  1. Well, today was proof enough for me that weather outpowers the Celestial Heavens! Big cool down going on up here and absolutely clear bluebird skies=very slow day. 3 of us got maybe 20 each in about 6 hrs; slow day for these waters. O hope the rest of you did better than us. Oh, and no DD either.....
  2. This Sunday, Super Moon and full Lunar Eclipse. 10 lbers for everyone!

Welcome and come on in for a group hug! Don't be scared.
  4. Yup, my home lake has been a few feet down all summer and no rain in sight. I'm not worried; we'll have feet upon feet of snow to melt next spring.
  5. Well, look at it this way; you can only go up from here... But Shania says it the best
  6. The weather far overpowers the moon scale. With that said, I do believe that, all things equal, (weather patterns, fronts etc...) bigger fish will feed better in certain moon phases. I would never let the moon dictate when or where I fish though.
  7. Wow, she got her lips around that thing!
  8. Good to have ya!
  9. I've had days like that as well. Recently, my buddy and I were out on a high pressure, clear day and really struggling for bites. We were throwing everything at them until I tried a lipless bait and it was lights out after that. I gave my buddy one in the same color and we ended up having a banner day; because of that 1 bait change. I think that's the most rewarding thing about fishing is when you figure out what can consistantly make them bite that day. Nice job Weld.
  10. I got mine today. Great looking jigs! Pics with them stuck to bass will follow.
  11. ^^^Hey Maine, I'm on vaca the week of Oct 12th and I think my buddy and I are headed over your way for a 2 day stint. I'll keep ya posted as I know more. Good luck on your vaca.
  12. I love my bobber stops! Fastest, easiest way I have found. Dirt cheap too. http://www.ebay.com/itm/60-Fishing-Rubber-Float-Bobber-Stops-Pitch-Sinker-Medium-size-Brand-new-USA-/191507925639?hash=item2c96c30a87
  13. Came in to say this. Make sure you texpose the hook point too.
  14. Dude you're killin me! LMAO!! stuffed dog... That's so cool. I miss those days greatly. It's good you are getting so much on vid. I had a 15lb VHS you hoisted on your shoulder when my boys were young. (you keep quiet Kyle...too much to explain) so I didn't get too much of their catches on tape. Have fun with that young man. He has a great role model.
  15. You won't think that's funny 20 years from now young man. Now go to your room!

Nor will they understand why this is such a lovely sight
  17. Yup yup. I vary the weight depending on the wind and depth I'm throwing them in.
  18. And I usually think that as well but I've never seen a gill in this place; or even a pickerel for that matter. The place is just chocker block full of bass. That's why I thought I'd try downsizing and simplifying my bait and it ended up working out. We have some unbelievable water up here. Uuhhh, I mean Maine fishing stinks. Don't bother coming up here....
  19. Some good advice above. I'll add that sometimes it only takes a small variation of what you're doing to make a night and day difference in bites. Yesterday, I was throwing a green pumpkin jig and getting a few bites here and there. I switched to a green pumpkin craw t-rigged and lit em up big time. Both green pumpkin craw imitators, both fished on the bottom but one worked and the other didn't. And when I ran out of plastic baits I had no choice but to put the jig back on and the bite shut right off for me. Small differences.
  20. I throw mine on a 7' M Shimano Clarus , 2500 reel, 10lb braid and 10lb fluoro leader.
  21. Wow that did come out good.
