Why does LC use junk hooks?
The hooks are very high quality, I just hate how heavy the wire on them is, I like light wire trebles on my baits so when a fish touches it, he's hooked, any video of a bass eating a crankbait and rejecting it should be enough proof as to why. Can't do that for the jerkbaits because they'll float with light hooks but I swap them out on everything else.

when to quit the jig
*something about why a jig is the best and why flipping a jig is the greatest and jigs catch pigs*

Spinnerbait water temps???
They'll catch fish from water temps in the low 40s and upwards, in colder water you want a more compact bait with Colorado blades so you can fish it slow and keep it on the bottom, then as the water warms you shift over to willow blades and a normal sized bait, retrieve speed goes up as well. Indiana blades are in between Colorado and willow, I assume they would be good for middle of the road conditions but I don't have much experience using them.

Pretty Sauger
Maybe it's because I've never caught them before, but I think these guys are such good looking fish! And depending on a variety of factors the colors can really vary, they are a unique fish for sure. This one was either the best looking or runner-up that I have seen so far, it was about 14-15" long and ate a shad rap today on the river here in Morgantown.

February Topwater In WV
My friend in central VA was catching them on a live target mouse in a pond this weekend! I caught some in a small lake near Morgantown with normal cold water on Saturday. One on a 110, the rest on a 1/4oz lipless feathered through old pad stems and grass

Just Fishing For Fun
My 2nd biggest bass ever, a fish that was 24" long and I think was in the 8-9lb range, was caught trolling a shad rap behind a noisy paddleboat in July. Dumb stuff

February Topwater In WV
Water temps ranged from 46 to 62 degrees. Very interesting things going on at this lake. No powerplant.

February Topwater In WV
Needless to say, the little lake that is only accessible via hiking in with a kayak seems to be the land of milk and honey. These were two of 19 bass I caught.

New PB, caught in Prespawn!
Not sure what jig that is, but I have been known to pair a baby boo jig with that color skirt and that color baby rage craw quite often

Someone better send out a slither rig warning to fish in Tennessee

Latest Catch Pics Thread
There was really only about 4' of visibility, there is a lot of limestone around here so water gets that greenish stain to it, not like anything I have fished before.

Put my kayak on a small lake here in Northern West Virginia today, I landed 6 small bass, one on the jerkbait, and the rest on a 1/4oz lipless. Water was freezing cold and they were incredibly sluggish but they know the days are getting longer!

Float n' Fly Failure
@Darren.I use a float-n-fly on winter largemouth in ponds and small rivers regularly. I use a gulp minnow on a lightweight jighead ususally 1/64-1/16

shaky head worms.
Nikko Baits 6" Bass Worm, either the pin tail or club tail. Phenomenal bait especially in cold water (but I fish it year-round) where a slow presentation is needed, the baits float so they won't lay on their side if you pause for a long time. The bait is hollow so when you rig it on a shakey head you push the hook through one side of the bait but not the other, and this keeps it extremely weedless. I rig them on strike king football shakey heads in 1/8, 3/16, and 1/4 depending on the conditions. The fish in my profile picture came on this bait!

How Do I Remove Salt from a ZinkerZ?
The night before a tournament that I think I will use a ned rig in (which is very rare) I will fill up my sink with water, take my zinkerz that are chopped in half, stretch them a bunch and then let them soak until they float.

I would put it in the ballpark of 50 acres

Bass Aren't Following The Rules In West Virginia
Bass should not be in shallow water eating flipping jigs right now. I am not sure, no thermometer

Dying Shad
Oh definitely, some places I fish have 14-16" gizzard shad. Lots of them! Seems like by a gizzard shad's second year, unless you're a 5lber you probably aren't eating them.
