  1. Anyone having having any luck lately at any of the Shelby Farms ponds?
  2. We see electric blue color. I'd be curious to know what color (if any) the bass see.
  3. Now really???
  4. I've wished for that length rod while in a canoe on a narrow, tree-lined river.
  5. Correction: VA Tech grabbed the Memphis coach.
  6. Thanks Mike. I just placed my first order. Heard too many good things to wait any longer. Starting with some Dredges and Swim Jigs. Looking forward to tying one on!
  7. I like the way you're thinking! I'd probably have a chatterbait tied on to slow roll across the bottom, and a jig as well.
  8. y8 gals of diesel fuel??? Don't forget there's ground water (and maybe your or someone else's drinking water) at some depth below that pile. Hopefully it all got torched.
  9. Sidebar - As a kid, I actually did catch my cat once while practicing casting in the backyard. Besides me feeling horrible, it was an expensive trip to the vet for my parents!
  10. It's not ... it's in Charlotte!
  11. Well, the Cubs had no pitching or hitting tonight. But other than that... Come on young Cubs, pull one out in Game 4!!
  12. Well, the Cubs pitched their 2 aces to 2 losses already in this series. We'll see what's in the tank for tonight. I'd love to see a Cubs-Royals matchup for the big prize!
  13. I had the same issue with my new PQ. The pinion gear just didn't fit well and "floated", which caused it to grind when reeling and sometimes didn't connect with the main drive gear. I took it back to BPS and exchanged it, but the pinion gear on the exchanged reel seems to do be just as questionable. I'll be very careful when cleaning the pinion gear!
  14. And remember to pull the line from the top side of the spool for a baitcaster.
  15. For baitcasters, I normally just sit in a chair and hold the spool on a pencil or similar between my feet. I run the line through the first rod guide before tying it to the spool, then reel with one hand and keep line tension with my other hand in front of the reel.
  16. I landed a 4 lb lmb this past weekend on a spinnerbait, only to find out that I had foul-hooked her solidly just in front of the dorsal fin. Think she just missed the bite, was trying to swat it, or what?
  17. Not really. Grove has been slow for me this year but I know others have had some luck there. I've only fished Civic Ctr a couple of times and was limited to top water with all the submerged veg near the banks. I didn't have any luck.
  18. 1 of my 4 was a dink. And it took me 4 hours to get those!
  19. Daycare gave up a few to me this morning. Tossed a frog all around the pond at daybreak and couldn't get any hits. Caught a couple on a Chatterbait and a couple on a Rage-rigged Pit Boss. Each 2lbs or less.
  20. Kent, that calls for another trip to the TW "buffet"!!
  21. I haven't fished an E6X yet, but some that I've inspected in stores didn't live up to the Loomis reputation of quality workmanship (for example, sloppy guide wrapping that you don't usually find with a comparable St. Croix Avid).
  22. Anyone figured out Grove? It's been pretty non-productive for me this year.
  23. I've never fished a fluke, but I'm thinking about rage-rigging a pearl one and giving it a shot. Sound like a good plan?
