  1. Nice fish Mike!
  2. Welcome to BR!
  3. I caught this one a few years ago
  4. I've had a lot of muscle cars and streetrods and used to paint the roads quite often; did a lot of drag racing too.
  5. ^^Glad you had fun with it!
  6. Not that particular area but you can't go wrong with a small crank, white fluke, popper, TRD on a Ned head, shakey head It's a pretty cool bait. I got most of my fish on a very slow swim on top and a couple swam faster under the surface. Do you have a pretty stout rod to throw it on? It's a little bit of a chore. The one tip I'll give is you really have to reel painstakingly slow to get that "swim" on top; you'll figure it out. Let us know how you do with it.
  7. I fished that little carry-in pond again on Memorial Day. Didn't fish like our first trip but we got some decent fish. I had 2 5's and what's even more cool than that is I got my first wopper plopper fish and a bunch on the BBZ40 Rat.
  8. Key words right there. I know Devo was great but don't whip it!!
  9. It sounds like you have everything covered with those 4 tbh with ya
  10. If I had to pick one do-all-rod I would probably buy a composite. Kinda the best of both worlds. And a MH/fast is probably the most universal setup.
  11. I've had a few DSG Tech Spec rods for years and they are great rods for the money.
  12. I went out last Sunday with a 90 and love the bait. I caught a chunky 3 lber on my 3rd cast with it. The thing I figured out with the bait was to let it settle before I started reeling and it plopped right away. If I tried reeling as soon as it hit the water, it would take a few feet before it surfaced and plopped. I also liked that I can use it like a prop bait as well; giving short, quick pulls.
  13. Yup. I love finishing ahead of the guys in the most expensive boats with the most expensive equipment. Just me, my 16ft Nitro and $50 rods....
  14. This^^^ I don't think the brand of braid is holding your distance back. It's more likely the rod or reel you're using or the reel adjustment. I use 20 lb power pro super slick and am happy with my distance. I throw my frogs on a 7' MH with a Revo and it works great.
  15. Who doesn't!?!
  16. I'm so happy for you A-Jay!! What a beautiful pair of brownies right there!! Please revive this thread:
  17. I love it. For a cheap yak, it's great. I paid $250 for it on sale at Tractor Supply no less. I love the features you mentioned. Only drawback is its length as it makes it a little harder on long treks but certainly doable.
  18. I got a 7-9 on Falcon a few years ago but my PB in Maine (home state) was 6-1; till today. Not much better but weighed in at 6-3. Good morning all around. My buddy and I tried a new hole I got wind of and it paid off. We left my boat behind today for the kayaks. Had to portage in through a small stream and over 3 beaver huts then it opens to a small, secluded pond where big girls swim. I ended up with the 6-3, a 5, 3 4's and some dinks. Definitely going back there again. The 6-3 and one of the 4's
  19. I almost always throw a soft toad, like a Zoom Horny Toad, due to the fact I have good success killing it in openings and you can't do that with a buzzbait. I've also found when the sun comes up and that really good morning frog bite shuts down, pulling a toad under the surface like you're fishing a fluke tends to keep the bite going.
  20. The issue I have is that I used the exact same hook, exact same line, exact same everything. The Keitech swims, the Swimmer stays completely still unless burned.
  21. Well then lets give this a shot! Here's (if I do this right) some pics of a couple I got last Sunday. 1 pie plate crappie and an average sized smallie:
  22. I didn't know you could upload right from my system; thought you had to save to a site then share from there. Could you give this old dog some directions on how to put pics into threads right from my tower?
