Inflatable Boat For My First Vessel.
Yeah that's one of the things I considered. I guess you really don't think of it much before having to inflate it and deflate it over and over again. I could see how that can eventually turn into a pain. I'll take that into consideration. I'll also look into a variable speed motor. I did not know the 5 speed would just suck up the juice. I figured on low it would drain less. Good info to have. Thanks loop

Yeah only thing is my car is a lease, not sure if putting a trailer hitch on it will be a problem.

Florida Bass Fishing - January Edition
I don't know how many large bass there are in Turkey Lake but I know there are numbers. I did spot a large one roaming. One thing they do is rent out some pretty good jon boats thursdays through sundays. Full days I think for less than 40 bucks. They come with outboard and trolling motor. They have 5 and from what I read they only allow those 5 boats on the lake for fishing. All other fishing pressure comes from the bank and they do tell you Bass are catch and release. Just in case you need another fishing spot to add to your trip.

Inflatable Boat For My First Vessel.
Alright guys so I have been looking into getting my first boat. I am very close to pulling the trigger on an inflatable. I need something cheap and portable. Right off the bat, I don't think I can for a kayak. I feel claustrophobic just looking at them. So my next option was a Canoe, but those are heavier and require me to get a roof rack. So I am thinking Inflatable might just meet my needs. What do you all think of this set up? A Minn Kota Trolling Motor Power Center (If I need it??? Not sure) Intex 40lb Thrust Trolling Motor (Fresh&Saltwater) http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005QIB7K8/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER Deep Cycle 27 Marine Battery http://www.walmart.com/ip/EverStart-27DC-6-Marine-Battery/16795212 and maybe a smaller 24 as a backup. http://www.walmart.com/ip/EverStart-24MS-6-Marine-Battery/16782694 I plan on making a custom standing platform with hinges to make foldable and portable in my car. I've seen several on youtube made of plywood. Which could work, but I would like to go as light as possible while being able to hold my weight. This vessel holds 880 lbs which should be plenty for 2 along with all equipment. Though I seem to have my mind made up and everything is in my amazon and walmart carts, I have not pulled the trigger and would appreciate any feedback, advice on any of these items. But keep in mind I am on a budget and would like to stay close to the price of these items. I've considered a minn kota trolling motor, maybe with more thrust. Not sure...

I tried frogs on Toho and Turkey Lake, 0 bites. Switched to senko and caught the ones I just posted.

Florida Bass Fishing - January Edition
Out in Orlando tried out Turkey Lake and it turned out to be a good fishery. Caught 5 bass, lost 2 in about 3 hours, they were hitting stick baits. Used up all my senko's. They sure do fall apart in cover rather quick. I had one Bass chomp down on one and eat half. I used another stick bait and got similar results. Two different colors. Then I tried the Boyd Duckett night crawlers and got 2 on those. BUT I snapped my medium rod. Epic fail. Lots of cover and I was eating crap lol. Well still had a great time! The rod was free anyways, but it has been my go to rod so I need to go get me something similar, hopefully a bit sturdier.

No I won't eat anything from a canal. I was just curious.

It really is ridiculous. I bet even if you lived there and paid HOA she would still be upset about you ruining her lake. You're just a straight hoodlum to her! LOL.

They had a bunch of rods on sale at my walmart. Some decent priced combos too. I just couldn't pull the trigger, call me cheap lol. I did buy some Zoom Super Flukes in Baby Bass color though.

dsidle, I hear you. That's why I stay out of associations. I don't think I would ever live in one and I sure as hell don't go fish in one. I honestly don't want to deal with those kinds of people on power trips because they are part of a HOA and want everyones house painted the same shade of beige. I'll paint my house whatever freaking color I want!

Florida Bass Fishing - January Edition
Went to tropical park and lost a 3.5 maybe even 4 pound bass. I cursed myself for a good 2 or 3 minutes. This fish was pretty big compared to the stuff I've seen and caught at tropical. He destroyed my Okeechobee Craw Bitsy Bug with a Netbait Paca Craw in Sapphire. Flew out of the water several times had my drag going and got into some lily pads and snapped my d**n line. All my fault too cause I've been using that same set up with the same line for about a week and a half, I've caught 4 fish on it and have used it in heavy cover. I should have checked the line before casting it but I didn't. It snapped at the fluorocarbon and not even at the knot so I'm thinking the line was frayed. Well you live and learn. Switched to a bigger strike king black and blue jig with another paca trailer and got 0 bites. I need more bitsy bugs!

Lake Toho
Well my plans to a rent a boat went down the drain. So I will be bank fishing with my friend. Which lake is better for bank fishing? Okeechobee, Kissemmee or Toho? Any suggestions as to good bank fishing areas on either lake. I know Pz3 mentioned the north side of the lake of Toho. Any other suggestions?

Fishing Quiet Waters
Yes quite waters has some decent size bass in it. I believe there are 3 lakes, not sure if they are connected or not but, my friend caught a couple bass in there. We saw a few big ones swimming around too. He caught his on shallow cranks. I was in the middle of a major slump and nothing i tried worked lol. But it had nothing to do with the lake and more to do with my slump. There was great vegitation in areas of the lake we couldnt get to which stunk, if we had a boat or something we would have slayed some bass for sure in the big bunches of lily pads.

Ever since I started using the netbait paca craws I've been catching fish. I'm using a Okeechobee Craw Jig and a Sapphire Blue Paca. They are great!

Hi everyone! So I have been looking into bass clubs and noticed I couldn't find any in my area. I live in Miami and it seems the closest ones are in homestead or pembroke pines. Anyone know of any in Miami?

Lake Toho
Hmmm well after several hours of research I can't find any place that rents boats on Toho...so plan B. Lake Okee! LOL. They rent boats there!
-
Lake Toho
My friend called up a marina there and they told him they dont rent boats anymore for the lake, and no one else does either. I find that odd. I'm going to have to research a bit. But yeah I something like you mentioned would be fun!

Lake Toho
I will be fishing Lake Toho on Sunday, anyone have any tips, pointers, advice for that lake? Also any good boat rentals at a reasonable price anyone might know about? Probably will be getting there around 10am and doing a half day rental or something to that effect. I wish I had all weekend but I don't.

Speaking of that, at Walmart there were some kids playing with the fishing poles banging them around. The walmart employee had to ask them if they were going to buy them. The kids kind of got the hint so they set them down and walked away.

Hey Jolly sorry to hear you bought some Vendettas at walmart. Make sure you keep that receipt. My friend was in the store testing out some rods and started bending the Vendetta, barely flexed it and had it snap on him. He ended up buying a 17 dollar shakespear which he was able to completely bend almost into a u shape with force and it did not break. Hope those Vendettas are better than the one he snapped.
