Must be rough! I'm jealous................. -Lewi

Skeeter Vs Nitro
Completely NOT true. Warranties can not be void by using another company's oil if you are using the mfgr's recommended viscosity. -Lewi

How Many Different Rods Are In Your Arsenal?
I was looking for rod "brands" in your arsenal not how many you bring.

How Many Different Rods Are In Your Arsenal?
I have read that once you find a rod mfgr. you like you should try and stick with that in your different lengths and actions since you are familiar with them. Do you feel that this is accurate? I see that there are some that do this on the site and have been considering the same thing but still need to play with a few other brands if I were to go this route. -Lewi

2014 Sierra V6 Towing
Long story short, you could pull a 14' loaded with a 4 cylinder Truck/SUV/Car. okay...maybe not a car but a 2013 Honda Accord has a max towing cap of 1000 for an example.

What To Do With This Rod
I do believe that it is heavy action.......not much give at all!

What To Do With This Rod
I have a 6'3" heavy muskie rod that I have not used in years (Gander Guide Series). Bought it to simply toss spoons in Canada for northern and did have success with it but just hasn't been used. Is there anything anyone can suggest that I use it for? It will need a reel but don't want anything expensive for it if it's gonna sit around. -Lewi

Bps Coming!
You'll soon realize that GM isn't all it's cracked up to be either from the stock standpoint. I would love a BPS here to make the competition fierce between Cabelas and GM.

Rod For Northern, Muskie Trolling
Decided that I am going to put a few rod holders on my boat for trolling lakes and rivers focusing on Northerns and Muskie....walleye would be in there too but have never done this before. What do I need to be looking for in a trolling rod.....length, power? Could I go with the Shimano TDR 8'6"? Seems that there are very few if any issues with this and I like the price for something that I will not be using that often but want to give it a shot. Also, I also have a 6'3" heavy action muskie rod that I picked up 7 years ago to toss heavy lures but really don't know what to use it for.....haven't in 3 years at least. Thanks -Lewi

Skeeter Vs Nitro
Really I see this as a no brainier decision I have to say with what you state. Skeeter. 1).There are some appealing upgrades to the Nitro but I am curious to the care what was taken with it as the carpet and seats are in bad shape and that is something that I am VERY particular to. 2).The Skeeter is a fine boat and would be my hands down choice in the years you are looking even though the Nitro line in the last few years are very appealing...I would like personally a little more HP out of the Skeeter but you should be very satisfied with from what I have read a very reliable 115 Yamaha motor. 3). With the 2 & 4 stroke debate you may as well search here for that and other sites to decide what it is that you want. There are pros and differences (note I didn't say "cons") to these types of engines that may be more appealing from one to the next. Can't wait to see what you get! -Lewi

What Is A "big" Bass In Northern Wisconsin
I would say that "big" bass in sconny ville would be in the 4lb range and would be very satisfied with that. I'm not too far off from you in MN but would love to hook onto a 5 pounder! -Lewi

Picked Up A Carrot Stix Wild
Well, wish me good with this girl. Reviews are scattered but have a buddy that likes his. Got it with the pre bf deal at TW so couldn't resist. Couldn't resist the color either! 6'7" MH spinning. -Lewi

Is Side Scan Worth It?
I think the side scan is a dang nice feature but for whatever reason I cannot get my mind to see it correct. I seem to always want to turn my head left and right so that I can understand the image if you know what i'm trying to say. I decided to stick with the Di and really like it.

Shimano Reels Personal Reviews
I will have to differ with one here on his statement of staying above the sahara line. That is a great reel, no argument there as I have one also but I have a sonora and I wouldn't trade it in for anything.......oaky, maybe something but the orange is pretty cool, none-the-less it is a sweet spinning reel for $50.

Where Are The Minnesotans?
Anyone here ever have an interest hooking up somewhere sometime for a beer and just talk fishing all that comes with it? I can't get to GA for a meet so thought this may work. -Lewi

Veritas
As others have said, don't get caught up in the IM rating as it all varies. This Veritas rod is the best rod that I have used and plan on purchasing another as (to me) the sensitivity is amazing. The fact that you are in Georgia this little tidbit won't matter too much to you but the graphite can get a little fragile if you are fishing in below freezing temps. That said, I doubt that you will have any regrets if you were to purchase this rod. -Lewi

Called St Croix Today...
Personally, I don't care how it broke. The saleswoman was rude you say, okay, great. There is no way to get around the fact that it is their right and anyone else's to charge shipping with a warranty product. They are giving a warranty on the "product" not the shipping charge. Great that Amazon will send a prepaid label. I rec'd a prepaid label from Ruger when I had an issue but that is the choice of the mfgr. Simply you need to get over that and send the rod back and you will get a brand new one for a fraction of the cost of a new one. S!*t happens and that is the way it is.............I'll send you a prepaid label for the rod and the recipt if you want and then I'll send it in and give it to some youngster who could use it if you want.......just a thought. -Lewi

Fishfinder Preferences?
.......and what do you want it to do? Are you just looking for the most bang for your buck........do you want color or keep it grayscale. You can get a good finder in gray scale with GPS and DI for $300, you can get all that in color for $500 if you want. There are so many variables, can you list what exactly you want i.e color/grayscale, GPS, DI, SI........where on the boat is it going. -Lewi

Where Are The Minnesotans?
I really hear you here. Sadly, I never got to Orchard last year but that is one lake that will shine one day and then completely shut off even around the sunken island where it is usually hot!
