankbait rod if they had it in stock at Dicks, but they didn't so I went with the Skeet Reese. My next rods will be the Duckett Ghosts The price is great especially with my rewards discounts.
  22. I have the 7' S Glass Crankbait rod, so far no complaints except for the color.
  23. I use those also, have it set up in my garage. Mine holds six rods. The rods do bend a little with the reels on. I don't worry about it to much because I use the rods all the time, and have not seen them set. In The winter the rods come down, the reels come off, and the rods go in a PVC tube that stands vertically in my basement. I have a question: My garage is separate from the house, and has no heat or ac, if I store my rods in there for the winter the same way I store them in the basement would the cold affect the rods? I live in New Jersey.
