The More You Learn, The Less You Know
Good idea! ill try it out, on the water I can't look like a guy who does'nt know what he's doing because like i said I have two talons and the boat is loaded with sponsors and a custom boat wrap. I could fish in dead water and still people would come on the spot thinking that its good because im there with a good looking boat! But i think like you said, there is always something to learn with locals!

The More You Learn, The Less You Know
I'm now into my second year of tournaments for bass fishing, last year at this period I had 2 rods, no boat , no experience, no knowledge. Now I have 11 rods (not enough yet) , a 19 foot nitro with a 150, 112lbs minn kota trolling, twin 10' Talons and good humminbird electronics, i have quite a bit of knowledge because i study so much, but i still have no experience. After studying so much, watching videos, reading books, reading bassressources and talking to other tournaments anglers... I feel that the more I learn, the more I realize that I dont know anything. Last week I was in a tournament on a lake I did'nt know much, i caught 50 fish in the day in the same area while other boats around us had trouble landing 2-3 fish. I tought we had a pretty good day according to the conditions that were very tough, i was confident walking to the weigh-in, but after talking to some of the guys that lived near this lake and fished this tournament I realized that most of the fish were still spawning in the other side of the lake where the water is way clearer than this part I fished with mudd water. I was so mad at myself, i felt like i had not dialed in at all afterall. But then i tought, these guys know the lake, they caught 5 good ones, i caught 50 small ones (2,8 to 3 lbs). that day I learned that even if you know alot about bass fishing, you need to talk to the locals BEFORE pre fishing a tournament. On such big lakes, there can be alot hapenning at the same time, we ranked 16th, i was targeting the top 5. I think that knowledge and knowing a lake goes hand to hand together. Knowledge will help you catch fish anywhere while knowing the lake will help you catch those 2-3 big fish you need to stand out. How do you guys approach fishing a lake you never fished?

Is My Motor Too Low On The Boat?
Hey guys, I have a 2000 Nitro NX882 with a 150 Mercury XR6 on it. It has a factory manual jack plate on it and I feel that maybe the motor is positioned too low. I see all those guys trimming up with big cat tails while i can't trim past the motor beeing leveled with the boat. maybe it is too high also i dont know. Is there a way to know if it is in its correct position? should the prop be lets says 5 inches below the hull ? Let me know

Boat Looses Power As Day Goes On
Hey guys, It happend for the last couple of times i went out on the water, The boat goes well for the first few startups in the day and then as the day goes on I feel like its losing power. not like 20mph but the holshot takes a few more seconds and I loose about 8mph at WOT. Minn Kota Talon Scratchng Bottom?? Ok?
Hey guys, I just installed two 10' minn kota talons on my Nitro and i'm fishing water with current, first thing I noticed when I deployed the talon for the first time is that when in current and hitting solid bottom it kinda scratches the bottom making those scarry noise before in get in position, is this ok? Is the talon solid enough ??? its almost impossible to get the boat not to move before deploying Let me know!

Do Bass Feed Every Day?
Whats nice with bass is that if they dont eat to feed, they still attack to defend! If they are not taking your offering than try to get that reaction strike going on!

Correlation Between Carp Activity & Bass Activity?
Here in canada, Carp is way more realted to Largemouth than it is to smallmouth. The carps loves shallow, weedy areas. A carp is a good sign that there could be largemouth nearby!

High Muddy Water
He said it all!!! Muddy water means less light penetration, the shallow water will stay cooler than in clearer water so the morning bite usually last longer in mudy water conditions. You have to take your problem and turn it to your advantage!! Good luck!

Carolina Rig Confusion
Stractching the bottom is actually the point of using a c-rig... the weights gets the fish attentions from a mile around and when he looks behind there is your injured looking bait crawling on the bottom, but as catch and grease metioned, you can try to suspend it using mono and lighter bait sometimes this works better. this technique is often used to cover water deep. you can throw you c-rig let it fall to the bottom and reel it back in as fast as you can by keeping bottom contact, you'll be surprise how effective this is especially on rocky bottoms!

Talon 10' ? 12' ?
I'm about to try and install my sandwich style brackets right now, crossing my fingers, I have to unbolt the jackplate from the transom, put the brackets between the jackplate and the transom and bolt everything back in place, I hope the motor dosent fall or anything as we ar about to use some redneck materials to lift it lol... ill let you guys know how it goes and ill upload pictures of the finished product.... if ever it gets finished haha take care

Whats Your Favorite Post Spawn Lure?
It really depends if you target the males or females, right after the spawn the males will stay on the bed to guard the fry and they will NOT bite expect if they feel the eggs are in danger, they will not bite a senko but they will bite a crankbait or a spinnerbait as these ressemble fish that would like to feed on those eggs or fry. The female will be in the nearest cover next to the bed to take some rest, pitchin and flipping might be the best way to get them to bite as they won't chase anything, they might take an easy meal! But as KVD says in the first few pages of his book, nothing is worth your own experience, depending on where, when and how your fishing everything advice any pros can give might not work!

Oakley Or Costa
One improvement that every brand of sunglasses should make is let the UV's go trough the jacket of the sunglasses so we dont all look like racoons after the weekend lol

Talon 10' ? 12' ?
I decided to go with the 10', after talking with the Minn Kota rep. He told me that the new 10' is actually smaller than the previous 8' thats pretty cool! The 12' is a bit bigger, the bad part is that I need those Snadwich brackets meaning that I will need to unscrew my Merc 150 to put the brackets between the jackplate and the motor.... ill let you know how it goes!!!

Talon 10' ? 12' ?
Hey guys im trying to find out if the 12' Talon is longer than the 10' and 8' models when retracted, I'm looking to buy one but I don't want it to be a problem for the guy fishing from the back. Is a Talon higher than a Power Pole when retracted? Does anyone have one of the new Talon models, I know the previous one was bad but is the new one really better? Thank you everyone!

What's Wrong With Nitro?
I'm a Nitro owner, and I really love my boat, that said, I never had a ranger or a bass cat. I think its just like Honda and Volkswagen. There is pros and cons for everything on the market. KVD is using a Nitro, it can't be that bad!? And never forget, boats dosent catch fish!

Where Are They Right Now?
Im in Quebec,Canada. Carolina rig is something not alot of people do, but i tried it in a tuornament when nothing was working 30 minutes before the time was over, we had no fish in the livewell and we got the 4th place after putting the c-rig down there! So from that point on I told myself, lets do what the other guys dont lol
