Do I feel like a horse's patoot... And thanks
  5. In order to sound like a noob, is this a large mouth or small mouth, cause i keep on thinking its a smallie, and i'm telling everybody that I caught a small mouth. Wouldn't a large mouth have a much bigger mouth. I never checked the mouth line from the side to see if it passed the eyes or not. I'm trying to compare to other pics but my eyes arent trained enough to have a definite answer.
  6. I just started bass fishing a month ago, and I caught my first and second fish last week, and they were smallies. Tell you what they do fight like they are twice thier size. The second smallie I caught hit my spinner bait like a freight train, and when I set the hook that mfr jumped right out of the water. Man I was stoked. They are the fish version of a Pitbull. You can check out the second smallie on my other post in the reports section under "caught my first bass" it ain't big but it fought like it was a five pounder.
  7. Thanks for the info. I just started bass fishing and I want it to last as long as possible before it gets to cold and ice over.
  8. Thanks Oh its great, and I've been trying Thanks, Been addicted to fishing but of the saltwater type, but this is like as they say the icing on the cake
  9. Another question; when does the bass fishing really drop off season wise up here? Probaply should ask this in another section.
  10. Oh, ok i'm just wondering because I have been having luck with liped and spinner baits. Just on case they are not working ill know what else to try. Thanks
  11. I'm in the same boat as yourself (pun intended), fishing the banks in Jersey. It's a blast and I just started bass fishing. AND WELCOME!
  12. Wow, thanks for that info. I didn't even know there was a pond right by my house I can fish. Thanks a lot.
  13. Thanks, and I will definitely check it out.
  14. Thanks all
  15. I have read that its better to use crank baits in the fall because the bass are foraging for the coming winter, but I've seen on these forums anglers using plastics such as worms in the fall. Now the question I have is; does it matter, is it geographical, or is it a myth. Thanks for the responses I'm still learning.
  16. Thanks alot Def awesome

  18. Spanks, spanks alot
  19. Thanks, and yes
  20. Yeah, I always liked fishing, Done plenty of saltwater fishing when I lived in Florida, but this is my first foray in bass fishing... pretty much first in freshwater fishing
  21. Especially with all those docks and decks hanging over the water... man if I had a boat. My son loves it, he's 3 and has his Spiderman fishing pole, and I've been teaching him how to cast it... well lets just say he's only 3, but he knows how to retrieve the line though.
  22. Its a nice lake. it actually opens up into the main lake to the right of me in the pic. You're kind of limited though because it's mostly private residentual. So for me not having a boat I have to make due. I actually caught that bass from a emergency only boat ramp wich is where the pic is taken, its actually a public park on the lake.
  23. Its def diff than saltwater fishing.
  24. Way ahead of you, already have the Cabelas and BPS app on my phone and stored in my favorites on my laptop. Hawthorne
