Veritas or save yourself $20 and get the Vendetta. I was pleasantly surprised with this rod and wouldn't think twice about another.

I'll second this as they were working wonders for me this summer as trailers on a swim jig...I had the garlic ones. Only issue that I had was that they were one and done which isn't a bad thing but they didn't hold up too well. Needless to say i'll give them a whirl again. Nice fish BTW!!! -Lewi

By the sounds of it your already in the Ranger. Several hours away for something that you want and for how long you could hang onto it you go after the Ranger.

Lockable tonno cover or a topper would be the simplest suggestion for the truck. As for the boat, one with a rod locker would be good although I never lock mine.

Ended up with a Carrot Stix Spinning, 2 Abu Veritas casting 7'3, and a BPS PQ. Stocking had some Seaguar Senshi 10 & 15. Now if the ice would leave! -Lewi

Sorry to hear your jumping. I have always had a good product from Abu and others without any issues. I just picked up 2 Veritas rods since the one that I have has been very good to me. I do get that things happen and these forums are the places where we all will place our likes and disikes but I try to remember that we are a few of the many that fish these companies products and there will always be some sort of issue being it a mfgr defect or improper treatment resulting in damage down the road. May as well get in on this and represent the Tracker backers! Bought in late August and is at rest for the winter. 2006 Tracker V-16 Merc 75 4 Stroke Upgraded the electronics but have yet to install. 597ci hd at console and 597ci hd di at the bow.

With money no object as I think all bass boats are overpriced I would have to pick up a Skeeter i-class and for the heck of it strap on a 300 yamaha sho for some wow factor! Now, hopefully it catches fish.

I have 2 new humminbirds for my boat that I need to install in the spring so I would like to get better with using electronics and technique wise would be to get more proficient at flippin for starters! -Lewi
